I'm still playing every game, just because I just got the starter gig, and you get more points if you play than if you sim it. I won't start simming long periods until I'm up in the 80's across the board or so.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I'm going into my 3rd season in the majors and I'm still playing all the games, but I'm getting to the point where I might start simming some. The main reason being I'm on the cubs and we stink and I have 2 more years on my contract and they wont trade me.Battle.net: xXKING08Xx

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I don't straight-sim, but I will start the game and fast-forward to the end. I do that 1 games out of every 2. I may change that to 2/3 or 3/4 down the line though. You won't get benefit of the Performance Evaluator with a straight sim, but you will if you fast forward.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Well, I just found another annoying bug. I was pitching a simulated game for training and balked by accident. Then everyone just stood around...hit every button on the controller...and nothing. Had to reset the game.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I'm starting to sense many of you purchased those extra SP points from the PSN Store to get a cheat boost. Because the A.I. logic in this game is abysmal and I'm not getting called up to AAA and it's year 2014. I've batted .323, .374, .312, and currently .302 and hadn't got called up once to AAA. It's ridiculous. So unless you guys purchased those cheats, someone explain how in the world are you getting called up so fast?
Now in my other RTTS, I'm a pitcher and got called up to AAA in my first season halfway through. Make sense. I'm 7-1 with a 1.94 era. Mowing down guys like I'm Randy Johnson.
But playing another position in this game is a joke no matter what it seems. And I've started over three times already because of the poorly done Manager A.I.Comment

You've played a lot further than I have, so I can't speak as to whether I see the same behavior - I haven't purchased any points either, though.Comment

The PSN store isn't back up yet. The network is up for online play, but the store is supposed to be back up next week (I think the 24th). Once that's back up, you should be able to buy stuff again.Comment

The PS Store is coming back three days after the Rapture? Lot of good that will do us.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Had a problem with having my first baseman play in CF. I have no secondary positions so that was weird and went on for a few days. Then I start up a game, and I find I get pulled right when the game starts. I sim a day and it says I made to the show. My first two homeruns were walkoffs. And Derek Lee was traded so I'm the top 1st baseman on the O's.Comment

I wonder if the manager will adjust my advancement goals on account of the Rapture. There is no way I can draw 8 walks before then.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I’ve come to the conclusion that the cpu cheats. Not all the time but enough to cause me to say ‘what the fduck was that.’ Examples: cpu wants me to have an error so while in LF I move for a fly ball like normal and position myself but my avatar doesn’t raise his glove causing the ball to hit me in the head. (like I need help missing fly balls); when stealing a base I can be on top of the bag when I’m tagged but I get called out; when needing a key hit I hit a hard shot to the outfield, its either the outfielder is standing there and doesn’t have to move or he makes a highlight real catch, multiple times a game. These are just some examples and I’m sure I’m not alone.
<O</O
Side note: last night I hit a triple off the RF wall getting an RBI and I get an OK at bat for 5 points then hit a fly ball out getting 6 points. Just another scratch my head moment.Last edited by Rabid_Ron; 05-20-2011, 03:46 PM.Comment

I was promoted rather quickly to AAA and MLB with the White Sox, but I hit a road block in MLB with Dayan Viciedo in RF ahead of me. It took me a whole year of being on the bench (wasted rookie year) and back down in AAA before I managed to get a shot in RF with Viciedo being moved to DH. My overall is still a C (probably 21st in the 25-man roster), but my player's speed, baserunning, and hitting ratings are good enough for the AI to place me in the lineup, 8th and 9th, but I won't complain when the White Sox are fielding this current lineup:
CF Colby Rasmus (traded Alex Rios and two prospects for him)
2B Gordon Beckham
C Miguel Montero
1B Adam Dunn
LF I can't remember
SS Alexei Ramirez
DH Dayan Viciedo
RF My RTTS Player
3B Brent Morel
I'm also in 2014. If this helps with comparison, here's the yearly breakdown of my RTTS Career and what roles he's been in:
2011:
Boston Red Sox
April - AA Bench, played almost every day though at all three OF positions.
Mid-May - Starter at RF
Mid-June - Traded to the White Sox along with two other prospects for Matt Thorton
Mid-June - AA Bench, only played once or twice a week.
Mid-August - AA Starter at RF
Gained 11 points overall.
2012:
April - AA Starter at RF
Mid-May - AA Bench, played once or twice a week.
Mid-June - AAA Starter at RF
July - Demoted to AA Bench
August - AA Starter at RF
Mid - August - Promoted to AAA Bench
September - Placed on 40-Man Roster, Promoted to MLB, did not play a single game.
Gained 12 points overall.
2013:
April - MLB Bench, only had 35 at-bats up until the All-Star Break.
June - Demoted to AAA Bench
Mid-June - AAA Starter at RF
Mid-September - Promoted to MLB, didn't play a single game.
Gained 5 points overall.
2014:
April - MLB Bench, got more playing this year
Mid-April - Promoted to MLB Starter at RF.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
how is everybody hitting the ball with timing, classic, or analog.
I struggle to hit ball no matter what i use even on rookie.
Can't find a camera angle that is good also.
This is my first purchase of a mlb game on these generation consoles.
my ratings range between those numbers and a -5.
example my contact on left handed pitchers is between 65-70
