That is funny, that happened to me too. I was drafted by the Sea Dogs and after a couple of months I was traded to the Marlins for the same two players. I was a 3b though. I did pretty well on the Marlins AA team but that team is awful

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Finally made it to the show in 2013 as a September call up to the Cardinals.
Did okay. We were 5 games out of the Wild Card with 3 weeks to go, and we went on a nice run and won the Wild Card by 2 games. I hit 2 homeruns, including a walk off 3 run bomb when we were down by 1 in the 9th. Felt good man.
I didn't get to play in the playoffs though, because I wasn't on the roster by August 31st. We lost in the NLDS in 4 games to the Phillies anyway. I'm not starting the 2013-2014 offseason until that patch comes out. Hopefully that will be soon so I can continue.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
I think plate vision increases your chances of getting good wood on the ball even when your timing is off. Plate Vision has the most effect when you're using Timing hitting. My player plate vision is at 99 and even when I swing late or early he still manages the smoke the ball out of the park because my plate vision is so high. If I would of had a low plate vision it wouldn't had been a home run.Comment

Got drafted by the Washington Nationals with my power hitting first baseman and I'm really hoping I can join Ryan Zimmerman, Jayson Werth, Bryce Harper, Cutter Dystra and Stephen Strasburg to make a World Series Championship team in DC... here are a couple of highlights and my player card

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
This mode is preventing me from hopping into the real games, it's that good for me.
I turned off fielding and base running, and am trying to make a legendary hitting 1B on All-Star difficulty.
Drafted by the Braves, playing down in Mississippi. Made the SL All-Star team as a bench player. Walked in my only appearance.
Hitting .296/6 HR/29 RBI at the break, but I'm starting the second half on fire. Just had my first ever two homerun game 2nd game back from the break.Last edited by Cover 3D; 04-17-2011, 09:41 AM.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Got through my first full MLB season on the last place Astros and won the Rookie of the Year award with my power hitting 1st baseman. I was excited for the off season to get onto a better team but was amazed that the only offer I received was from my current team. Are you kidding me? The free agent Rookie of the Year that hit 30 HRs and 80 RBIs didn't get an offer from another team? Very unrealistic.
I may start requesting to be traded. Is there any rhyme or reason to when "request a trade" pops up in Interactions, or is it luck of the draw?Comment

From what I understand another team isn't eligible to sign you until you complete 5 years or something like that if I'm not mistaken. So definitely if you don't want to stay with the 'Stros go ahead and request that trade and then wait it out for a deal to go through.
I was playing with my pitcher and just got traded but never requested a trade... so I thought that was cool... Brewers traded me (currently in AAA) to the Royals for Luke Hochevar and two minor leaguers that were on their Triple A team. I was hoping that they would've just called me up because from the looks of things I'll only be making one start with the Royals AAA team before punching my ticket to "The Show"http://www.twitter.com/jconWORD <- FOLLOW ME! ...WORD!Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Under normal circumstances it would be 6 years. With the FA bug, however it can be a lot sooner. My SP got offered a 1 yr, 10 million dollar deal by the Angels after only 2 years in the minors after I progressed to a A overall, without playing 1 game at the MLB level.I deleted that RTTS because I felt it was unrealistic.
Year 1-30K
Year 2-500K
Year 3-11,250,000
It's definitely a lot harder to make a CP then a SP. I never had to buy points as a SP. I bought 5000 points as a CP and I'm still getting hit hard ad failing goals. I've been warned after failing twice. I may really lower the contact and power sliders.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
ARRRGHHHH!!!! Son of a *$&%#@! I restarted my RttS SP because the Rangers were intent on dealing me to the Rockies for some CF, but now they're intent on dealing me to the Cubs for a CF.
I just want to pitch for the Rangers... why are they so intent on sending their best pitching prospect to different team for another bat when they already have one of the top hitting lineups in the majors. Right before dealing me to the Cubs the Rangers dealt CJ Wilson and Mark Lowe to the Rockies for a SS and a CF... so I have no idea why they would want to trade me too. It always happens the weekend of July 9-10.
Also, is there any way you can see the stride and swing for all the batting motions inteadd of just the stance? I tried to make a CF with Josh Hamilton's stance, but I couldn't even get him to swing 75% of the time and after 5 games with only 1 swing I went back to button swinging. That's where I found out that Hamilton's stance has a looooooooong stride and you should start the stride right after the pitcher starts his motion, not around when the ball was released like the tutotial video suggested.
Edit: False alarm... after a couple of quit/reloads I made it past the July 9-10th weekend without being traded. I'm still in late July though, I won't feel totally safe until after the trade deadline passes.Last edited by Dianwei32; 04-17-2011, 02:43 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
is anybody playing as CF.
which attribute would help with pure analog hitting.
plate vision or plate discipline.
horrible hitter but i'm slowly becoming better with hitting difficulty on legend.
I just want to create a speedster who can make contact with the ball i'm not looking for power.
Also one last thing does your position determine your batting order in RTTS.
tired of being the 1st to bat i would like to be able to in middle of rotation.Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Your skill set determines where you bat... I made a 2B with contact and speed and I hit 1st, 2nd and 6th-9th in the line up... and so far with my power hitting 1B I've been locked in 3rd in the batting order.http://www.twitter.com/jconWORD <- FOLLOW ME! ...WORD!Comment

