I think they might want to decrease the field of view without simply just zooming in to make the pitcher appear larger?

They seemed accurate to me. I only looked at the signs a few times though, so you could be right.

        ahh ok

sounds like optical zoom (i'm just trying to picture in my head what you would have do to on an actual camera to achieve this)

it seems odd that you wouldn't be able to customize this, since practically all broadcast cameras are optically zoomed in on the pitcher/batter

I like Catcher 3. Probably move that one back just a touch.

I am a fan of Wide 3. I treid the catcher 5 cam but it felt like he was pitching from little league distance.

Looks like a slight modification of 'Catcher 5' to me - just zoomed OUT a tad to get more of behind the plate. I like it too!

Where are you guys getting that Catcher 5 looks like MVP 05's hitting cam? That camera sat MUCH higher, actually a lot more similar to the default Catcher cam:

                    ok, I digress.

Is that the default "hitter's eye" view though? It looks to me like one of the alternate cams or perhaps a modded cam. I could be wrong though cause it has been a LONG time since I've played it, especially unmodded.

Wide Offset for me. I tried catcher 5, and while I liked it, as someone else said, I was getting blown away by fastballs because they get on you so fast. I was late on everything, even on the lowest pitch speed.

Wide Offset is great for picking up breaking pitches, and I can actually judge inside and outside really well. My hitting was atrocious on all other cameras I tried, but i'm making much better contact now. I suggest everyone give it a shot if you are having problems with cameras that are straight on.

Yup, that's the default. I actually still pop the game in once in a while for the hell of it

Here's an unmodded pic... I didn't even notice the WGN ticker on that first one when I post it, lol:

I just tried it out and it felt great. I was able to work the count from this view and had Lincecum throwing over 40 pitches in the first two innings. I did strike out quite a bit though, but I also hit two HR's. But I don't really mind the K's. When he hit his locations with the fastball I had trouble making contact, and it had me thinking about when I would see an off-speed pitch. That's great, I want to fear a pitcher with a good fastball.

Overall it was really comfortable. It was easy on the eyes, too.
