I don't think my slump was that bad, but over the course of a few weeks I dropped from .350 down to .275 (and have since gotten back up to .300). A lot of it was just hitting into bad luck - line drives right at outfielders instead of finding the gaps.

Which batting mode are you using? If it's anything other than zone, it's best to accept that there will be some cold streaks that cannot be helped. That's because analog and timing do not give you full control over where you swing (analog gives you left and right, but timing gives you nothing). So even if you time your swing perfectly, you can still weakly ground out to the 2B or even swing and miss.

If you had success early on, don't knee-jerk to a slider or setting change - let it play out and try to get back on track. Streaks can be very pronounced in this game, hot and cold.

      0-57. 32 K's.

I'm the anti Joe DiMaggio. First year in AA I hit .272. 3/4 of the way through year two I am still in AA hitting .210. I'm in the Jays organization but I'm sure I look pretty good to the Cubs right about now. ZING!!!! (I'm a Cincy fan.)

When I got called up to AAA in a earlier RTTS my avg. dropped to the upper .100's.... very depressing..

I'm in my first year of AA ball (September) and I'm enjoying this mode quite a bit. One thing, however, is I'm wondering if anyone is having an issue w/ how the AI deals with injury replacement? Also, how are your line ups and rotations shaping up?

I like my bullpen...its realistic IMO. But my lineup is all over the place and the injury replacement for Beckett is downright awful, specially if you consider that 4 of my AAA starters have sub 3.00 ERA's.

The Sox current line up is 1. Crawford; 2. A Gon; 3. Salty; 4. Papi; 5. Youk; 6. Pedey; 7. Ells; 8. Drew; 9. Scutaro.

          Rotation:
          1. Lester; 2. Buch; 3. JENKS ; 4. Lackey; 5. Daisuke

LR Wakefield; MR Albers; Reyes; Atchison; SU Okajima, Wheeler; CP Papelbon.

I'm really more curious than anything as to what others are seeing.
Also, this is more of a mini rant than anything and I do offer my hats off to the dev team as this is another job well done.

Started over as now I know more about the game -- was called up to AAA after 1 sub start in AA ball

Does anyone know if you guess pitch and it's the wrong one, does your PCI shrink?

It does. Visibly and in real time, if you actually have the PCI graphic turned on. And it will get even smaller if you guess both pitch and location wrong.

That represents a loss of contact ability, making it harder to put a solid swing on the ball (more likely to miss or make very weak contact).

                @bcruise

This isn't even more worse slump. I went below the mendoza in 09, 0-55. It was amazing, I had HR's robbed, massive line drives, base hits called errors and lots and lots of K's.

I use the push button approach to hitting for my player. I'm slowly working on the timing with analog controls but not willing to risk that development in my RTTS.

I never change my sliders because 80% of the joy I get out of the game is watching my guy grow and develop him into a certain type of player. This RTTS I'm maxing my power out at 75 and contact at 85 but with 90 speed and a 99 cannon arm to replicate a solid .300, 25-30 HR CF who can steal bags and gun anyone out. I've already done the max 99 guy in 2009 so I'm trying something different this season.
I'd like to talk to you about a serious problem. Packs of wild dogs that have taken over most of the major cities.

I'm currently in the majors with the Cardinals and they have matt Capps in the rotation for some reason.

got called up to the majors and hit a major slump that im just now starting to work out of, in 14 games i went 9 for 53 .170avg, 6 runs, 1 double, 2 home runs, 6rbi, 6 stolen bases. but my last 4 games ive hit my 2 home runs and drove in 5 rbi's so maybe things are getting better now.

Brand new to posting in the forum but not brand new to reading the forum for great information and the updates on how people are doing in the game.

I'm brand new to the game and it's taken a lot of time to get used to it. But after a fews weeks of trial and error and a lot of practice I'm an accomplished "rookie".

I started a RTTS a week or so ago as a 3B and was drafted by the Cubs. I wasn't happy about the situation but I thought that I'd play it out. I played well enough to make the AA All-Star team and the very next game I got injured and was put on the 60-day DL and it put me way behind on progressing...typical for being a Cubs player. I requested to get traded multiple times but it didn't happen. After starting the 2012 season as the starting 3B for the AAA team I decided that I would start a new RTTS player.

So I started again as a 3B and I was drafted by the Padres. I'm only 5 games in as a bench player but feel better about my situation and I have enough practice under my belt that I should start out better than I did during my stint with the Cubs AA affiliate, the Smokies. ;-) My first training session was a base running thing, it was the first time that I ever had to try to steal a base and I was horrible...horrible. I normally don't handle the base running chores, I leave that up to the game, I hit and play the field. Anyway, I am hooked on this game.

Finished the 1st season of my RTTS season with a Reds farmhand 3B.I spent most of the year as AA starter, but got a cup of coffee at AAA near the end. The Bats made the playoffs, and I made a strong statement in the final playoff game with 2 HR. I put most of my points into contact, power, fielding , and speed-since those improve your overall. I got Contact and Power to 60, the others to 50.I hit around .350, 10 HR, and 65 RBI for the season. I'll wait for the patch before I move to the offseason.

I just have a couple of pretty decent trades to pass along (my rtts is with knights rosters) so I am a CF drafted to the mets and midway through june the mets traded David Wright (which sucks because he's one of my favorite players) and chris young to the twins for Miguel Sano and Kyle Gibson, and a few weeks later the Mets traded Jose Reyes, johan santana and I can not remember the 3rd player to the A's for Desmond jennings. (I guess he was traded to the A's from the Rays at some point)

SO I think these are pretty realistic trades.

So I just picked this game up today and jumped right into RTTS and like all the additions. But I have a few very very small gripes, maybe I'm just missing something.

When playing outfield and the ball is in play after I track it down the screen doesn't turn around like in previous games. I'm 90% sure in previous MLB titles the screen always turned around when you fielded the ball so you can see where the runners are. I know I can look at the little base icon on the screen, but it is annoying not knowing where my throw is going and If I got the player out on the bases or not until after the play. Am I doing something wrong here?

Also playing outfield I liked being able to use the R stick before the pitch to zoom in or out and look around. I can't do that so far, same when I'm a baserunner. Kinda annoying as I always enjoyed doing this.

Hold L2 down then use the right stick to look around. I don't like how the camera doesn't saying around after a catch either.

If you haven't tried yet, hold L2 down while running the bases, it makes it much easier. While holding it down just press the button that corresponds to the base you want to run too.
