wonder if they could implement a "Camera Vault" for '12

you upload your camera settings and a small screenshot for others to look at before downloading

I'll try that right now. With batting set to Timing Only I think it could work very well.

      e. Just tried it and it won't work for me. Why? Because you can see the catcher's signs. And having to look away before every pitch will get annoying. Like you said though, it looks fantastic.

Catcher 5 is my current favorite.

        Same here!
At the moment I'm rocking Catcher cam 3. I can identify lower pitches better and like the fact I get to see more of the park.

i WISH... russell if you're listening ... wink wink nudge nudge .... that they would incorporate a birds eye view.. similar to the older 8 bit baseball games. With TIMING hitting turned on, and forcing the computer to throw mainly strikes, this would be awesome

if you do off set camera does it switch angles automatically depending on the batter being left or right handed?

Re: What hitting camera will you be using this year?

I've yet to decide which hitting camera I would use. I always thought a modified version of the default hitting cam would be perfect, just changing up the focal point a bit to make the pitcher more imposing (similar to MVP 2005). I find it extremely disappointing that we can't modify the focal point on the custom cameras...I just don't understand why such basic functionality was left out.

This was one thing I was most excited about, because I feel like with all the hitting cameras, the focal point makes the pitcher look too far away. So I was really, really disappointed when I finally went to play with the custom cameras to finally fix this...and found that you can't...

I thought custom cameras would finally get rid of this problem once and for all. It wouldn't be as annoying if this wasn't such a basic feature of a custom camera.

Good old Catcher View(Default)! Apparently I'm the only one.

Probably the plain vanilla offset. I like how that changes the release points for lefty and righty. But if the custom cam editor allows, I may try moving it to the hitter's eye level. Now then I'd really feel like standing in the box...

I used to use the plain jane catcher hitting cam, but have been experimenting with an offset look. I used offset with "The Show 09" with decent results.

I've been messing around with a very high custom camera zoom in quite a bit as close to the batter's eyes as possible and find I can really see and judge the heights really well.

i agree......the best camera for the pitcher looking so imposing (IMO) was the old WSB camera...it feels like the pitcher is right on top of you

try this.....next time u are at the HS fields....step in the batters box.....60 feet is not that far away but it looks sooo much farther in MLB the show series...too far

if it's like last year, the catchers signs aren't accurate, i believe. haven't tried to bat from this view yet in the demo, but did most often in '10.

what do you guys mean when you say focal point?

                                focal length of the lens?
                                depth of field (aperture)?