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Im in my 2nd season in the Angels Orginization. Was in AA all year in year 1 made AA all star team then was called up with 2 weeks left in august to AAA. I actually didnt want to get called up because our team was playoff bound. Pitched bullpen final 2 weeks in AAA. Was offered a 250K contract to be in the AAA rotation. Pitched there made AAA all-star team. Called up to MLB in August to be in thier rotation. Finished season in the off-season was offered 4 yr deal for 2.4M which would put me under them for 6 years so after the contract is up I can maybe test free agency.

Re: MLB 11 "Road To The Show" thread
Ok, I am having a problem with RTTS in a very particular manner, the position player.
First off, I created a starting pitcher a la myself. He's doing terrific. For me, getting pitching points is akin to baby candy stealing. Average around 400 pts a game. Lots of complete games. A few shutouts as well. So he's doing terrific and is in AAA. He's gonna be in the majors soon.
Also, he's batting around .440 with quite a few RBIs for a pitcher in AAA. This is the crux of my problem, more to follow.
So my other player, Will Clark, a remade version of my baseball hero. Left handed, left throwing 1st baseman. Maxed left and right contact as well as left and right power right off the bat. Some fielding as well as far as I can remember. He is still in AA in his first season, I believe.
Now the issue is that I cannot remotely come close to generating the points in my position player as I can in my SP. He averages around 10-20 pts a game. He gets the majority of his points from put outs. He is a HORRIBLE batter. He swings at everything out of the strike zone and allows good pitches to go by (my frustration fueling a lot of this comment). He does have 3 hrs, is batting .263 with 27 RBIs in August of his first year. He's "starting" 1B, but only starts occasional games since his durability stinks. He's batting 3rd.
Now my first baseman should be hitting much better than my pitcher, but he certainly is not.
The only thing I can account it to is nerves. I stress out batting with my first baseman but am completely relaxed when batting with my pitcher because he has no pressure to hit, only pitch.
I have attempted to move the batting view from the default catcher to the outfield position as well as put the pitching on legend to ensure the ball goes to where the catcher sets up. No dice. Still stink and everything is set on rookie.
I am at my wits end in figuring out how to get my position player to actually earn points to get him out of this horrendous ditch he is in.
Any tips on getting more points for this guy, preferably outside of hitting, would be greatly appreciated.* Please know I am not gonna buy steroid points online.Comment

In MLB, for the first six years the team you're signed with is the only team that can offer you a contract (the only time otherwise is if the team releases the player, but that's usually for the ones that don't pan out in the majors). If you are traded, whatever time you have remaining in those six years is carried over. That's why you see many good young players signing contract extensions that will take him to their sixth year.Comment
