    Yea, I don't mean an arcade-y result at all. Sometimes the balance between the animation and the stick response isn't always fluid. JD knows what I'm talking about...

    Meaning--if you press the stick all the way in a direction to go just a few steps, the animation might overreact and then you have the jerky/spasmic reaction. If the stick control could be more precise with a BOOST button to control sprinting and even reaching and lunging, it might add something to gameplay. Maybe. Just a thought.

    Then you could even hold the stick to get to a flyball without the extra steps to reflect momentum. Just 'cause you run all the way to a catch doesn't always mean you are sprinting. I know the stick is PS, but personally I think it's easier to gauge the effect of a button-press than trying to find the sweet spot of the stick. Again, just a thought.

      THAT could be the cause of extra after-steps, but just holding a run in a direction doesn't necessarily have to be a "sprint" that causes so much momentum.

        These both happened in a World Series game for me in RttS. I'm the pitcher.

        I don't even know what is going on here. RttS. World Series. I give up a routine fly ball. CPU centerfielder glitches back and forth and it ends up a double. Wonderful.

        Again. Give up a long fly ball. Problem is, it stays up for a while, making it an easy catch. Problem is, my rightfielder stands six feet in front of where the ball lands. Notice he has enough time to get under the ball, this isn't a all out running catch. He also has plenty of room to go back. He just stops in the completely wrong place, jumps and the ball goes over his head.

          Again. Give up a long fly ball. Problem is, it stays up for a while, making it an easy catch. Problem is, my rightfielder stands six feet in front of where the ball lands. Notice he has enough time to get under the ball, this isn't a all out running catch. He also has plenty of room to go back. He just stops in the completely wrong place, jumps and the ball goes over his head.

              That second video looks like a 'realistic error' to me. I know it's frustrating...but misjudges like that actually happen.

              Although, it's hard to say if that was 'supposed' to happen, or if it was some kinda glitch.

                  Not to make light of the situation, especially twice in the same game, but they do seem like realistic misplays. The first one almost looks like he lost it in the lights, and just misjudged it. Who was the center fielder, btw?

                  Edit: Also, how does the CF have #31 for the Cubs?

                      I should have taken a video of this yesterday but completely forgot, but I tried to turn the 3-6 tag DP (may have been a little too far from the bag) but the animation went into a spin throw instead of the step on the bag and throw to 2nd like you would see in real life.

                        Last nite in my chise Jason Heyward misjudged a ball that allowed me to score two runs. Pretty cool this hapens if ya ask me.

                          Not a fan of outfielders who "overrun" the ball and they go into that half-stride thing and reach of the ball behind them and they miss it. Happens to the CPU and me and it always feels cheap!

                            This and the diving and running-and-tumbling misplays happen constantly in all my RttS games. They really need to cut down on those by a lot. It's ridiculous.

                              Am I doing something wrong, or maybe pressing the buttons too hard?

                              It seems like my outfielder's field balls with NO URGENCY whatsoever. I give up a basehit up the middle and the CPU has a runner leaving 2nd and rounding 3rd and my CF actually SLOWS DOWN while going toward the ball? I'm pushing the left stick as far as I can push it and he's just like lolly gagging to go pick up the ball?

                              And I lose out on a lot of DP's because it seems like my IF's will ALWAYS double or TRIPLE CLUTCH and take about 3 side steps before they will throw ANY ball?

                              Meanwhile, the CPU has their IF's doing that ridiculous feet first slide WHILE SIMULTANIOSLY throwing the ball to rob me of every would-be hit, lol

                                Any ball that is near the wall if you have to move your player towards the wall. They will get magically sucked into the wall and brace themselves even if there is no reason for them to take the 5 extra steps to go into the wall.

                                A couple other things I have now noticed is I have had players just jogging back for a ball with there glove out and the ball just drops right over there head lol. I figure perhaps this is tied into there fielding ability but it seems like such an easy catch.

                                Also I have now seen a couple times of line drives hit super hard at my outfielders and the ball has just bounced right off of the players chest area and deflects towards the infield.
