When I first read the title of this thread I got all excited and thought I was going to get to come on here, read about the fixes made, and then admit to being wrong about my guess that this isn't going to be fixed anytime soon.
I'm not a video game developer so I'm certainly not speaking from experience, but I have a feeling that there are some deep rooted issues that the devs are facing with all these franchise problems. So many aspects of the code are interconnected with one another, so making a change that might fix one problem may create a problem elsewhere. It's not as simple as saying "slow down young player progression" and then all is fine and dandy.
The devs know how serious this issue is which is why it has been over a year and has not been fixed. It's likely going to take a major overhaul to franchise to fix these problems. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's very possible this issue will not be fixed this year. Why are the devs telling us otherwise? I guess speculation on that is "unnecessary" and not meant for the forums.
People are going to either have to:
1. Accept the problems and play through them.
2. Research the workarounds in an attempt to create realism to an unrealistic situation.
Either way, the game is the best baseball sim on the market. If you can look past the problems you'll have a helluva time playing it. If these problems bother you too much to enjoy the game (like they do me) then make a statement. Don't buy the game new. Buy the game used or rent it and let them know that you're not nearly as interested in buying a sim game that isn't fully doing that job.

Last year they had already released the final patch before we dicovered how big a problem it turned out to be. This is a very complicated issue as a lot of things are tied to other things that disrupts those things and if you do that thing it will screw up this thing and that thing being A.I. doesn't have the since of reason as us things, but I'm confident that SCEA will address this issue in the coming days and if not fixed will let us know that it will not be fixed this year....Comment

Neither of us has slept more than 4 hours a day since Thursday when we started down this road. We still have a few kinks to work out but I'm really pumped about the improvements thus far.

Sorry Kolbe, but we dont' like it. We weren't expecting any nutball ideas. We were just hoping that all-star caliber players would remain on teams after the 2013 season.Comment

Except it's not all-star caliber players like last year at least from my tests. It appears the problem is definitely better than it was last year. Check the 2013 glitch explained thread. I've done several sims just to see this for myself and the best player that sat in FA was Johnathan Sanchez. EVERYONE I RECOMMEND DOING YOUR OWN SIMS. SEE THE GLITCH FOR YOURSELF AND DECIDE. From the outrage here it sounded like my entire team would be full of SCEA players by 2013. And that wasn't the case at all. In fact, somehow they kept the big four pitchers on the phils together till 2015 in three seperate sims with everything to auto (INCLUDING TRAINING). I had not a single SCEA player on my MLB squad until around 2017 or so which makes complete sense (ok a MRP here and there but meh). Same with the rest of the teams. in 2016 the league leaders were ALL CURRENT MLB PLAYERS. Felix was the top pitcher and Prince Fielder was the top batter. In 2015 my MLB squad was mid/early 30s MLB guys and some late 20s (Dominic brown for example was I think 28), AAA was mostly mid 20s-early 30s, AA was all mid 20 year olds and A was 18-24ish. Seems just fine to me and REALISTIC. I honestly think people are blowing these issues way out of proportion especially for your average show fan. PLEASE PLEASE RUN YOUR OWN TESTS PEOPLE AND DECIDE IF IT'S REALLY AN ISSUE FOR YOU.What would Doc do?Comment

It sort of is but it still needs to be fixed with a patch. Does anyone know how many A/B potential players are "injected" into the game every season? Like how many A potential players are there in the draft? I'm thinking that maybe that roster change last year helped delay it but the subsequent draft groups had too many A potential players? Thus the same thing was happening just a year or two later...Comment

While I haven't been here long I have been in the gaming community for over 10 years and man, this is the first time I've seen devs really having meaningful interactions with the community. Most read forums but usually never actually interact with the community. The biggest thing is that they don't just interact on THEIR forums but also the "hardcore" forums that aren't even related to Sony.What would Doc do?Comment

Since I don't have anything good to say at this point because of how terrible these issues are, I'll just refrain from posting and continue to hope (likely to no avail) that a patch will come.Comment
