You will be thrown more balls and take more walks. With it low, I went into Sept in the minors with like 10 walks. Now that both of them are at 99, I had 90-something last year and am at 80-something going into Sept.

The best suggestion to hitting in the minors I can make is to adjust the RTTS sliders. I think default Pitch Speed is too high, I have it at 0. It help me see the ball a lot better. You might also move the Contact, Power and Timing sliders to 6 until you start hitting.1st strike frequency is also too high you might consider moving that to 1 or 2. Fielder Run Speed lowered a bit will give you more extra base hits. Just look at the sliders and see what works for you. While your ratings are low, there's no shame in giving yourself a bit of help.

For 2 seasons straight with interactions I must have said I wanted traded about 25 times each season, and the manger/management gives some lame excuse every time. At what point will they finally trade you, besides when your benched for no reason. Oh and this is all while being the best player on the team - stats and rating wise.

Back to the free agent part, it says after 6 seasons you can finally be a free agent, so why after my 7th year, being a former MVP with a 64 home run year, is only 1 team giving me an offer, and I cant pick another team?

A new issue, why in the heck is the team so dumb when it comes to contracts? I try to demand more money, then finally they give me a final offer, and get this, you can go low as 300k and they still decline the offer, but want to pay like 11 million and wont go any higher or lower. Its so damn dumb.

Now for a gripe. Why the heck do I get benched because I fail one steal attempt while I'm leading the league in HR's, Hits, RBI's, Run's, Batting Average, yet I get benched because of one bad steal attempt? Thats a major error I swear. "On fire" for 4 months straight in the season, and I'm benched during a 22 game hit streak THEN I get brought in as a pinch hitter, and lose my hit streak due to getting 1 at bat in a game, talk about BOGUS!!
I'm pretty sure if you avoid all contract offers .. there will be a time when you can sign up for any team and try for Spring Training. And unless you're god awful, you almost always get a contract.

                Doh!

Spent the first year in AA as SP in the Red Sox organization. Second year promoted to AAA, traded to the Rockies. Midway through the year traded to the A's. Near the end of my second year I get called up to the show.

First appearance, tied ballgame in the 9th inning at Yankee Stadium. Struck out Gardner, Cano, and Texeira. Held serve in the 10th. And then in the 11th I muffed a bunt, allowed a single, muffed another bunt, and allowed the winning run to score on a wild pitch.

Sheesh. I would have rather given up a home run

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum, I came here looking for a guide or thread for RTTS that shows what impact each of the training categories has on your player specifically. For example, for a category like Discipline what exactly does it do for your player? It seems as though it makes it easier to check your swing but does it also improve your hitting performance? There are several categories I am curious about such as Base Aggressiveness, Clutch, Plate Vision etc. The descriptions in the game just aren't very clear to me.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Plate Discipline gets you walked more often. Your Clutch attributes replaces your contact attributes when they are runners on scoring position or the game is on the line.. Meaning if you have a contact of 80 and your clutch is at 40, your contact will be 40 when there are runners on scoring position. Base running aggressiveness is pointless since you have complete control of your player, thats a sim stat. Plate vision helps you hit the ball that are out of the strike zone/

Early on in my first season as a SS for the Carolina Mudcats (Reds AA team). I'm hitting just above 300 (.304 or so) but my attributes are still low. I have high 20's in contact and power, 70's speed. Definitely not a homerun hitter. My advancement goals are to increase Drag Bunting and Bunting, have a .990 fielding %, and hit 1 homerun over the next 3 weeks. I thought it was weird that they want me to improve my bunting, but try to hit a homerun. Anyone else see anything like this?

Well I started my "real" RTTS last night (2B/SS) put in about 30 minutes creating my face and all. I got drafted by the O's which as you can tell from my avatar is a good thing. I'm not gonna lie I bought some points for this one but didn't do anything crazy with them, I just wanted to make my player more like me. I boosted my fielding into the upper 70's my contact hitting to around 70 and left my power alone as I wasn't a power hitter. Put my speed and vision to 70 and everything else I pretty much left alone. We'll see what happens.

Welcome to OS. I posted this last year.

Taken from another thread. This was explained by BrianSCEA:

For hitting Con, Pwr, and PVis are the most important. There is Dis which affects check swing skill, but obviously as far as taking balls and strikes that's 100% up to the user. All things being equal, it's the pitcher's BB/9 (i.e. accuracy) which is going to determine how many walks are going to happen.

I think Pvis affects how large your PCI is. All I know for sure is that these are the three things I concentrate on the most, along with Durability (your energy, which allows you to play more than 3 games in a row). I won't even touch clutch until these are close to max, and so far I haven't had many problems coming up with crucial hits.

If I can find that link to the interview I will post it again.

2B/SS Bowie Baysox (AA Orioles) After about half a month coming in off the bench I got the starting 2B job. After about 2 weeks starting I'm hitting about .450 with 5 HR's.

What's the worse slump you've expierenced so far?

I'm in my 3rd season and I'm going through a 3-37 slump right now. Just can't figure out whats going on. Dropped from .380 to .275. 2 doubles and a signle and a bunch of whiffs and flyouts.
I'd like to talk to you about a serious problem. Packs of wild dogs that have taken over most of the major cities.
