Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
I also made a trade involving Singleton- 29 year old CF Chris Helsey B overall/B potential for 22 (or 21-cant remember) YO LF Jonathan Singleton. Singleton's a C overall/A potential.
The good-He seems to have all his options, and plenty of time to develop.
The bad-He's already got 2 years of service time.
Helsey's got a good contract-2 years at 500K with a club option, and Singleton's on a 1 year deal. Helsey was having an Ok year. Also, Helsey was regressing this year. Good trade for my team?Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
is this a good idea?
i get verlander ackle and travis snider
i send crawford trout and brad emaus
i could either put snider in left or gardner .. plus i have harper playing AAAackley is better than emaus and verlander would be a huge upgrade at SP..
EDIT: instead i could do gio instead of trout which would be better i think but gio is A potential
EDIT2: i could do felix and desmond jennings for crawford and gallardo.. tough choices..
Anybody have an opinion about this?Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
1. Singleton is 19 YO and can already hit .280 w/20 HRs in MLB
2.Crawford and Trout are the best outfielder and the best outfield prospect in the game. Emaus is a backup 2B Ackley is a low A pot 2B who will become a solid starter or better and Verlander is one of the best pitchers. 2 top outfielders for 1 top pitcher and medium prospect is a net loss unless your pitching is really really bad. (If you want to do this don't trade Trout use Gio instead.)
3. Felix Hernandez is the best pitcher and Jennings will be a good hitter-not as good as Crawford but the Gallardo upgrade to Hernandez is amazing.
4. Do your second trade and see if you can get a better prospect than ackley and trade Gio instead of Trout or Crawford
5. I am starting a Red Sox franchise and I have limited myself to one human started trade per year and any CPU offered trades. If I am trading Youkilis or Drew any suggestions for RF prospects (Not Harper) and preferably someone capable at third
EDIT: Red Sox get: Curtis Granderson, Jesus Montero C "A" POT, Brett Marshall 20 YO sp w/C pot
Yankees get:J.D. Drew, Mike Cameron, Michael McKenryLast edited by Ike Slider2; 05-22-2011, 03:06 PM.Comment

Lincy
Gallardo
Gio
CJ
Zito
and i have Taillon and Davies in the minors and some other prospects that arent as good.
My OF is pretty much stacked... Crawford Pierre and Gardner, Trout and Starling Marte(prospect, i think A pot, from Pittsburgh), Heyward and Harper
I have budgets on.. which kind of pisses me off because i didnt know it mess the game up so bad.. But if I did this I could move Gardner into the starting lineup while Harper and Trout stay at AAA and keep raking (trout is hitting .350 and Harper has 5 HR)
My pitching in 3 years is hopefully this: Lincy, Gallardo, Gio, Taillon, and someone I trade for.. looks like it is going to be pretty beast with all them being A pot. Also, Kershaw's contract is up and i might go aggresively after him in the off-season... just really want Zito out of the rotation but dont want to bring Taillon upComment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
I just traded 29 year old CF Drew Stubbs to the Yankees for 21 year old CF Oscar Singleton. Stubbs was a B but he has really slowed his development and I don't think he'll make a A overall.I removed Singleton from the 40 man and sent him to AA. I brought up LF Nick Weglarz to take his place on the MLB roster.Comment

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
If you want to bolster your rotation just trade for Hernandez, it'll help a lot and you then free up Pierre and Gardner because Jennings is a good speed player so you can trade them. You can move harper behind the plate and use Trout in Center, Heyward in Right, Jennings in Left, and Marte as utility OF/ DH
red sox acquire: crawford, gallardo, zito (horrible contract)
dodgers acquire: felix, arrieta, cedeno

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
I'm sitting at 70-36 at the deadline with my Braves and 12 games out in front of the Phillies. Made a move about a week ago to acquire Paul Maholm from Pittsburgh, giving up JJ Hoover (B Pot prospect. Couldn't pass acquiring a solid innings-eating lefty for a guy not in my top 10 or 15 prospects). Maholm threw a CG 5 hit shutout in his first start for us.
Chipper has remained healthy all year and has put up his best season in years (.353, 27 HR, 67 RBI thru July 30), and with us looking like a favorite to represent the NL in the World Series, I'm hesitant to deal him as he's been our best run producer. That says, reality and business also face me. He's 39, aging, and likely to retire within the next 2 years. The Indians offered me a deal of 3B Lonnie Chisenhall (A Pot), SP Drew Pomeranz (A Pot) and SP Alex White (A Pot). I'm still mulling it over, but that may be too much to pass up in getting 3 of the Indians' best prospects, including a replacement for Chipper at third.

Re: **All Trades Discussion Thread** 2011 Edition
Well that makes it somewhat fair, at least they may get some value for Chipper in their run at the Division title and WS... I guess its now up to what you prefer, a solid vet who will retire soon, or three really good prospects, one of which will replace Chipper...RED SOX NATION!!!!Comment
