Re: How Many Skill Points To Buy (rtts)
Ok good. I'm pretty sure my USB drive is 1GB, so I should easily be able to fit the RTTS and the Season. I have to double check to make sure it's 1GB, though. Thanks.Comment

Re: How Many Skill Points To Buy (rtts)
I will jump off a cliff if I can't turn my system on, though. All that work, for nothing. And my history of losing RTTS (which I mentioned in a previous post a page back), would be incredibly deflating and I probably wouldn't have the ambition to start another. Which would suck, because it is so much fun.Comment

Well, I cannot provide a technical support, but is it hard drive that's dying? If it is, maybe you are entirely out of luck, but if not you might be able to salvage the data off the healthy hard drive using a different PS3.
I do that all the time with PC but not with PS3, so not sure if it excatly works though. I heard PS3 filesystem is encrypted so you cannot do all this with PC....
Reason why backing stuff up is essential. And reason why I hated it when SCEA first protected and locked the save file pre patch...Comment

Choose the cliff wisely...

I don't know how it could overheat, it's right out in the open, and I take real good care of my system. I don't know, we'll see what happens, I guess.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Is there a way to set sounds of the show walk ups while in RTTS? It's not in the Sounds of the Show edit player section that I have found.
I am in my 5th season and am seeing some teams with a lot of call ups of players without a walk up song, and would like to give it to them.
I have all the default roster starters and the A potential guys with sounds, but of course all of the rosters are a mess in my RTTS so it makes it hard to figure out where some of these guys came from and assign them music from the main menu.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
hey guys, i'm having a ton of run with rtts right now! this is the 3rd one i have done on 11 and i have finally found one i am going to stick with. i played through a whole season on my last one but there were way to many big name players being traded and signed in the offseason and i always messed up my contract so i started a new one.
this time though, i just fine tuned the sliders a little higher to make it easier cause let's be honest, it's a lot of fun dominating with yourself in rttsi prefer to have a very realistic franchise going, and a "fun" rtts.
so anyways, i created myself. 3b/of, switch hitter. only slider i put all the way on the creation screen was power. i left the other ones where they were. i was drafted by the brewers.
i now have finished one year and am in the middle of spring training in year 2. i was in AA with the huntsville stars until july 30th when i was called up to the AAA nashville sounds.
i have my contact up to the mid 50s and my power to the low 70s for both r/l pitchers. durability is into the mid 60s and fielding ability is too. i'm having a lot of fun with this and plan to keep going. hopefully i will get called up to the brew crew halfway through year two although i don't mind being in AAA to keep racking up the pts.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Lately I have been getting booed on the road every time my name is announced. Does that always happen on the road, or am I the most hated player in the National League?
I can't imagine my torrid .241 batting average qualifies me as a villain.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
anybody else struggling to hit once they make it to the pros.
i got sliders adjusted and everything for human to right and i'm always swing late. trying to find a good camera.
if i do manage to hit the ball it's a pop up infield or a weak grounder that don't go pass the pitcher most of the time.
i need some help hitting or a good camera angleComment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Well, I couldn't turn my PS3 on. I'm so ****ing mad right now. Sony is ****ing ******** for not making the Hard Drives transferrable like Xbox's. I am so pissed off, I don't even want to start a new RTTS once my PS3 is fixed. I don't even want to get my PS3 fixed. What's the point if it's just going to happen again eventually? $500 for a system that "overheats" and you lose all your data, after you pay $150 to have it "refurbished". What a rip off. I am very angry.
Not to mention someone hacked my bank account and took out $1900, guaranteed they took my information from PSN. I want to kill somebody right now.Comment

I am always skeptical about doing that kind of stuff, but it was a last resort. I did it, it worked, and I was able to save my stuff to a USB stick. First off, anyone reading this thread who hasn't backed up their stuff, do it right now. I kept my system in MINT condition, and I still got YLOD'd.
I used the hair dryer for about 25 minutes, and cooled it with a fan for around 15. It started right up, and stayed on throughout my saves. I know by reading the YouTube comments that it's only a temporary fix, so I'll be sending for my PS3 coffin tomorrow, but I'm elated I'll get to continue to enjoy this wonderful game, MLB The Show.
Because as much as I love the game, if I wasn't able to recover my saves, I would've probably stopped playing the game altogether. When I got the RTTS crash glitch in MLB 09, I never touched it again, and skipped out on MLB 10. It just takes so much work to get to a certain point, I would never have the ambition to do it all again. 5 RTTS seasons, and 2 months of a Red Sox season, played every single game. It would've ruined it for me.
So this story has somewhat of a happy ending, I suppose. And the Red Sox won tonight on a 2 run walk off double from Adrian Gonzalez after being down 6-0. That's pretty good. Now if my Bruins win tomorrow, this will be a near perfect 24 hours.
I also saved this picture I took, of my 3rd career at bat in the major leagues. I hit a walk off 3 run home run, down 2 in the ninth with 2 outs. Name edited for my anonymity:

For anyone who has this problem (Yellow Light Of Death), watch this video:

Good for you. Always a good idea to back up all your data, whether it's game or work or school stuff..Comment
