It's at the point I'm just going to skip training in RTTS.
I'm with you there on baserunning. My speed is around 70 now, not sure of my baserunning stats, but they are lower, in the 40's. I get gunned down every time the manager calls for a steal or hit & run in the game (the batter makes contact maybe 1 in 5 times). And I can't get a good jump in the baserunning training. With the tips I've gotten here, I'm at least not getting picked off so often, I'm leaning into it, but holding the stick back.

How far in are you and what level is your training session? I'm into late June and I'm still getting the other trainings. My last training was a "good at-bat" training for level 2, which I failed. Got 3 "ok" at-bats, and only 4 good ones, needed 5 to pass. And my other batter got a Discipline training for his last one, at level 1, which he passed. I think he's now passed level 1 for all trainings except baserunning.

I'm late in the 4th season. I'm level 4 with Contact and Level 3 with the rest. haven't seen any of the others since at least last season.

One other note-It's rare for anyone to get a LTC in RTTS before age 28. I saw Drew Stubbs get a 5 year deal the 1st year at 26, but that's been it.

I started with TNK/PB's sliders, but I've moved them around a little bit after comparing to some of the other sets. Still, that's an excellent place to start.

Right now, I have CPU Pitcher Control at 4, CPU Pitcher Consistency at 6 and CPU Strike Frequency at either 1 or 0. Still see a whole ton of strikes, but since I've gone to those, I've drawn a couple of walks (and swung and missed at ball 4 a few times).

Seems like I'm almost always hitting with 2 strikes on me, though.

I may try Bobhead's version though, he has Control and Frequency at 5, but Consistency low, and a number of other changes. In some ways, kind of opposite thinking, and I'm curious to see how that plays.

But there are some consistent changes in all of the slider sets - things like lowering user solid hits, fielder run speed, & reliever stamina (user & CPU), increasing fielding errors and manager hook, stuff like that.

All of them lower the wind slider, but the newest patch lowered the wind effects, so I wonder if that one can be left alone now.

No idea if this has been said...but, They need to fix the off-season in road to the show. 4 time league MVP and the only team that offers me a contract every year is the team i was already on. So unrealistic. So i have to beg to be traded, and it never happens. It's like I'm stuck on the team that drafted me.

Heh, my 3b is still hitting below .200 in July, but that's more because I suck than him sucking. My shortshop was hitting below .200 at the end of May, but now in late June he's raised his average to .256 or so.

I was going to start messing with the default view, I was reading some of the other threads about trying different camera angles to get a better read on the ball. I try too hard to get walks and end up hitting in bad counts all the time, so my average stinks and I've struck out way too much.

Actually, that is true to life. The team that drafted you has your rights for 6 years. So unless they release you, or put you on waivers, or non-tender you in December, no other team can even offer to you. If they don't offer you a contract, then yeah, other teams can then jump in and make offers. But if you're playing well, there's little chance they will non-tender you.

Your first free agent year is 2018, I think. If you have less than 6 years of service, there are some arbitration years in there, and I think certain contracts will offer to buy out arbitration years (usually in exchange for agreeing to longer term of service). But that doesn't change your free agency start.

I figure that the best way to get yourself on another team at the start of your RTTS career would be to totally suck - not spend any of your training points during the year so your ratings don't go up and don't be all that great stat-wise either. Then, there's a greater chance they'll non-tender you and you'll then have a shot at maybe picking the team you want to be on, although on a lousy deal. Just pick a 1 year contract, sign with them and then spend all those saved points. Now, I'll say this - I haven't tried this, so no guarantee it will work!

Well, finished up ther 4th year in RTTS. I finished with a .353 BA. 55 HR, and 140 RBI. I won both the MVP, Silver Slugger, and Hank Aaron Awards. I also won the Triple Crown, beating out Longoria by 2 RBI.We lost pretty quickly to the Phillies in the NLCS.

Then the 2014 bug hit with a vengeance. I saw the worst trade ever-RF Jay Bruce to Dodgers for RF Jeff Francoeur. Looking back, I should have reloaded to see if it happened again. He's still got 2 years left at 2.5 million/yr, so it was premature. Also, the Dodgers signed Joey Votto to a 1 yr, 3.4 million deal. At least they had a good offseason. In Spring of 2015 now.

Anyone else having a hard time seeing the baseball as it's pitched in some parks? I had this problem during day games in certain minor league stadiums with either the sky or certain buildings in the foreground but last night I played a day game at Jacobs Field (Ya, I know) and I couldn't see the ball come out of the pitchers hand thanks to the backdrop. I struck out 3 straight times before it became dusk and than cranked a double into the gap.

So, Jacobs Field day games can be very difficult to see the ball out of the pitchers hand. Any other MLB stadiums have this problem?
I'd like to talk to you about a serious problem. Packs of wild dogs that have taken over most of the major cities.

Update on my player who is the starting cf for the Orioles in 2013:

I have been on a huge year the second half of the season. I batted .279 in both of my first two seasons in the MLB and was batting just tick over .300 at the All-Star Break in my third year, then i caught fire. I went on a 25 game hitting streak until King Felix broke it up. At the end of the streak my average was at .328.

Now there are just 11 games left in the regular season and I have led the Orioles to a seven game lead in the AL East! My average has ballooned to .340 and I have 40 hr, 97 rbi, and 52 stolen bases. Incredible considering my average stats in my previous years of my career. All of this has been in the lead off spot. I've been waiting to be moved in a better rbi spot in the lineup but I think my speed keeps me in the top spot.

I'm going we do good in the playoffs. The Orioles have a pretty good lineup with:
                              Markakis
                              Mark Reynolds
                              Alex Gordon
                              David Wright
                              Yunel Escobar
                              and staff ace Matt Cain.

I have a real problem seeing the ball in Detroit during day games. There is a white building in the background that keeps me from picking pitches up until midway through the game.
