Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I have a question
Do any of y'all playing RTTS buy the points on Playstation Store to make your player better and get called up faster or do y'all play the old fashion way and just work for it?Comment

Yes. The away stadium doesn't wanna play the other players music.Comment

old fashion way. it feels more rewarding. I literally just made it to the majors and it felt like an accomplishment. (made it 6/12 of year 2)Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
My recreation of myself is doing ok. I'm a power guy that hits for contact. After being drafted by the Seattle Mariners, I'm .288/.301/.422 as a first baseman hitting fifth in the lineup. With the new points system I'm taking more balls and getting better contact, but a lot of my hits somehow find the glove of my opponent. At this pace, I would expect to be in Tacoma next year.
As for the question about buying points: I've never done that. Last year, I had two different guys, and my hitting guy reached the majors in his first year. It was really rewarding to build him up and use him wisely (especially my first home run off of Boone Logan at Yankee Stadium II). If you want to buy points, that's your call. As long as SCEA keeps up their amazing job of not forcing people to buy points, I'll keep buying their product.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Is playing a fielder more fun than a pitcher. I have only used a pitcher before because the thought of playing 162 games would take forever to complete a season. To those using a fielder does it take forever to finish one season, or do you skip through and only hit?Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
You can choose just to bat by turning off any fielding/base running duties so games take probably five to ten minutes if your starting and less if you are just being subbed in.Wolverines - Red Wings - Tigers - LionsComment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
The Royals called me up in June of my first year. Had me skip AAA. Can you say not ready yet? My player is a D overall and they only use me as a PH. So progression has stalled. I was only two weeks from the AA all star game, so I missed out on that bonus. But I'm in the show so I guess I cant complain.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I was doing a mini 14 game season with the Twins until Knight's rosters came out, but I was doing so bad I had to change it up. I lost 9-2, 8-3, 2-0, and then last night 10-0.
I downloaded OSUBeav's top 100 prospects (which are great, btw) and started up RTTS.
I'm tearing up AA so far. Hitting just above .400 in about 40 plate appearances, with 1 HR and 11 RBI. I've had a 7 game hit streak, and I'm currently on a little 6 gamer that hopefully I can stretch to 10. I'm a balanced hitting (but a few ticks towards Power over contact) RF with a cannon for an arm, drafted by the Tigers.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I am giving up on my SS for a while since right now I can not get a hit against anyone in the majors which is starting to really annoy me.
Just loaded my pitcher back up and got my second save on the season since I am just a reliever at the moment. Well as I am typing this I am now a starting pitcher since I passed most of my advancement goals and getting my first major league start against the Mariners.
Was 2-0 with 2 saves as a reliever.Wolverines - Red Wings - Tigers - LionsComment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Reverted back to my 2nd year when I was in the White Sox' AAA system prior to my trade to the Astros (made a new save file after I got traded so the original was still there). My Astros career was just a disaster. 4.5 years with them and I was always passed up for promotion despite meeting all of my goals because my abilities weren't good enough. I guess I just simmed too much and so I never had enough points to spend to improve stats that I didn't already need to improve for advancement goals.
Hopefully I can avoid being traded in this second go around.Comment
