Re: Community Day....FRANCHISE and EDITOR
Thanks for all the good work you did and you'll do.
And thanks for the answers.
Just helping a little bit liftheavy :
These are posts from Kolbe last year :

and the post :
It has been extremely difficult - so a big "you better damn like it" damnit from Jeff and I to you!
Neither of us has slept more than 4 hours a day since Thursday when we started down this road. We still have a few kinks to work out but I'm really pumped about the improvements thus far.
Details... no, but I believe I'll allow RamOne to give you his impressions (He's playing with our changes today).
{edit} Let me make one fact clear... We did not do even 10% of what I want to do with Franchise... This is the best we can do with the time we have remaining. So dont go expecting Expansion mode or any other nutball idea{/edit}

Re: Community Day....FRANCHISE and EDITOR
Both posts are unrelated. That first post of course goes to show you that Kolbe had an idea of what he wanted for franchise and we'll probably never know and while it suggests that he had big plans for franchise, he did not promise that it'd be overhauled for 2012.
With that second post, there was no promise for next year that franchise would be overhauled as well. You had not included the quote that Kolbe was responding to in the second post, which was actually about hiring/firing managers during the season, thus taking it out of its original context.

Honestly that's a change that would not go over well at this point. I know it sucks, I hate it too - but I PROMISE that next year, this will not suck

On a side note, I wonder if post per page affects this post links. Your links did not correspond to those posts and I'm probably assuming that mine won't correspond with the others who have something other than 40 posts per page.
You're right about the posts. And I'm not a superstar for quoting :/
I just wanted to show that the devs want to improve franchise mode.
When Kolbe said "not even 10%", you/I/we could expect a major overhaul to our dedicated mode.
And when Kolbe promised the "firing coaches during the season" feature would have been in the 2012 version (which won't be), you could expect that this feature and many others will be.
But it is not. We'll live with that. And we will hope for next version.Comment

I just wanted to clarify something there since people have been posting "we were promised next year with franchise" and that was the only part there. In any case, it's a matter of preferences again and I don't think anyone is wrong for having expected more out of franchise given what was said sometime last year. It sure would have been neat if they had gotten to some of those things mentioned last year, but for now we only know of some improvements, but not all yet.
There's always going to be things that need to worked on. When MLB 10' came out, you could say that was major franchise overhaul there when they added new elements to franchise, changed certain things, and expanded rosters from 75 to 90 to curtail the injury/roster-freezing problem in the previous game, but I personally think it led to possibly the free agent problem and the current issue people have with the trade logic since 450 new prospects meant more A's and B's potential prospects than previous years, thus leading to more trades and an overflooded amount of MLB-ready players (C overall and above) than years past.Last edited by BatsareBugs; 01-27-2012, 06:30 AM.Comment

Re: Community Day....FRANCHISE and EDITOR
No I'm being serious there are literary 5 to 15 people who play the mode. There are hidden trophy's in the game and one of them is playing one game of MOM or loading into MOM one time. This hidden trophy was only unlocked about 15 times last year which means out of the hundreds of thousands of people who played MLB 11 The Show while logged into PSN. Only 15 of them total ever played one game of MOM.
I would love to see your competitor incorporate release a deep franchise and manage mode with good graphics and watch how fast SCEA goes running to fix the game.
I repeat, you have no idea how many people are playing the game in manage mode.≡Comment

Re: Community Day....FRANCHISE and EDITOR
To be honest....MoM only needs a few things.
I would love it to be re-written as a true gameplay mode and heck...maybe they will assign someone(or group) the task....that would be ideal.
But even if they left it basically as is...a CPU vs. CPU game in which we can interact for the most part, they would really only need to add a few things.
1. The ability to play head to head online. Two person Manage only Mode. If they could do it on one PS3...great...otherwise just online against another human opponent would be great.
2. Make it an option of play in online leagues.....vs any other mode of play. Why not?...I'm sure as long as the opponent knows up front.....and will play....can't hurt!...
3. Get rid of the 6 second countdown. Not necessary any longer. We 15 know we've got 6 seconds to step in if we want!
4. Give us the ability to choose a pitch type....then a pitch location instead of the counter.
5. Give us a "hold runner" button(this will keep someone from b&m'ing a bit)
6. Let us see the opponent bullpen and expand the lineup cards(make them lineup cards.....greying out used/injured players.
7. Let us have the ability to tell pitchers to butcher boy /swing away
That's about it....

As SCEA has finally admitted, they just don't care.≡Comment
