I'm in the last year of a 3 year, 13.5 million dollar, 4.5 million a year contract with the Reds. The Reds overpaid for my contract renewal years and maybe 1 year of arbitration. I'll be entering arbitration next offseason for the 1st time. I don't think you can refuse arbitration and enter FA in RTTS like you can in franchise. You just give what you think you're worth to the arbitrator. I got 9 million in an earlier sim I did, but that was before getting ratings to 99.I'm a SS, by the way.

If you're going to stay with your (presumably) favorite club, won't it hurt you in the end to file for arbitration? They'll have to use money on you that they might've used to get you some better teammates? Just a thought. Moot if youre kicking a$$ already.

After I finally became a free agent and didn't get a contract offer from anyone but the team that I had been on (5 time allstar), I "tried out" for my hometown O's and of course they picked me up and I gave them a big hometown discount hoping it would allow them to get some people around me. We'll see what they do this coming off season because we really need pitching. Last time I checked we were second or third in runs scored but second to last in runs given up.

I might. A lot of the young starting pitching is gone from the Reds now, along with Bruce and Votto. Stubbs is also in the last year of his contract. I might take a deal around 6 or 7 million to help the team.

Whats a good difficulty level to play on in rtts as a pitcher. Dont have my stats on me but its too easy to throw a shutout and i dont think a era of 1 is really realistic.

I'm a Nats fan. Even in that fake/supposed reality that Bryce Harper trade pisses me off...

Unless your dude is better and doesn't cuss out umps and punt kittens like Bryce supposedly does.

Oh believe me I was pissed too... I made so many trade request after that happened... if he gets called up this year and gets in a roster update I think he wouldn't have gotten traded but since he's not officially in the game he is edited from a generic player in the Nationals minor league system or was a created player by whoever handled the Nationals for the OSFM rosters... from what I was told is that if you change his position from RF to LF he doesn't get traded. The next time I do something with the Nationals I'll do that and see what happens... yeah I haven't purchased any points either... what I'm doing now is using the points I get from games and doing what I can in training to raise my ratings... and once I get my advancement goals then I put the rest of the points I earn during that period into the areas that I want to mold the player into the type of player I want him to be

I'm using HOF with Default sliders, i love the way HOF default plays for RTTS & Franchise, even when I'm not winning, just feels right.

I'm a starting pitcher, but i've been working every game out of the bullpen so far.

I'm 1-3 with an era of 3.05 through 15 games, gave up 24 hits in 20.2 innings, 13K's 6 holds, 8 runs, 7 earned, 1.16WHIP, 0 BB.

So I'm leading the league in batting average and 3rd in OBP and I'm not even top 8 in ASG voting. Totally makes sense!

Also the Athletics are dreadful. Every lead this bullpen blows. Everybody in there has an ERA over 5.00. Also, is anybody else having an RTTS where pitching is terrible league-wide? Every other pitcher I'm facing has an ERA over 6.00. My team has a team ERA of 3.99 and that's first in MLB in 2013.

I'm DONE with this mode. With my SS, I got drafted by the talent-barren White Sox, which is what I was ok with. But with my pitcher, I picked my favorite team, the Yankees, and mid way through the season, I get traded to guess who...

The White Sox. I can't stand to go another run through this organization. I think i'm going to play franchise for awhile, where I can have some sort of control over the trade logic.

I'm leading the league in AVG and OBP leading up to the All-Star Game. I'm batting 2nd for the Athletics. I'm not even in the top 50 in runs. Get me off this team!!! Incidentally, I'm on the trading block! I also went to interactions and asked to be traded! And I was told they're not trading me because I'm too valuable!

Being given green light doesn't mean you have to steal all the time, does it?

Yes I think stealing in RTTS is still a bit tough... I think I'm most successful with GREAT jump, which basically happen when I take off at the same time or even earlier than just when the pitcher delivers. But this of course is very risky, but if you are a speedster or only occasionally steal, it's worth the risk.

With increasing the BR speed slider (and possibly lowering BR ability slider as well), I had much, much easier time stealing. My guy has mostly max speed/BR abilities.

I always watch the catcher because he actually moves right before the pitcher begins his delivery. If the catcher is just chilling slapping his glove together and I see the pitcher moving in the corner of my eye, I know it's a pickoff attempt.

