Great tool for feedback, but also gives people this impression that the game is broken when they don't see results.

It's baseball. I scored a run on a weak hit that bounced a few feet in front of home plate. Sometimes the ball just bounces your way. Sometimes it doesn't.
For a forum so against, canned animation, scripted results, comeback code...their comments never seem to reflect that. They are never pleased with real life frustrations reflected in video games.

Impressions, I'm getting better at seeing and recognizing the ball...increasing my hit variety and level of contact. I've seen subpar 1st basemen struggle with poor throws, this is something I want to see more of as this hasn't been reflected well in previous games. I love the fluidity of the game, as i become a better player the game will undoubtedly get better as well.

But I'm discovering that SCEA has removed Auto-Stealing this year. Very disappointing as I enjoyed the AI baserunner making his own decision to swipe a base while I was up at-bat.

I don't like feeling as if I should always steal 2nd with my fastest guy, which is what I end up doing when I have that control.

If anything, there should be an option for Auto-Stealing. It's sorely missed.
I could've sworn that someone posted that they used Auto Baserunning and did have an Auto-Steal occur.

This could've been the Vita version, though, but I do recall someone mentioning it.

Probably about 10-12 full games played and random innings in others. I love that I am seeing hits that I haven't seen before in games past. The new ball physics are such a HUGE addition to the game. I am finally starting to get a grip in hitting. Switched to off-set catcher and I am picking up the ball out of the pitchers had much better.

Been having some really good game recently as I "tour the MLB" with the Orioles. Can't wait to jump into franchise mode.

I need to see the post. Guys don't even take their own leads anymore.

Re: MLB 12 The Show - PS3 Impressions Thread

For my first game I used the 'Experienced' settings out of the box which include pulse pitching and zone hitting on all-star settings for hitting and pitching. The pulse pitching is great! You really need to time the pulse correctly and do a good job of locating your pitches or you will pay. Zone htting is smooth and pitch guessing is a MUST.

I used Miami (have to see the new stadium!) and played Houston. I figured Houston is a nice team to ease myself into this year's features but I was wrong. The 'Stros jumped all over my junk pitches (as they should) while i got used to timing the pulse. CPU pitching mixes locations well and obviously follows scouting reports of your hitters weaknesses.

I would never have imagined that The Show's visuals could be improved upon but I was wrong. The graphics seem as sharp and crispy as ever. Reflections off helmets during day games are simply AMAZING. So far this seems to be the only game i will be needing for a long time to come.

It seems to me that some of the old canned cutscenes did not get the lighting upgrades the rest of the game received.

Playing Spring Training games so seeing a lot of the Pinch Hitter cutscene and maybe it's just my eyes, but the look of the visuals is different. Can't say for sure it's the lighting, but whatever it is, it doesn't look as crisp as the rest of the game.

Noticed the same in a few other cutscenes that do not appear to be part of real-time broadcast.

Gotta disagree with that one. Zone hitting is fantastic but I've never guessed a single pitch and I'm doing fine. Honestly I hate guessing pitches I think it takes away from it. When I see I guessed everything correctly I get too antsy to crush the ball and end up swinging too early. Even just guessing location. Hate it.

This game plays fantastic out of the box. I jumped into All-Star pitching and batting with Zone hitting and Pulse Pitching and I'm getting a perfect mix of games. Played a few exhibitions and then jumped into my test franchise that I use to tweak settings while I wait for good rosters. So far between the two modes I've played 4 full games. Two were close, one was a blowout against me, the other a blowout for me. Right now I'm in the middle of a 0-0 pitchers' duel. Like I said it's great out of the box. Only sliders I've tweaked so far were turning pitch speed down a couple notches as well as Fielder Run Speed down one. Everything else is default.

Pulse Pitching is great. Kicking my butt, but also giving me realistic results and pitch counts. Also able to draw walks in this one when batting, always struggled with that in years past.

for thos of us who prefer the button hitting over analog hitting ... the slap in the face of FORCING that yellow splash stain in the strike zone during online play is downright disrespectful ... WHY would you make it a feature U CANT CHANGE ... that big yellow stain throws your timing off horribly !!!!!! ...that needs to be changed ASAP !!!! this will be the first mlb the show game i throw away if not!!! dont change the greatness this game has!!!

Games against the CPU in Diamond Dynasty really need to not be full 9 inning games. Considering that when I join head-to-head games I'm up against a bunch of major leaguers with my scrub patrol either people are grinding on dropping real money. Either way, no fun.

Trade logic is the only problem I have with the game.

In RTTS August 11th first year.

I'm in AA with the Cubs but the big team just traded Kerry Wood, Geovany Soto and Ryan Dempster to the Blue Jays for Darren Oliver. LOL

This type of thing is what just kills an almost perfect game IMO.
At least in Franchise you can prevent this type of thing happening with 30 team control but in RTTS you can't...unless I'm mistaken ??

Other than I'm loving everything..physics, pulse pitching, lighting, overall atmosphere is tremendous. Great job Devs!
