0-4 in ST.. lost to the Red Sox 6-4 in 11 innings.. I can hit with my starting 8, once the backups come in, it's all over.

May 14 in my Mariners franchise, just pitched a CG Shutout with 7 Ks with King Felix in New York.

Started off bad, I was 8 g.b. Oakland and Texas, surprisingly, the Angels are doing pretty bad in my franchise! Hit a hot streak, was eventually tied in a 3-way tie with Texas and Oakland for first. Swept a 4 game series in Tampa and took first place, now I have a 3 game lead on Texas.

Figgins is my leadoff hitter, hes batting .320 and leads the league with 11 doubles. Montero is hot and cold, hitting .250, then .350, and so forth. Smoak is my RBI/HR guy, with 20/9 respectively.

So I swept the marlins in a homestand and on the 3rd game I hit a walk off hr with Aubrey huff! As soon as I got it a trophy popped up "quality start". The coolest thing is when huff was headin home he flipped his helmet off an waddled the last few steps. It was awesome

In my Yankees franchise I traded Phil Hughes to Toronto for Brandon Morrow.

The reason for the trade was I don't like Hughes' short meter when he has someone on base. I can never hit the mark.

The players seemed pretty even. Who you think won in this trade ?

A month into my Cubs franchise and I traded Alfonso Soriano and a prospect to the Tigers for RF Boesch and 2B Santiago. Gave me a utility infielder (since I previously traded Jeff Baker) and a new backup OF with upside (since I traded Reed Johnson). I now have a younger team though a little lower rated but with a higher potential IMO.

I played about 1 game a series up to mid june and was already 16.5 games back in the divison, there was no way of catching up to philly or nationals, marlins were actually doing worse than us. I traded david wright to the twins for their #1 prospect and a couple of middle of road prospects. I also traded santana and murphy to the rockies for tyler chatwood and eirc young jr, and a b prospect outfielder. So now we have plenty of money to try to pick up some decent free agents in 2013 and rebuild.

Ended up simming the rest of the season cuz its just not that fun to play when there's no chance of even catching wild card. So now I'm in the offseasons getting ready to pick up a star or 2 to fill some gaps with the money I saved from dumping santana and wright.

Oh and yankees beat the pirates in my 2012 WS. Ha.

                    Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

I restarted my Cubs chise, after I found a roster that had a few more prospects on it(Supposadly all of the prospects for all the teams). I am going to try to keep it a little more realistic now and will play about 1 game each week of the season, as I am one who likes to get deep into franchise mode and rebuild the team and draft some future players and such. I did make a few trades during the first week of Spring Training as I was just looking to begin the rebuilding stage. The plan is for these to be my only trades until near the deadline, when depending on how were doing, I may unload Garza & Dempster since they are in the last years of their contracts and Garza is arbitration eligible. The trades are as follows:

From the Marlins: Pitcher Carlos Zambrano(30 yrs old, B Overall) & 2nd Baseman Tim Judd(21 Years Old, B Potential, F Overall) for Paul Maholm(29 Years Old, B Overall) & a B Potential 20 year old Center Fielder.

                    From The Mets:

Pitcher J. Mesia(20 Years Old, D Overall, B Potential), Ronny Cedeno(29 Years Old, D Overall), and Right Fielder Puelo(21 Years Old , D Overall, B Potential) for David Dejesus(32 Years old, B Overall) and SS J. Lake(22 Years Old, D Overall, A Potential)

Pitcher Familia(23 Years Old, D Overall, B Potential) for Trevor Miller(38 Years Old, B Overall, B Potential)

                    From the Pirates:

                    J. Mcdonald(27 Years Old, B overall, B Potential), 3B. P. Alvaraz(25 Years Old, D Overall, A Potential), and LF Marte(21 Years Old, C Overall, C Potential) for Util. Blake Dewitt(26 Years Old, C Overall, C Potential), LF Chamberlain(21 Years Old, D Overall, A Potential) & CF Sappelt(25 Years Old, C Overall, B Potential)

These are the four trades I made. The Pirates had already put Alvaraz on the trading block and with a D overall, I figured he could develop into a good everyday 3rd baseman if Ian Stewart got moved at the deadline, or if Stewart didn't play well. I also have Josh Vitters waiting in the minors for his chance at the hot corner.

