You're only signed to a 1 year deal in 2011. If you don't sign a contract with your team the next year, any other team can sign you. The 6 years has to with years of MLB service. It's why you rarely see RTTS players promoted to the majors too soon. Teams don't want to start the arbitration clocking ticking too early.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
hey guys, i currently am a LF drafted by the cleveland indians and am now about halfway through june. i was hitting really well (be it on rookie :P) using zone hitting and guess pitch 1/4 feedback..but now i have just seemed to hit a major slump. it is due to me just not being patient. i for some reason feel like it is so hard to be patient in this game..
my question for you all is, what settings are you all using?
i for one really miss being able to see the location AND pitch when you guess right from previous versions of the game. that really was a help for me being able to draw walks and not chase bad pitches.
i am thinking about starting over and using timing hitting with NO guess pitch.. any suggestions?? thanks

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I understand that it's tied to ML service team, but the point is that if don't have ANY ML service time, they still have your rights regardless of whether you sign the contract they offer or not. Was it like this in 09' and 10'? Because I never knew that was allowed in this game.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Weird. That kind of defeats the purpose of them adding that stuff in, then.
Anyway, after a couple of months in the bully, I finally made the AA rotation. I pitched well out of the pen, ERA of just over 3.00 and about a K per inning. But I was put into bad situations and had an 0-4 record. But since going to the rotation, I have been winning like Charlie Sheen and am now 3-4.Last edited by metal134; 03-12-2011, 05:31 PM.A screaming comes across the sky...Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
My biggest issue with RTTS at this point is the at bat rating system. I really don't have any problems with it except that it doesn't rate my type of hitting very well. I try to keep the ball up the middle as much as possible, and it rarely gives me good at bats for singles up the middle on the ground (unless its a rbi), when in actuality that's what you want to do.Comment

So I might not have to play AAA ball my second season since Marlins 1st base is too good.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
im a 1B i focused on power. The most of my training initially went to contact to get that up. I finished the year with .389 51 HR and 142 RBIs so I tailed off in the endComment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I turned strike consistency all the way down, and I still can't eek out a large amount of walks. Its a bonafide strikefest still.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I avg probably 90 walks per year in previous MLB games..Right now, I have 7 and it is the end of May. I've never struck out that much (have 11 right now, mostly on bad calls). Coupled with the fact that the strike zone is abnormally large and you have this strike fest as others are calling it.est 1978

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I played for White Sox the first spring game. But the next game I subsitituted for the Marlins. So it looks like I am on the Marlins now. But, I am steady switching between White SOx and Marlins. It is like I skipped AAA
I am doing Terrible in the Spring Traing. 1-11 hitting. I have not got any pitches inside at all when I am Pinch Hitting.
I simmed the rest of Spring Training. I only got 1 offer, from my original team. I got a 1 year Starting Contract. Since I waited until Regular season, I got a starting contract instead of a AAA contract. So I didnt have to play AAA ball much at all.
I am still playing for the Marlins though. It looks like I am playing for 2 teams.
I had a horrible start against the Phillies. 4 SOs and a Flyout.Last edited by illwill10; 03-12-2011, 07:22 PM.Comment
