Going through a slump since I've joined the big club (cubs). I've hit 4 hr's but my average is in the low .200's. Tried changing my stance up and had a little succes getting to around .250, then back down I went. I go through these periods where I'm just not seeing the ball well. It's really strange, maybe I'm just trying too hard...

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I find that when I go through slumps, I turn into a react hitter, meaning I am just reacting to the pitch and not actually watching where it is being released by the pitcher and reading the break. I tend to swing at almost everything or take strikes and swing at borderline pitches when I am slumping. Although I have has some stretches where I go 0 for 5 with 4 "Good" at bats that are hard outs...but those tend not to be protracted.
To break out of my slumps, I tend to turn off the PS3 and go do something else for a little bit to clear my head....similar to when I am writing code.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I just started playing RTTS as I was waiting on the patch as I don't trust the devs when they say you won't have to start over. Anyways, the new player evaluation system is a huge improvement over previous years. I love that I just got a good AB for hitting into a double playbecause I hit a one-hop liner to the 2nd baseman (he made a great diving play on it). However, I think the evaluator takes how hard you hit the ball into consideration too much. For example, I worked a full count then hit a weak grounder to the right side to advance a runner from 2nd to 3rd with only then 1 out (my out), and I got just an OK AB. To me, that is a damn good and productive AB, moving a guy to 3rd so the next guy doesn't need to get a hit to score the run. Also, you get OK ABs on weak hits, that doesn't make any sense as if you got a hit, that's a good AB in any manager's book I would think.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
hello,
downloaded Knight's latest roster, and planning on initiating a new RTTS career.
Knight (and others) put much work/effort into these rosters. However, when i begin a new RTTS career, there are already all type of crazy changes. Derek Holland is in the bullpen for the Royals? Wil Meyers is no where to be found in the KC organization? Dyson is in AA?
I understand after an RTTS career begins, you can't control teams/rosters. But i was at least hoping the rosters could be actual/legitimate before starting the career?
any possible solution to this ?
thanks.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Late in my first season as starting SS for NorthWest Arkansas (Kansas City AA). I pass 3/4 of my advancement goals and I'm told "You've done everything needed to advance, but we don't have room for you at the next level."
I then went to look at what my next set of advancement goals are, and I don't have any. I guess this goes along with the email then, that there are no other goals to meet to advance and I'm stuck in AA for the rest of the season unless there is any injury.Comment

Conversely, you do get points for a good at-bat on a solid line drive that goes right to an outfielder, so I guess it works out in the end.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I got called up to the Reds on Fourth of July, 2012. I guess they really need a SS. I'm working on getting all ratings to 60 by the end of the season I can. I was made a MLB starter at the start. One interesting thing is that I did a sim to the end of the season, but I only got .0097 in MLB service time. You should get a lot more than that for 3 months.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I'd like to see some points allocated during the offseason so you can come into a new year with some skill improvements. I suppose you could treat whatever points you rack up after your last advancement as that, but it'd be a nice touch to have an option to choose an off-season training program that will assign X number of points so that when you hit spring training you can show some marked improvement from year to year.Pine for the pork of the porcupineComment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Still in a bit of a slump. Hit 2 homeruns during said slump so that's a positive. On another note one of the round trippers I hit was a 450 ft shot to left field at Citi Field. It went into the section that is kind of attached to the upper deck and it looked as if there was some concessions towards the back and I swear it said Astros on the wall.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Weird thing - starting pitcher, called up to the Majors by the Mets. In my second season for the Mets, but every time I complete my advancement goals I get a message saying something along the lines of "Good job, but we can't promote you yet (for various reasons.)" I'm a starting pitcher, in the Majors, #2 in the rotation. What are they talking about?Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Maybe they mean promote you to the ace pitcher but idk. But how are you getting messages from your manager? The only time I get a message from him is when I ask for something first... is there a screen I'm missing or something?Comment
