Maybe it work itself out or ill just play around with the sliders a bit.
I've seen this on All-Star default as well. I dropped the solid hit slider way down (-4) to help out and now it seems good.

I've seen 7 dropped fly balls now. I truly think error chances are the same regardless of the type of play (grounder, fly ball, whatever).

Using the buttons, I suck using analog lol. I did what rudyJuly suggested and it seems to balance it out. Before it just seemed like the ball was juiced

I have to say that t I am loving the hitting changes this year. The way the swings and ball contact feels like it has weight to it, well it just clicked with me right away. This is the first year out of the box that I went with the default sliders on All-Star and have a SS RttS contact hitter who's hovering around .325.

I will have to tweek it for Franchise since stringing multiple hits in the traditional modes has been a bit tough, but then again I never really played those modes all that much. Hoping to change that.

I am so loving the choppers being hit.
Last night a chopper went up the middle over the pitchers head and the Reyes snagged it, did a behind the back toss to Infante....who then got clobbered on a great DP take out slide.

          AMAZING.

Also a high chopper down the 3B line, Hanely handled it and fired to Sanchez.....but the runner beat it by a hair....the ball physics are truly incredible!

It has made this game a brand new experience.

Re: MLB 12 The Show - PS3 Impressions Thread

So I finally got The Show yesterday. I jumped into the beginning demo and lost 4 to 1. I was the Dodgers against the Marlins, All Star hitting/batting, Pulse pitching and timing for batting.

So my second game, It's me as the Braves at home against the Marlins and Josh Johnson. They go up early 1 to 0. But in the bottom of the second with one on, I blast a no doubter into the right field stands with Jason Heyward as he flips his bat. Then as he's rounding the bases, It pans over into the Marlins' dugout and there's Ozzie standing with a disgusted look on his face just shaking his head. I ended up winning 2 to 1.

I'm really enjoying Pulse Pitching though. I throw more balls and it makes it more interesting to me.

And finally I watched a cpu vs cpu game last night. It was the Pirates(Morton) against the Padres(Stauffer) and the Pirates were up until the bottom of the 8th at 8 to 7. With one out and a runner on 2nd, San Diego brings up Chris Denorfia to pinch hit and he blasts a two run shot to left field to put them ahead 1 and Huston closed out the 9th. It was a back and forth scoring game. So far it's been a good couple ball games.

YES!! I wanted to take my franchise with me to class tonight and so far I can't connect. I also had this problem two days ago when trying to play a "spring training" game in my online league. Hoping this is a quick fix issue not one that is in need of a patch.

Had my best game so far and for it only being my 4th, The ending felt so built up to and it was rewarding. I was the Reds at home with Latos against the Astros with Wandy. He kept throwing his curve and I'd get hits but I couldn't put a run across. I hit 4 balls to the warning track but nothing would fly over or fall in besides singles and doubles. So it gets to the bottom of the 9th inning and the last out before extra innings is Joey Votto. I go ahead 3-0 and he hangs a slider and I drill it to dead center but the center fielder jumps up before the wall and snags it. It goes until the bottom of the 11th still no score and with 2 outs, I bring in Chris Heisey to pinch hit. The pitcher ends up throwing a slider down the middle and I powerswing it and it promptly goes over left field for the solo game winner.. I also threw out a runner at first from right field.. haha. Matty V made a remark along the lines of " Geez, How slow do you gotta be? "

Don't know exactly how I am feeling right now. I should be pretty ticked (and am a little) but I feel beter than expected because it was such a fun fun fun game.

First off I'm in in 4th place in the East after 1 month but started out "decent" the following month. I've played every game (Another testament to this great game) and have lived and died with each game.

                    So...just now.

We are up 1-0 over the Royals and give up a late inning run to tie the game.
It goes to the 12 where Swisher hits one that misses the left foul poul by INCHES...freaking inches.
He eventually gets out and then with 2 outs Granderson hits a shot that hits the top of the wall and ends up with a double. We don't score.

The next few innings I got out of a couple jams with inning ending double plays....but couldn't get anything going at the plate.

