It's not. If you hit x it cancels the throw right after the stutter for me lol.

okay tried just got done trying another install of the patch (already tried it without and it still does the stutter/catcher thing) and another game install. No stutter at the startup logo but then the game froze and I had to do a hard reset of m PS3! Then after I was able to start the game normally. I then had not only the catcher stutter problem but every time I made contact with the ball there was a slight pause before the ball left the bat... what the heck!

Ok, so like many of you i had the sound cut in and out during the intro, as well as the studder when the catcher threw the ball back.

I un-installed the patch and the intro cutting in and out is gone, however the catcher is still studdering only in RTTS mode.

I looked back a few pages in the thread and noticed that someone was having the problem at Dodger stadium, so i went ahead and started up a game. Had no problems at all. I even re-call post patch having a game in coors field with no hiccups as well.

Im still confused?!

Had to exchange my ps3 while I still could to deal with the stutering. It worked. No stuttering at all anymore.

What system did you buy? Serial number? Which HDD version is it? It's a slim right?

I am experiencing some stuttering, mostly when the catcher throws the ball back to the pitcher. But I dont think I will be running out to purchase a new playstation because of it. I think I will just wait a couple weeks and see what comes of a patch

I finally got online and downloaded the patch, and I now get the intro shutter, but still NO problems in game whatsoever... its still smooth.

*shrug*

Also just as an observation, I think the game is tuned better with the patch, so I'm definitely sticking with it.

Agreed with this. I had no stutter before in game or intro. Patched, stutter on intro, but still not stutter in game.

They will get to the bottom of it I am sure, especially since Ramone was able to experience it. So that is a good first step.

Without the patch or update my game runs without a stutter.

With the patch my game audio stutter's in the San Diego Studios intro and when the catcher throws the ball back

And it ain't a game data problem...It's the patch or update(Whatever it was).

well hopefully they get the catcher stutter as well as everyone else's problems fixed. Mine does the stutter with or without the patch so it's not the patch.

I have experiecned this as well, except to me it appears to be the animation where the catcher begin to rear back to throw the ball and stops himself because the batter gets in the the way. If you know what I mean. An intentional hesitation.

It's just that this seems to keep happening all the time, even in warmups.

i actually thought the hesitation was to allow the fielder warmup balls in the infield go past.

I have also experienced this but only when there is a lot of activity such as when there are two or three men on base. When bases are loaded, I get a good amount of stutter when the catcher tosses the ball back to the pitcher.
