Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I put it over in the show nation feedback forum. there needs to be some sort or prospect status that can make you untouchable as far as getting traded. most likely the best way is to incorporate A ball. A ball prospects very rarely get traded, that way by the time you are done with A ball you could have reached top prospect status and be untouchable.Comment

Speaking of trades, I was just traded from Milwaukee to Oakland for 2 other minor leauge players. Now I'm playing AA for the Midland Rockhounds.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Starting SS for Carolina Mudcats (Reds AA) in first year of RTTS. My speed rating is in the low 70's and Baserunning ability is in the low 50's.
I'm on first, another runner on third w/ no outs and I get the sign to steal second. The pitcher is right-handed, so I take a one step lead and go on the first pitch. It is a pitch-out, so I figure I'm toast, but I slide to the outfield side of the bag and somehow still beat the throw.
Catcher must have had a noodle arm, but still exciting to get a good jump and beat a throw like that. I'm batting in the #7 spot though, so a grounder, strikeout, and popout later and I'm stranded on third.Comment

#1 SP for AAA Salt Lake the second year. Control is all 99s, Velocity on 4 seam is 99, Control and Velocity are both As.Overall is a B, I've had 4 CGs and 3 shutouts by Mid-May. I'm good enough to be in the majors, but I wasn't promoted this time around. I'll beat up AAA hitters a little longer.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
In my third yeard as CF for the Jays orginization. Career batting average of .301 with a good ways to go on skills before I'm called up. I might get rule 5 drafted like last years RTTS (thank god for that, saved me from 6 years of KC ball)Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Just finished my first season as a Carl Crawford type LF, trying to go for .300/30 hr/30 steals
Ended up getting traded to the Yankees AA Trenton squad, and made up for an average first half of the year by finishing .400+ over my last 85 at bats.
2011 lines:
310 at bats, .290, 7 HR, 46 RBI, 6 3B, 16 2B, 6 STL, 35 R, 17 BB, 5 HBP
Not a bad year. Was hitting .250 for a majority of the year so the final stretch helped.
Sidenote: Any other lefties notice in their player card they are batting right handed?
EDIT: Weird, eastern league has two playoff teams in each division? Looks like I'm headed to the playoffs at 68-74Playing the 86-56 Fisher Cats, who dominated the division as 68-74 was good enough for second.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Anyways, I really wanted to do a forum dynasty thread like I have been the past two years, but it takes a lot of time to do the write up and such so unfortunately I won't be keeping week-by-week track of my RTTS.
As usual, RF RTTS, but I had the sliders all the way to power, speed, and arm in attempt to creating a 5-tool player. I was originally drafted by the Red Sox and spent half-a-season with the Portland Sea Dogs before being traded to the White Sox in a package deal that brought over Matt Thorton, LeVon Washinton, and another player. Playing time in the first year was off-and-on because I got warned and bench "for attempting to steal" when I was asked to run on a hit and run and the idiot at the plate flailed.
My line is somewhere around .316 29 R 5 HR 30 RBI 5 SB 6 BB 10 K in 295 ABs. I also had 4 SF and 8 SH so yeah, my OBP was a Aaron Miles-esque .327.
It appears that the White Sox are having me repeat AA but this time as the full-time starter. I should just consider the first year a Class-A stint. Oh yeah, and somehow the Phillies acquired Tim Lincecum in my RTTS, I hate their rotation and I'm not even in the big leagues.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Well this is frustrating. Accept a contract offer for 1 year to be AAA bench. Before the season I get sent down to AA, and I am riding the bench???
I just started every game for them over the final three months last year, get promoted to AAA, come back down without playing a game and am riding the pine.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Started off getting drafted as a CF for the AA Portland Sea Dogs, affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.
Through about 6 weeks of the season I was being used as primarily a utility guy and would play CF or RF about 1 of every 2-3 games. I was batting .418 with 3 HR and 8 RBI through the first 6 weeks and was traded!
The Florida Marlins traded Ricky Nolasco and another prospect to the Boston Red Socks for myself and another prospect.
I am now being used as a DH for the AA Jacksonville Suns and am struggling to say the least.Last edited by OnIowa; 04-14-2011, 05:55 PM.Comment

I don't know what rosters you're using (I'm assuming the OSFM), but it seems like the Portland Sea Dogs is a good team to start off with. Even though my role was AA Bench, I played in 4 or 5 of the games each week at all the outfield positions. I think it may have to do with lower durability, because I had another with the Orioles and they had Pie and another high durability player and I only played once or twice a week. Same happened to me with the White Sox organization.Comment
