Yeah, I'm goin catcher 5 as well this year for the same reasons stated above and I get a better view of the strike zone.

I'm in between Catcher 5 and Wide Offset too.

I just can't make up my damn mind! LOL! Both have their definite upsides...

I guess I'll keep testing them out and settle on the one that gets me more walks.

You want to look at backstops for 9 innings?! I couldn't do it dude...The game is built this year to see the whole stadium while batting, imo.

The stadiums have always been impressive.

I want to play a real major league broadcast. Hitting cameras can't offer that.

I'm going to use the pitcher (wide cam I think it's called) It's the closer view of all the pitcher cams.

I've officially decided on Wide Offset... I get a great look at the player models and stances, an awesome view of those beautiful skylines, and it's much easier to read pitches.

I just switched to catcher 4 and it was a HUGE HUGE HUGE improvement. I was using the default camera before and I had to drop the pitch speed all the way down and go down to veteran hitting just to get a few hits a game.

Now, with catcher 4, I am hitting decently on all-star with the pitch speed only dropped down a notch or two. It has helped me IMMENSELY at recognizing pitches and avoiding swinging at horrible pitches

That shouldn't be the default for "Broadcast" this year. I spoke with the developers and it's a change that should be in this year.

It should default to the pitching view for your team against the CPU when you're on the mound.

I was experimenting with the "Wide" camera, and I was picking up pitches really well. Still some experimenting left, but as of now, Wide is the way to go for me.

Interestingly I have been hitting best with "catcher 6" which is much closer to home plate...you can't see the batters and their stances as well but somehow I see the pitches better...

I still prefer the normal catcher/original hitter cam, seems i judge the pitches best from that angle

I actually might try to hit from the Outfield view this year, with analog hitting.

I can't freakin' wait to try this. I may have to try to play at a lower level hitting wise but I'm willing to do it just to have a full broadcast experience.

I love hitting and pitching from the outfield view, it's the only way that's ever felt "right" to me. If you're anything like me, you may want to turn pitch speed down a bit to start.

There may be an issue with analog from that angle. Early after the demo dropped I made an observation that it seemed that pushing the analog right or left from that view seemed backwards, like it was still reading the movement as if you were hitting from the catcher view. I think Ramone made a comment in that thread that led me to think the developers didn't really anticipate anyone trying analog hitting from the outfield view. However, I've still been playing with analog in the demo after dropping it down to Veteran and I'm having some decent results.

One other thing I'll mention in regards to hitting from the outfield camera: I've always struggled against lefties and I'm so excited about the custom cams. On the default outfield view the pitcher's body kind of shields the release when you're facing a lefty, and the ball moves at more of an angle. When I get the retail version of the game I'm going to work on a camera that I can use against lefties, probably either straight on and higher up or over the left shoulder of the pitcher.

Because they prefer the graphical and presentational "broadcast" element of the game more than the gameplay element. To each their own I guess. To me personally I think it's kinda missing the point of playing the game rather than watching a game on TV but whatever, like I said, to each their own.

I like Offset 6 the most because it's basically the catcher cam but with the pitcher the proper distance away. There's only a very small amount of an offset.

Here's the view I'm going with. I can read pitches well and I'm actually having a hard time staying back on the ball. I may need to up the pitching speed, although I didn't want to touch any sliders in the demo.

This is similar to Blzer's camera view - slightly off-set from "wide" default.

Edit: I don't hit with strike zone visible, but since I took this screen from the camera editor it's displayed.
