Re: Community Day - GAMEPLAY question and answer

There is a new information tool you can use while at the plate. It is basically a quick look that has the pitcher and batter information. You hit left on the D-pad and a screen drops down from the overhead score line. One side has the pitcher and the other is the batter. The information is in bar form (no numbers). It gives a quick summary on the player like for example showing BB/9 on the pitcher, how the batter rates against the lefty pitcher, etc. Nice little tool to use!

A simple circle that starts large and shrinks as the ball gets closer (with size/accuracy of the landing spot determined by player ratings) would be awesome. But right now I'd be happy with a plain circle that's less distracting than the spinning baseball. Would also "update" the game's appearance and change things up, since it's been the same for the past 5-6 years.
The baseball is still in but it is a new graphic. Looked more updated in style.

They were looking into this when we were there. In playing a few days straight the second baseman's throws mostly ended up being low for some reason. Hopefully it gets a tweak!

I would, however, like to request that my ideas that I have be looked at again and taken into consideration (I would have to send you the posts if you don't know where they are).

You cannot control if the ball can be cut off on a throw home. But we did notice occasionally on throws home that died out dramatically the CPU had the infielder cut the ball off. So there appears to be some type of logic in the game.

UPDATED POST (1/17): Another question I have about gameplay has to do with player's momentum. Specifically outfielder's momentum on dive attempts. I've always felt (and this could possibly be just me) that when an outfielder is running full speed and attempts to make a diving catch that their dive doesn't quite carry as much momentum as it should. It's almost as if they jump up to dive and all their speed and weight goes out the window. Basically, I'm asking, has this been improved upon in '12? If you need further clarification on this question, feel free to ask. I can provide video if you'd like.

The dives felt the same to me as 11. Also, I did not have too many diving situations but I tend to play it safe in the outfield, lol.

No foul tip outs this year! I know it is something they want to get in.

                    Did this get included?
You cannot do what you suggested above. It works the same as last year but with smoother animations and refinements to the the analog meter it should be a much smoother experience. Also with regards to the analog throwing meter the different color strength rings under the player are gone and now they are just red.

So my eyes weren't playing tricks on me watching the gameplay footage.
Why is that? So now you have 3
rings of red where one means soft and three a hard throw?

Are these based on the current season/franchise stats or 2011 stats? I assume 2011 stats for exhibition games.

It was hard to distinguish the colors, also I think it is four total including the bulls-eye red dot that starts the meter. That dot would be your softest throw.

I would assume 2011 stats but maybe Ramone can chime in to confirm.

the bolded part, is that pitcher specific or his general vs lefty rating?