                    Fast forward to the 15th..
Royals get a man on 1st and 2nd with 1 out and a shot to deep left that I thought Gardner would reel in. He puts his glove up while almost to wall but it gos over his head and hits the wall. The runner on 2nd had went back to tag but took off when the ball hit wall.
The ball bounces back over Gardners shoulder and about 15 yards back towards the infield. By the time we got to the ball and got it in the runner scored.
                    Game over 2-1 in 15.

Just finished my first full game (Tigers v. Indians). Have to say, it was probably the first time I've ever thrown a "realistic" number of pitches with a starter (Verlander gone in the 6th at around 90), and absolutely loved it. On the rare occasion when I would get to 90 pitches in another game, my attention span would be out the window.

This game is amazing my intial impression is the realism with the players stances and wind ups with out DL OSFM Ryan Raburn and Ramon Santiago and all the tigers are all correct without an update. This makes the game so realistic for me. Thank you!!

                        Go tigers!

I would love if SCEA would offer some DLC with the special hats that are worn on Independence day, 9/11 and the other days they are worn. Should've mentioned that going into community day.

I love how I can throw 20+ pitches in an inning yet not necessarily give up a run.

My copy of '12 arrived today. I skipped '11 and I can honestly say I'm not disappointed at all with '12 after one game. In fact, it is fantastic.

I decided to pick the Minnesota Twins to start my season with, and the first thing I did was add the veteran Vladimir Guerrero to the roster to be the DH in the American League.

This year's hitting is a lot different to '10 (I'm using buttons for both hitting and pitching), I've found that you have less time to swing, but conversely it is easier to pick up the ball out of the pitcher's hand, and I find myself swinging at less bad pitches as a result.

In the first inning however, the hitting delivered me a nice surprise. Josh Willingham belted a 365 footer to the opposite field at Camden Yards to give the Twins a 3-0 lead. The new broadcast presentation is excellent. The score ticker at the bottom immerses you in the MLB world (Houston were 12-0 up at home to Colorado after just 2 innings!), and the new overlays and commentary are terrific, especially the Show Track at-bat montages.

I don't know how anybody can criticise the commentary. Just because some of the same lines are still in there doesn't mean it is stale or unimproved. This just means there is a bigger variety of lines in the game which can only be a good thing.

The pulse pitching is brilliant. It really gives you control and unpredictability at the same time. I struck out 7 with Carl Pavano and walked 3. One bad AB can derail a good pitching effort. I brought Glen Perkins into the game after Pavano had thrown 100 pitches for 7 scoreless innings, and he walked the first batter and gave up hits to the next two, cutting the score from 5-0 to 5-3.

I brought Matt Capps in for the save and after a sticky moment or two he wrapped up the victory for the Twins. I'm finding it difficult to hit, easier to pitch, and I'm enjoying The Show more than ever after just one game. I didn't mention that the graphics, especially the reflections are unbelievably crisp and smooth.

                            Good job (so far) SCEA!

                              I wish.
THEY(SCEA) wanted to get the September 11th hats in for the 10th anniversary .....they even brought me aside and asked if I thought it was appropriate(hell yeah it would have been!)...but the MLB turned them down COLD.
One of the artists even mocked up the hat(FDNY only it would have been) for me.
Too bad. Would have been a nice tribute.

I said I wouldn't be buying this because Baseball isn't my sport and when it comes to watching it on TV or even going to see it live, it's not. However, I've been wanting a sports game besides NHL to play and the temptation was too much to resist.

So I played an Exhibition game as the Giants v. the Reds. My pitching was decent, gave up 8 hits, 2 walks, and 3 runs. Two of those runs were early while I was still getting a feel for the game. My hitting is miserable though! I only got two hits (both with a pitcher lol and struck out 16 times lol. So yeah, I was over aggressive with the bat, but I'm working on my patience. All though, this being the first Baseball game I've played a full game on since the days of Baseball Simulator and RBI, I really enjoyed the experience.

I must ask though, what's everyone's prefered pitching? I used the meter and didn't really get the pulse pitching.
