Nope...they were just struggling. Aside from Jenks, Bard and Pap, everyone was poor. As I said, it was spur of the moment & I shouldn't of made the deal, but gotta live w it. My rotation has been very good on the bright side. What positional changes did you make? I also have a lot of guys contracts coming up at the end of the season...lots of decisions to make w that.

        Mitch Talbot

Reaction to the 2nd trade: WOW, the Royals prospect pool gets deeper. I changed Lawrie's position back to 2nd base due to the prescence of Moustakas, but the Royals in my franchise now have an elite prospect at almost every position!
Lawrie is nice! I kept him in my Blue Jays Franchise. I think it would be cool if player's potential and ratings decreased once they go to Kansas City. Man, that place is a graveyard for young talent. A-Rod probably woudn't have made it out of Low A ball if he was being groomed in that system.

Indians and Brewers strike a blockbuster deal In early June...

          Indians trade
          1B - Matt Laporta - A pot
          SP - Carlos Corasco - A pot
          2B - Louis Valbuena - B pot

          Brewers trade
          1B - Prince Fielder - A pot

Many believe that Prince will not be resigning with the Brewers, and will be entering Free Agency after the Season. Seeing as Cleveland is pretty similar the Milwaukee, Fielder will probably still want to test his market value after this season...

In an attepmt to win their first World Series since 1948, The Tribe, gives up some All Star prospects and get a stud for Right Now.

          What do you guys think???

I like that trade, however I don't think the Brewers should've done it...but gives the Indians some serious proven talent at the big league level.

Yeah I agree, I definetely got the better of the deal right now, but, the Brewers got 3 players, one of which who was originaly from their Organization (LaPorta) who should develope into solid ball players.

But yeah, I will agree, I get the better of the deal at the moment because those guys are not on the same level as Prince Fielder.

Now I just hope I can resign Prince in the offseason :/

In my franchise, LaPorta is now with the Red Sox and leading them in power numbers as well as all AL first basemen. While Fielder has been a two time MVP and leads all NL first basemen in home runs perennially. All in all, a pretty fair trade as it hurts and helps both teams. Did you have to think long and hard before pulling the trigger? That is when you know it is a good and fair trade.

Im running a franchise with the tribe too and this seems like a good trade to me. Fielder for Laporta puts more pop in the lineup for sure. Kinda hurts losing Carrasco but you got some good starting pitching prospects that can fill in with (Alex White) and you didnt lose anything with Valbuena. I dont think he would ever have a chance at 2nd with Kipnis and Donald in the wings. Im only into the last week of May so far in my franchise and 2 games out of 1st in the central. If I'm still contending close to the trade deadline, I might look to make a trade like this as well.

Yeah for sure, I really had to think about it. I like LaPorta, as he was the main piece for us (tribe) in the CC Sabathia trade a few years ago. And Carasco, was a big piece in the Cliff Lee trade the following season. So, I know that both of these players will be Good, maybe great.

The one thing my lineup was lacking was a dominate power hitter. Travis Hafner isn't what he used to be. Sizemore, Choo and Santana have decent power, probably 20-25 Hr for each, but, with Prince, I get a guy that is a legit threat to go deep at any moment, which was the only thing my lineup was missing. Only issue is, I wish he was right handed, as, I don't have many righties in the Lineup.

I like to keep things as realistic as possible, but sometimes I actually like to make some moves that I KNOW the real life Indians will NEVER make haha. Usually we are the kind of team that trades away All Stars for young players and builds for 2 or 3 years down the road. Even when they are "right there" in real life, (ie- 2007) the Indians never really make "that move" to put them over the top and "go for it" THIS YEAR... So, thats where I come in haha, I wanna take a shot at the World Series dammit, I don't care as much about 3 Seasons down the road... Who knows if I'll even play through 2 full Seasons... Me, my brother in law, and our buddy all play, we take turns batting, pitching and what not. There is no way I would have enough time to play an entire 162gm season haha.

Last year, in MLB 10, we acquired Lance Berkman and Ben Sheets (FA) near the Trade deadline. We won the AL Central but lost to the Rays in the 1st round

                    ----------------------

                    UPDATE... Tribe Signs Sheets!!!

Indians make another addition to the Ball Club in pursuit of their 1st World Series Championship since 1948... Indians have signed veteran SP Ben Sheets, who will replace Carlos Corasco in the rotation...

UPDATE #2... The debut of Prince...

Sheets pitches complete game in his 1st start with the Tribe. Only giving up 2 runs, but is the though luck loser as the Tribe is blanked by Boston's John Lackey...

First game with Prince Fielder in the starting lineup... 2 Hr and the Game Winning RBI single in the Bottom of the 9th - Hows that for debut on a new ball club

LaPorta, has gone deep for the Brewers in his first 2 games and Carasco will be their #4 Starter.

I did a draft and am somewhat deep in every position my lineup is this:

                        Soto, Wieters
                        Miggy
                        Kendrick
                        Moustakas
                        Crawford
                        Trout, Pierre, Gardner
                        Heyward, Harper, Ethier(looking to trade)

                        Lincy
                        Gio
                        Zito
                        Chacin
                        CJ Wilson
and i got taillon to come up from AAA next year

My RP is ok... looking to upgrade and get JJ greinke or kershaw but there pretty much untouchable in this game... EXCEPT

I could trade to get kershaw and trade trout and harper.. I think its ok.. i really want kershaw and this is basically the ONLY way to do it..

and if anyone knows how to trade zito please let me know.. NOBODY IN MY LEAGUE WANTS HIM .. Im thinking on even releasing him...

Drafted lincy and i think i drafted heyward..

but i got Miggy and Crawford by this

got Miggy Lawrie gave C Santana fielder Laroche

got Crawford gave Stanton and Tabata

it seems like contracts play a big role in trading.. sometimes ill be looking at offers and if i get __(player with huge salary, but is still a beat) the interest will still go up

EDIT: Drafted Heyward 2nd round, Lincy 1st

I traded Bronson Arroyo to the Rays last season for SP Wade Davis. Just recently they tried to trade him back for SP Daryl Thompson and my recently drafted A potential 1B. I politely declined the offer; they can keep his contract-thanks. Arroyo's also struggling with like a 1-10 record.

I'm also seeing a lot of trades to acquire relief pitchers. Teams are paying crazy prices to get a good reliever via trade.

                                Rangers receive
                                1B Carlos Pena: .232 AVG [29/125] - 11 HR - 25 RBI - 19 R - .520 SLG % - .263 OBP (B-Pot)

                                * = Player in AAA

I made this trade in my Cubs franchise on May 15th. We are 24-16 right now due to my league leading pitching. My offense is struggling terribly, so I'm shaking things up a bit. I'm moving Tyler Colvin to 1B and giving Julio Borbon the start in RF. Colvin has been my best and most consistent hitter all season, and getting rid of Pena's all or nothing approach will benefit me very well. Borbon will lead off for me and take pressure off of Castro, who is slumping at the top of the order. I also get a young 1B in Chris Davis that I can groom for the future. There is no rush with him because Colvin is 25 and can hold it down for as long as possible.

The Rangers called Perez up to the majors, and he will control CF for the last place team.