Your Mets and Pirates' trades are unrealistic....For some reason, u seem to be overvaluing David DeJesus....he's an OK player but he's not worth a B prospect imo...what u could do (since u cant wait to get rid of DeJesus is substitute one of those two B Met prospects for a C.....and plz remove Ronny Cedeno...guy has abosolutely no trade value whatsoever.....and why in the world would they trade Familia for a 38 year old reliever?...sometimes people get sucked in by a particular rating and don't look at anything else....No chance the Pirates would give u Alvarez, Marte(their LF or RF of the future) and a talented middle-of-the-rotation guy in McDonald for essentially 2 prospects.....The Marlins wouldn't accept your proposed trade either....Zambrano>Maholm

Well the Dejesus trade included an A Potential Short Stop, and a B Overall 32 Year Old Out Fielder with leadoff potential. so

                        Mesia: D Overall(B Potential)
                        Cedeno: D Overall
and Puelo: D Overall(B Potential) for an A Potential Short Stop & A B overall outfielder? How is that not fair?

                        From the Pirates:

Mcdonald: 27 Yrs Old, B Overall
Alvaraz: 25 Years Old, D Overall, A Potential
Marte: 21 Years Old, C Overall, C Potential

for Chamberlain(21 years old, D Overall, A potential, probably LF of future)
                        Sappelt(25 years old, but C overall & B Potential)
                        Dewitt(26 Years Old, C Overall)

The way I see it Chamberlain is a little better than Alvarez due to having same ratings & Chamberlain is 4 years younger. Marte is 21 but wont get any better with a C Potential, so pretty much Blake Dewitt. and then Mcdonald who is a B overall & B potential and is 27 year old. I think the trade is pretty even.

As for the Mets trade for Miller.

Pitcher Familia(23 Years Old, D Overall, B Potential) for Trevor Miller(38 Years Old, B Overall, B Potential)

I think that this fair due to the fact that Familia is only a D Overall and more than likely wont be a B overall until a few years down the road when he is in his mid to late 20's. The Mets needed bullpen help now, so they wanted someone who was an established veteran, who was already a B overall, which is just as good as Familia was ever going to be?

And as for the Marlins trade:

From the Marlins: Pitcher Carlos Zambrano(30 yrs old, B Overall) & 2nd Baseman Tim Judd(21 Years Old, B Potential, F Overall) for Paul Maholm(29 Years Old, B Overall) & a B Potential 20 year old Center Fielder.

Zambrano and Maholm are both B's and Maholm is actually younger so Maholm is the better pitcher? I think his time with the Pirates might actually overshadow his stats from the past few years as I believe he's actually been a little better than Zambrano other than wins? Correct me If I am wrong on this.

With in mind that Maholm is the better pitcher, I also snagged a 21 year old 2nd baseman who is only a B potential but is an F right now, so won't be ready for a few years, and gave up my 20 year old center fielder who is also a B potential...so the 20 year old who has B potential is obviously better than the 21 year old with B potential?

I honestly thought these trades were pretty even dude. I am not trying to argue with ya or anything, just stating my point of view. You said some people get caught on one rating and don't look at anything else, and I agree with you, however some people also get caught up in just looking at names of the players rather than their rating and potential in the game.

Had a pitching duel going with Latos against Cain in my 'chise, but Miguel Cairo came up with the winning run on a hit down the line against the reliever that came in right after Cain left. Cairo has been really clutch for me, despite only pinch hitting/spot starting. Also, hits down the line like this have been few and far between (superman plays by 3B all the time), so it was all the more satisfying.

                                Opening day.. vs the Marlins.

Cool to see the new stadium hopping.. fish tank behind home is pretty neat. Had "Opening Day" on the field, nice touch.

Josh Johnson was not nice, pitching a 1 hitter. The only hit I had was a double by Holliday, although I only struck out 8 times Carp was great except for one inning when he allowed 3 runs in the 4th. The other run came on an error and Reyes stole third and I was so caught off guard, I threw the ball to 1st base. DOH!

I had to look at the Cardinals real schedule, I didn't know they played Miami for just one game and then off to Milwaukee. We get Zach Greinke next, UGH!

This is also the first game where the crowd really reacts realistically, they were on their feet for the last out and really loud. I also love to go into a replay and just take a look at all the working scoreboards and what not.

I picked up Ross Gload to backup Berkman at first base and will give the CPU a few weeks to pick from FA before I see if I have any more needs. Playing on AS defaults for everything is going to either land me in last place or allow me to learn the game. The only walk I drew was with Carpenter batting, but I wasn't swinging at anything.

The only thing about pitching from the broadcast camera or any camera behind the pitcher is on balls hit to the IF, I get a late start even on "assist" and have never been able to dive for a ball, although I'm hitting the right stick down.

Seems like this game is all I'm going to need for the next few months - in no way am I even remotely bored, in fact I might play another game later tonight.
