No specific questions, but if you would do a piece with a similar amount of depth and your thoughts on fielding as you have for other facets of the game I'm sure there would be plenty of interested readers!Comment

Alright, I appreciate it. I really hope this isn't an instance where they drop the demo AFTER release date.Comment

I think what he means by this is, the CPU REALLY flubs the batting line-up when you get deeper into the season. I've actually seen Matt Holliday leading off for the Cardinals at one point in time. I think he just wants to know if it will be more realistic. You typically want a guy with speed batting lead off. So your Johnny Damons, your Jacoby Ellsburys, guys like that will typically lead off.Comment

And I've seen some "oddities" in lineups over the course of seasons, but the cpu always seems to be effective with those lineups.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

The CPU determines the lineup based on Contact, Power, and speed ratings (possibly some others).
Sometimes, The Show's CPU lineups look better than the real thing, in my opinion.Comment

The game can't see names when it's setting lineups, only stats and ratings. And strange though it looks to someone who watches the real games day in and day out, Holliday actually doesn't seem like that bad of a choice (mathematically) given the Cards lack of speed (MAYBE Rasmus, but you take a big OBP hit there...)Comment

Player A....92/82 contact....68 speed
Player B....45/58 contact....70 speed
Those are pretty much your two choices on St. Louis.
Don't blame SCEA because St. Lou doesn't have much speed(or blame SCEA for their speed ratings!)
Put Jose Reyes on St. Louis...and Brendan Ryan on the Mets....look at the St. Louis lineup then....
Again....when guys are hung up on names...I've gotta hang up....
SCEA cannot make the game for 2010/11 only...they are making a game that guys can play years into.(that's what we tell them we want, right!?)
3. Best contact/power
1. Best speed/contact
2. Next best contact
4. Next best power
5. Next best power
6. Power/contact
7. Contact/power
8. Who's left...
That's the A.I. thinking....
