Ok played over 5 games now so here are my first impressions:

    Positives:

The new ball physics are awesome!
First thing that jumps out and makes it indeed a whole new ball game. Greater hit variety, unexpected turns and bounces and that with the new crack off the bat sound make it pure gold.

The overall smoothness of the game feels great, 11 feels so robotic now when you look back, bizar.

Loving the new default batting cam!
I can realy read the pitches better.

Real broadcast is nicely done and I like that there are less replays and that when they come they don't come right away. Just like...well a real broadcast

All those new animations and signature stances are great.
I also really like the new baserunner animations when taking their lead.

Finally we get to see full homerun trots! Nice.

Added bullpen options (stretch and toss) are a very welcome addition.

The variety in fans look better this year, less duplicates (they don't have to stand up after every play if you ask me).

    Negatives:

A little dissapointed with the new tag system, still see many tags go through players. Maybe I expected it to be much more improved like the glove interacting with the baserunner when a tag is implied.

Onscreen "clutter" really needs a turn off option next year.
The fancy glance going over it that has been added this year is even more distracting!

Still no option to save exhibition games

Still no play-off or game MLB today mode.

Still no full control over slides.

I've noticed that all the caps are allready in sweat mode from the first inning! This must be a bug because this was never the case in previous editions.

Overall another great delivery by SCEA that pushes the envelope again for all the other sport titles out there!

This isn't true. Penny would hit 94 with ease last year.

I feel like a complete moron for doubting this game. I can't believe how awesome it is. Pulse pitching and the new physics have made this game so much fun. When you have a pitcher with bad control, you really notice it. I think back to last year, and you can go to any arm in the bullpen that you wanted in any situation. Now, if you have runners on with a slim lead, you have to have balls of steal if you want to bring in a bad control guy

SCEA has done it again, it is such an amazing game. I thought this was the show 11.1, and I couldn't be more wrong. Every year they come out with a new version and you say to yourself, there is no way I could go back to last year's game.

I just use timing on All-Star. I never even played the game on default power. It's just something I have always done with the Show - drop the power one click for both me and the cpu based on the fact the devs have admitted in the past they slightly juice some of the power settings for the casual crowd. So I've always done it and always liked it. Can't really say it's right or wrong or more realistic but it's just something I've always done. I get nice results this way.

The one thing I do find on All-Star is that mistake pitches get hammered more than I like. I have personally found if you turn down pitcher control to create more walks (something I like to do), you will also have to turn down the solid hits slider so those increased number of mistake pitches don't end up in the cheap seats too often. For me the solid hits slider is something I tweak far more than the power slider. It's a tough balancing act but there's no such thing as a perfect slider set as everybody has a different set of abilities and expectations.

I just got the game today.

I don't think I would know where to begin. The game is good. Let's start with that.

Good is probably an understatement too.

I love the improved broadcasting, and I love the physics so much.

Can't wait to see more of this.

Something very, very strange has happened in my RttS season. My RttS player is a AA player with the Cubs. It is the middle of August in the first year. They currently have exactly 1 3B throughout the entire organization...me. They have either traded away or released all the other 3B in the organization. Having said that, I still can't move up to AAA because "There is not any room". All you need to know about just how broken the RttS system is.

Edit:Perhaps not broken but it definitely needs attention.

Had this since the midnight release. Trying to sneak in playing time here and there. Haven't tried pulse pitching yet. Taking the tour by playing with every team in their home ballpark before starting my Cubs season. Ball physics are good. Most of my homeruns have hit the foul poles. The only thing I hate about this game is having to be torn away to go do something else

I'm forcing it into 1080p which I think is a 540p Resolution of I heard/read correctly on the board somewhere. This force has made the game smoother for me,better looking and ultimately a better playing game

Not that it's right...but there might be other players in the organization with 3B as a secondary and it see fit to use them.
I wish they would rid the game logic as seeing a player with secondaries as a full time option at a particular position. I would rather see the game let us assign a primary 1 and primary 1a.....and then secondaries are only used in case of substitution/fatigue/injury/emergency situations.(in regards to the CPU saying "I have XXX many 3B or 1B" etc....

Game is great, the only I noticed is that hitting has been tough. I'm getting hits, say 7-8 a game, but have only hit 1 homerun through 3 games. But what is frustrating is that I have hit 5-6 shots to the warning track. I think everything will settle out with time though.

The game is awesome. The cutscenes and everything feel like I'm watching a real game. The animations are great, the ball physics are great, the players and stadiums even look better. The new pitching motions have guys actually throwing the ball, and in the past they were too robotic. I love the new swings also.

The game is by far the best sports game I've ever played. Doesn't even compare to the Show 11.

I dont what ratings it's getting, buy anybody who gives less than a 9.5 really isn't a big baseball/simulation fan.

Just had the most frustrating/rewarding 2 ABs. I am fooling around with the Nats in spring training while I wait for the OSFM. Thus far it has been a rough spring. Strasburgh has pitched 6 innings and has an ERA of 9. My team BA is .170. Playing Houston, and despite having earned 4 walks in the first two innings I am being no hit.

So in the 6th inning I hit a hanging curveball, with Jason Werth. It doesn't even get to the warning track in left center despite this:

So, I'm thinking it must not be my day. While cursing the hell of of Werth and the pitcher and maybe the game too. Well, in the 8th Werth gets his revenge. I hit a two run shot which makes a 4-0 snore fest into an exciting game. I still lost the game 4-3, but I went from being no hit to banging out 9 hits in the 8th and 9th inning. Very frustrating, and rewarding game. I also switched my cam back to classic catcher from off-catcher.

And is that where the pitcher intended to pitch resulting in a perfect release and location for them on their second or third pitch

Game is fantastic as usual, no earth shattering changes, but it is very crisp. The only thing I've noticed that is a little strange is it seems like all of my hits are either doubles or home runs. This on both all star and hall of fame hitting (timing). Maybe it work itself out or ill just play around with the sliders a bit.

Interesting. Can you say if you are using timing with the analog stick or timing button pushing? When I switched to analog from button mashing while using timing I was able to hit home runs and doubles more frequently. When only using the button I had warning track power.
