What pitches do you guys recommend? I am creating a RH starter that is fairly balanced, I was thinking maybe RFB, CIR, 12-6 curve, and then end up adding a cutter and a slider.

Dude, you don't have to be rude about it. I'm just explaining what the game is actually awarding points on. Weak contact = OK at bat, solid contact = good at-bat, pretty much regardless of the result of the play. There is a slight bump in points depending on how many pitches were taken, and I think what the count is when you connect. Clutch situations add more points. If you look at the post-game scoring, it probably said "weak hit" for that at-bat of yours.

And yes, I think it needs tweaking too, which is why I pointed you to the feedback thread about the topic. It does even out over time, with all the hard-hit outs, but still needs fixing.

As far as how much baseball I know, well, let's just say I've been watching baseball longer than most of the average board posters have been alive.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

God ****ING DAMN IT. I started the 2015 season, played 10 games and was hitting like .480 with 5 homers and 13 RBI (unreal), and then after a game, my PS3 just shuts off for no reason.

I don't have auto save on because it takes like 30 years to save and I don't want to wait forever after every single RTTS game. I didn't save, and now I have to start the year over and play those, and sim through ST again, and do the training sessions.

**** **** **** I'm so pissed. Yeah 10 games won't take that long, but it's annoying because I started so well and I built up a lot of XP.

Between this, and my credit card getting jacked for $1900 because of the PSN bull****, I want to murder every single person at Sony. I'm getting my money back, but it's a huge inconvenience right now to go through that.

Hopefully this isn't a sign of my PS3 bricking. I don't know the symptoms and it's never happened to me, but I'll be very mad if I have to go buy a new PS3. I'm not playing this game for a week. **** this.

Yes, I mad.

Thanks. I'm not going to be playing for a bit, this really annoyed me. I hadn't played RTTS in like a week, I'd just been doing my season. Then I play it, do well, and this happens. Very frustrating.

Well, as it turns out, I DID get traded from the Indians... back to the Orioles!

Very odd career path so far:
- Drafted by the Reds
- Traded from Reds to Orioles at trading deadline in first season
- Traded from Orioles to Indians about 60 games into second season
- Traded from Indians BACK to Orioles at deadline in 3rd season

On top of that, right before they traded me, the Indians RE-acquired Drew Pomeranz from the Cardinals. I know it's not out of the norm for a prospect to get traded around several times before making the Show, but I just found it funny that two different teams re-acquired prospects they'd already traded.

This is such a basic question that I can't find an answer because the search terms are too general.

Is there a way in RTTS to turn off phony trades of other players?

I don't care how many times or to whom I'm traded (unless I land with the Astros). But, I would like to play on and against teams made up of players who are currently or recently on those teams. For example, it's just weird seeing Votto and Soriano on the Giants and the Padres made up mostly of what appear to be computer-generated players.

Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, no. They don't give us any roster control during RTTS because you could then just promote yourself when you wanted to.

They really need to work on the trade logic, it's pretty flawed in favor of dumping contracts/older players in favor of young players with high potential. In my 3B career, with Atlanta, they just traded Tim Hudson (this is in July 2011) to the RedSox for a AAA shortshop, and it wasn't Jose Iglesias. Very unlikely that trade happens in real life.

Either that or give the RTTS player a "veto" over trades.

I'm not sure about that one. You can edit your player to wear glasses, but when I looked at that, it was not sunglasses, just regular ones. And I don't remember seeing anything in the accessories about wearing sunglasses at all, even when in the field. I'm not playing any outfielders right now, my 3B/LF is starting at 3B right now, so I'm not sure it ever put the flip-down shades on outfielders or anything like that. Never seen any so far.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

I know it's been awhile since my last update. But I've been playing franchise mode and i've been really busy with finals.

Player update: I started out the 2012 year with the White Sox AAA Affiliate(Knights). I started out slow batting .087 after 10 games at home to start the season. But as soon as I hit the road games I started to get some quality at bats in making solid contact.

Now it's 16 games into the season and i'm batting:

.273 with 1 HR 8 RBI and 9 SO in 55 at bats! I nearly have as many strike outs as I do hits(15)
My OBP isn't looking to great either at .298. I've only managed to work 2 walks so far. When I play on franchise mode I can get at least 3 walks per game, but in RTTS i'm usually swing-happy especially with RISP.

As for the organization, hopefully I can get traded soon. This team isn't doing to well, and personally, i'd like to go to a team that's rebuilding, or at least has a plethora of young talent.

I got traded from the Phillies to the Tigers straight up for Magglio Ordonez. I don't get why the Phillies hemorrhaged their 3B depth (which was awful even before they traded me) to get another old-guy outfielder.

So I do agree with you, the trade logic needs improved. I'm not sure if your player can have veto power, however. Trades happen with or without consent of players. Maybe it could be an option that can be turned on or off depending on your preferred play style.
