Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread

After a very slow start I got my timing down and now I'm hitting .308 with 4 HRs and 21 RBIs. Now the starting 3B for AA Padres team, the Missions. Which might be the worst fielding team....ever.

If you haven't tried yet, hold L2 down while running the bases, it makes it much easier. While holding it down just press the button that corresponds to the base you want to run too.

      Thanks!

I actually started a new RTTS last night as a second baseman. I played outfield in RTTS the previous 2 titles so I thought I would try something new. I'm enjoying it so far, even though I've been playing first base 90% of the time, and hardly ever second base lol.

I was drafted by the Brewers and I'm currently an AA starter in the last week of April 2011. I created a speedy contact guy. After I get my speed and contact numbers high, I will then work on power. I've been batting leadoff the majority of the time.

I don't have the game in front of me but so far I'm batting .305 with 0 HR and 2 RBI. I like having the contact button now for hitting as it was helped me when I'm in a 0-2 situation at the plate to just make contact and put the ball in play.

I decided to try Rtts after playing franchise for a while and i'm enjoying it.

I made a contact switch hitter 3rd baseman.
I was drafted by the braves doing good then i was traded to the indians for Grady Siezmore and a relief pitcher.(hope i get traded again)

The only thing is that i was thrown out stealing so the manager warned me that if i tried to steal again he would bench me. after i was traded i succesfully stole a base and recieved an email saying that i was warned and i have now been benched. that sorta confused me.

What's everyone got for Manager Hook for pitchers?Unless I get knocked around, my manager always wants me to go 9, even if I am out of energy after 6.

Has anyone successfully requested a new position yet? I made the majors out of spring training in my second year and then took the starting 3B job from Youk after a few weeks.

Before this, the Sox signed Ryan Church and Garret Anderson to play right field in the offseason and left Kalish in AAA.
To complicate it, Youk was tearing the cover off the ball while Papi (DH), Church and Anderson all have been horrible and for some reason while the Sox won't put Youk at DH.

So to try and remedy all of this, I've attempted to move to RF numerous times w/o success so that Youk can move back into the line up at 3B.

After searching the thread and not finding any posts of success, I'm hoping someone has been able to do so by now and would like to share their victorious story .

I have the opposite but very similar problem. I am a RF for the Diamond Backs with a back up position of 3B. I took the job from a kid (Ryan Sweeney, I have no idea what's going on with the front office) who was batting .400 to start the year and in the running for MVP. We are thin at 3B with only 4 players in the organization, I think Juan Uribe is playing there and stinking up the joint. I keep trying to switch to 3B so we can get Sweeney's bat into the line up regularly, plus he is a better fielder than me and my manager keeps saying "Our defense is best with you in RF".

First of all Skipper that's not even true, second I want our offense to be better.

I've been playing RTTS since MLB 07 or 08 and have never successfully switched positions, so good luck.

Just got traded to the Yankees and am on Trenton. Trying to become a Carl Crawford type LF.

While I hate the Yankees in real life, it would be kind of cool hitting in that stadium as a lefty.

I know how you feel. I'm with Toronto too. Horrible team. They seem to have traded away all their young talent (except me) away. But just like in real life, you can't always get traded out of a bad team.

However, constantly ask because I had the problem two years ago and I finally got traded, all be it to a still bad Tigers team.
I'd like to talk to you about a serious problem. Packs of wild dogs that have taken over most of the major cities.

I keep getting benched for stealing 2nd base even though the hit and run is on.

I'm getting a little better at analog hitting. If I pull back on the stick earlier I have more time to make a decision. The tutorial says you should pull back when the pitcher releases the ball but I seem to have better success if I begin my stride earlier (during the final stages of the pitcher windup).

Is there any way to avoid being traded in RttS? I picked the Rangers as my RttS SP's team because they are my hometown team, but I'm stuck... the team keeps trading me to Toronto for some AAA CF. I've tried re-loading, but every time I try and go to my next appearance, I get traded. I really don't want to play for Toronto...

The only Manager Interactions I have are "Position Change" (move from bullpen to starting rotation), and "Demand a Trade" (opposite of what I want). I've tried using the Position Change option to move to the starting rotation, but the only difference it makes is that I get to be in Toronto's starting lineup instead of their bullpen. Is there anything I can do?

Got the "Daddy Long Legs" trophy today. I had no idea what it was, I smashed a triple off the center field wall, and because it was Father's day, I got the trophy. Pretty cool, lucky too.

That's my third triple of the year, and we're only in June and I have like 55 speed. I guess the arms in AAA outfields aren't too strong. The last two years I've had multiple triples, as well.

Great. Just great. I'm on the best run of games I've ever had. Dinking home runs and getting on base consistently...and suddenly my PS3 bricks.

2B/SS (Bowie Baysox AA for O's) I'm lighting up AA pitching about half way through my first season. Hitting around .450 with 16 HR's and 46 R'sBI. I keep getting told I'm doing great but there isn't a spot for me right now. I'll be patient though. The AA allstar game is about 2 weeks away and I'm leading in votes for 2B. I'm hoping the Orioles trade B Rob before the trade deadline and that should at least get me to AAA. Actually I wouldn't mind them bringing me up at Short, come to think of it that would be even better!