Restarted my RTTS fielder. I was in my 6 year and finally got on a MLB roster (via Padres Rule 5 draft). It had been my first RTTS fielder so I simmed mostly and was getting used to hitting so my player wasn't the best. Also, had a bad habit of skipping practices so I wasted so much points chasing declining traits.

Made another LF, drafted by the Phillies. Was on the bench most of the first half, got to start over an injured player two weeks prior and still made AA all-star game. Was traded the first game after to the White Sox. So far, doing good as a full time starter. Putting every spare point into Speed (my LF started off as with full Contact/Speed/Glove sliders), helps leg out those doubles for my slow butt. Bought to finish first year and go to AA playoffs. Hopefully can get up get to the next level soon.

It's a clever idea and I've tried this myself when it was suggested in another thread, but I still found it quite difficult to get a great jump for some reason.. (I also use the holding R1 + keeping L3 toward 1B technique, and slides to avoid the tag with R2.)

When I actually do BR training (I do all these training things...), it is still very hard to steal 2B when the pitcher throws fastball and has a standard delivery. Most of the time I get thrown out with "good" jump, if I wait till any visual cue from the pitcher/catcher. There's always some reaction time needed.

Then I realized "great" jumps mostly happen when I take off right when the pitcher starts his delivery. Which of course requires me to anticipate what the pitcher does... pure guess work. Otherwise I'm always about 0.4 sec into the pitchers delivery, a "good" jump but basically too late for an easy steal...

While there is a risk of taking off too early, I noticed that I can often take off a very tiny bit early and the pitcher still delivers to the plate. and this happens more frequently with my BR ratings are higher (I think).

This way I can get my steal success % up above 60% perhaps, but I don't know how I can ever manage to steal > 80% of the times... it's still very challenging for me.

My shortstop in his first year has been called up to AAA after meeting all 4 goals in late July, he had his average up to .270 (after a horrible start). He's slated as a backup in AAA, but he's the only SS on the roster, so he's playing pretty much every day. His first game in AAA, he went 3 for 5 with 2 triples and 5 RBI, but has pretty much stunk since then. And he's been warned by the manager twice about stealing (green light was removed back in May) - first, I was given the sign for a hit & run, the batter missed his pitch and I was out. Second time, I was given the sign for steal, but I didn't go on the first pitch - I wanted to see the pitcher's delivery. I went on the 3rd pitch, actually stole it (my 3rd successful steal in about 25 attempts), and got warned. I'm thinking if I had run on the first pitch, it would have been okay. I'll get benched the next time I screw that up. Funny thing there was that he told me I'm already on the bench, so he can't change that, but he'll make sure I don't get any playing time if I do it again. I have his speed up to 65 or so, and baserunning ability just above 50, but I'm still not getting good jumps. I'm thinking I may just ignore all stealing until I get the green light back (hopefully that will happen after I raise my ratings).

And my SP was named the starter for the AA all-star game in his first year, and right after that game (which he won with 2 innings pitched, 1 run given up), he was called up to AAA. I've switched from analog pitching to classic, since I was dominating the hitters. Classic is giving me more "true" results for his actual skill levels, although I switch back to analog for the training sessions. I guess I could have raised the skill level instead. He's in the bullpen in AAA, but still in his first training cycle. I figure once he finishes that, he'll go into the rotation, he has better overall than the #4 and #5 guys.

Man, hitting is so damn difficult w/ my player. I thought it was me until I played my Reds franchise and hit pretty decent. I'm in AA and batting a pedestrian .136. I'm waiting for a pop up to tell me game over.

I have a question about fielding. I'll pick up a ball in the infield and already have the corresponding button pressed to what base I want to throw to, yet, my guy freezes for a split second. Any reason why?

Oh, and can I say, I really HATE HATE HATE the baserunning! Half of the time, the view switches as I'm advancing, and suddenly, my runner starts retreating, even though I never moved the stick position. And in RTTS, you can't use the other baserunning controls, you're stuck with the left stick.

I can't tell you how many times I've been called out running the bases because of stupid back & forth moves. That doesn't even mention the times I've held up trying to find the ball and either got forced out because I started late, or only advanced one base on an extra base hit. Or my runner dives back to first on a line drive over the 1b's head.
