It took me 1 3/4 years when I made the majors as a Reds 3B the 1 time, but there was a lot of roster upheaval on the parent club the 2nd year. You make it faster if you are able to develop your character's attributes. The one thing I notice that there's isn't much of a jump between a AAA starter and a MLB bench player. You might want to save up your points after your're made a AAA starter so you can develop your player from AAA starter to MLB starter.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I think it's about time for me to bump up the difficulty level (doing Analog Pitching on Veteran). I created a pitcher who was drafted by the Diamondbacks. Started doing very good in AA and was kept there (there was never a roster spot in AAA for me to take). So I kept on improving and ending up just _ripping_ up AA. Ended with a record of 20-2, 1.84 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and 150+ SO (more strikeouts then hits).
I focused primarily on my */9 and clutch stats until they were all 70+. Then I started focusing on individual pitch stats.
Well, after the first year, I was the third best pitcher (overall rating) in the Diamondbacks org. Signed a 1-year deal for 2.8mil to be a AAA starter. A little frustrated at not being in The Show, but also relieved. Now I can focus on improving my stats even more and getting dominant enough in AAA to move up to the bigs.
Though perhaps it's time to bump up to All Star. Going to wait and see as I'm not nearly as dominant in AAA as AA (thank goodness).Comment

Since this thread is so big didnt wanna scroll through 97 pages for the answer. I created a 18 year old closer 1st year was in AA and 2nd year in AAA. I got sent back down to AA for year 3. So how long is it taking for yall guys to get to the big leagues? My stats improved the 2nd year with a ERA in the low to mid 4's of a ERA.I'd like to talk to you about a serious problem. Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Ok, one of the amazing things I love about this game....
I got called up to The Show in the middle of the season... was put in as a pinch hitter for my first appearance with Cleveland at home... game tied 1-1, 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth.. the second pitch I saw in my Major League career was a change up, down the middle but low in the strike zone... pouneded it out to right-center field for the WALK OFF HOME RUN! Cleveland wins 2-1! Are you freaking kidding me??? When I saw the situation I was being put in, I thought "Wouldn't it be cool if my first major league at bat was a walk-off home run..." Thinking, no way that'll ever happen. HOLY CRAP!!
And just in case anyone is wondering... My sliders - 5 for contact, 5 for power, 3 for solid hits... Veteran hitting, timing hitting... So granted, I have it a little easier than most and if my stats are ballooned, I'll up the difficulty to get realistic results... But talk about a dream way to start off your big league career!! I'm just amazed I'd even be able to accomplish something like that... That's why this game just sucks you in - amazing moments like that!Currently Playing: FIFA 22 Career Mode - Manchester United ManagerComment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Well, after struggling a bit in AAA, the last couple of games I've started to come around. Back to back 3-5 games including one with 4 RBIs. I even made the Futures game, got 1 AB off the bench and grounded out. I have no idea how I made it, I'm hitting .255 with only 6 HRs and around 30 RBIs.
When I was playing yesterday and was in a huge slump, my timing was off. I was hitting down on the analog stick too late, and not giving myself enough time to load up. I'd go back, and then up too quick. So I've been trying to hold the stick down a split second longer, and then push it up and it seems to be paying off.
It's crazy how you can just go from raking, to not being able to hit anything if your life depended on it on the turn of a dime. Feels so good to be back on my game again.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Just hit a solo walk off homerun in a Double A game. It Felt Awesome!!!!
Also had a RBI triple and another single in that game! Finished 3-6
I was struggling hard before that game so hopefully I carry some momentum off of it.
Can't wait till I make it to Triple A!, and then the Show!Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
RTTS needs Free Agency and desperately. I just got through the standard 6 years of arbitration and whatnot. Come to see what amazing contract the Dodgers will offer Barry Bonds and nothing... Not a dickie bird, so i sim the off-season hoping I'll hit the market and get offers galore.... Nothing! So, now I pick the Phils for spring training and hope they like me enough to break the bank.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
My apologies if this had been asked before, but I didn't find anything in a quick search.
I'm trying to decide where to put my training points and am looking for an explanation of what some attributes do for you when playing RTTS. I don't sim at all, and play every at-bat. Some attributes I had a question on are...
Vision
Plate Discipline
Clutch
Baserunning Ability
Baserunning Agressiveness
Thanks for the help, and sorry again if this has been answered somewhere before.Comment

What do yall spend your training points on? After I reach my goals I've been using them to improve my pitches

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Holy cow... I did it again! My second appearance in an MLB game - again as a pinch hitter with Cleveland. On the road against Kansas City, leading off the top of the 9th against closer Joakim Soria, trailing 4-3... Smacked a 2-0 fastball over the right-center field fence, this time to TIE the game at 4!! We ended up losing in the bottom of the ninth, when Arias hit a walk-off double - K.C. won 5-4.
This almost has to border on historic... 1st 2 at bats in the majors - first one wins the game in the ninth, second one ties the game in the ninth!Currently Playing: FIFA 22 Career Mode - Manchester United ManagerComment

Sure had to put a lot of points into my character before he was made AA starter.I was still on the bench in June when I decided to take steps.I finally ended up buying about 3000 points to improve him. A lot of my skills were in the 35-40 range, and I had to get all to about 50 before I was made AA starter.Last edited by Mike3207; 04-01-2011, 12:31 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Started a RTTS as a SS for the Red Sox (I'm still playing MLB 10). Had a pretty poor year at AA Portland, just couldn't hit well at all. My average was decent, always around .290 -.300 but I couldn't knock runners in to save my life, or hit homers. My player was desperately in need of some steroids!
Late in the season I was traded to the Astros and was on the AA Corpus Christi Hooks bench for the rest of 2010. For 2011 I came off the bench, had a string of nice games going early on and was suddenly, for no apparent reason, promoted to AAA Round Rock Express and quickly became the starting SS. I have finally started to hit for average and power, got a few homers, and I'm sitting at 21 RBI's at the beginning of June, which is a massive improvement from my time in Portland. Loving my RTTS now, not sure if I want to be an Astro but I will be just grateful if I can make the Bigs at all. If I become a star in Houston, maybe I can get a move to a club I want to play for.Last edited by GunnerAsh; 04-01-2011, 12:57 PM.Comment
