      Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

      Tied atop the AL Central
      Tigers 39-33
      Indians 38-32

4.5 back of the Red Sox in the Wild Card

Asdrubal Cabrera is 4th in the AL in hitting at .343, while Carlos Santana is 9th at .313. Sizemore's batting .280 in 24 games since his injuries and has been a doubles machine, definately helping me out at the top of the lineup. Carlos Lee has been great since I traded for him, hitting .272 with 13 bombs. Santana leads the team with 15, followed by Hafner with 14 (hitting .250). Choo is only hitting .217, Kipnis .271, Jason Donald .255, Chisenhall .191, Duncan .286 (41 games), Ezequiel Carrera .329!(34 games), Kotchman .274

      Kevin Slowey is 7-2, 3.33 ERA, Tomlin 5-6 4.40, D Lowe, 5-3 3.71, Masterson 3-3 2.87, Ubaldo 3-7 4.14

      So Far...
MVP : Asdrubal Cabrera - has been lights out...hitting machine and has been great at SS
Cy Young : Kevin Slowey - definately the biggest suprise this year, coming in as the 5th starter. His control is great and he just gets guys out
      Biggest Suprise - Slowey
Biggest Letdown - Ubaldo Jimenez - just like real life, very inconsistent and erratic

Overall, I think my team has a great shot to beat the Tigers out in the Central. Our pitching has been solid except for Jimenez. Chris Perez is 23/24 on save opportunities.

      Around the League...
      AL MVP : Prince Field
      NL MVP : Troy Tulo
AL Cy Young : Philip Humber!
NL Cy Young : Joel Pineiro

As far as the All Star Game goes Vinny Pestano is 7th in voting amoung Relief Pitchers. Chris Perez is third among AL closers. Carlos Santana is 2nd among Catchers behind Joe Mauer (.353 11 HRs). Asdrubal is leading the SS with 436 K votes, followed by Elvis Andrus with 415 K.

My 3B guy has 5 errors in 10 games. Might be time to find another 3B.

Playing with STL and just threw a perfect game with Josh Tomlin! Acquired him from the Indians earlier in the season for a can't miss prospect (kind of bummed about that.)

            That was intense!

8-8 with the swinging A's. I lost Sizemore for 2 months so I signed Tejada for a year (kinda nice seeing him back in an Oakland uni.) Cespedes has been solid along with manny. Here's hoping I can contend all year.

                      Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

Im currently doing a franchise report as the Detroit Tigers. Im trying to keep it fairly realistic so Im playing Brandon Inge at 2B. Thus far its been a work in progress.

He is batting in the #9 hole and his bat is making little to no noise at all. However, he is not a defensive liability..... YET.

Miggy has been playing third and has been atrocious there thus far with many grounders being hit right past him. I want to put him at DH but I want Raburn to be able to get some at bats because thats a bat that I don't want out the lineup.

                      My lineup
                      1. Austin Jackson CF
                      2. Brennan Boesch RF
                      3. Miguel Cabrera 3B
                      4. Prince Fielder 1B
                      5. Delmon Young DH
                      6. Alex Avila C
                      7. Jhonny Peralta SS
                      8. Ryan Raburn LF
                      9. Brandon Inge 2B

Im playing Spring Training as a stall for the OSFM, then I can restart and hop in the season and just "pretend" I played the Spring like that. So far coming with me into the season will be

                      Pitchers
                      Justin Verlander
                      Max Scherzer
                      Doug Fister
                      Rick Porcello
                      Jacob Turner

                      Jose Valverde
                      Joaquin Benoit
                      Octavio Dotel
                      Phil Coke
                      Daniel Schlereth
                      Al Alburquerque
                      Andy Oliver

                      Austin Jackson
                      Brennan Boesch
                      Miggy
                      Prince
                      Delmon Young
                      Alex Avila
                      Jhonny Peralta
                      Ryan Raburn
                      Brandon Inge

                      Ramon Santiago
                      Andy Dirks
                      Omir Santos
the last spot is between (Gerald Laird, Don Kelly, Eric Patterson)

We currently are 0-6 and Im playing on Hall of Fame settings. "Best to lose and get better than win and suck." thats my motto (I just came up wit that lol). Im still trying to get back in the thick of things with being patient with taking walks (I refuse to use the term "taking balls") and waiting on that right pitch as I have been hitting tons of grounders. Im headed into the second week of Spring training now will give another update afterwards.

It's only April 25th in my game but here are the division leaders. Baltimore, Cleveland, Seattle, Mets, Houston, and San Francisco. Seems a little backwards to me.

started a yankees franchise 3rd overall pick, tool tulo then matt moore in round 2, also took barry zito and managed to bring him back from the dead, in my first three years hes gone 17-7 14-5 and 13-6 ill take that from a guy who cant make a post season roster...

my entire team is young ive got trumbo, trout, nova, stanton venters
ive simmed 7 years to see how everything has turned out, stanton consistantly hits 50+ homers, tulo is a 40 homer guy with a 2 time MVP moore and nova have both taken a cy young and in this past year nova went 23-3 2.43 era (obviously his cy young year) and moore went 20-4 with a 2.54 era
bout to start a new one without a fantasy draft with the marlins

Lost 2 out of 3 to TB...Playing the 4th and final game now...last game before the All Star Break. I'm 1 game back of Detroit. Slowey pitched horrible and gave up 5 ER 1 Unearned in 4 innings...Carlos Lee hit a solo shot in the first...TB jumped out to a 7-2 lead and Price was cruising until the bottom of the 6th with guys on 1st and 2nd Lee steps up and hit a 3 run BOMB to center so now im down 7-5...cant wait to play the all star game next, looks like ill have Chris Perez, Asdrubal Cabrera and Carlos Santana. Possibly Joe Smith may sneak into the bullpen also.

Do lineup issues still exist in Franchise mode? Do you have to control all teams to ensure that the computer controlled teams do not start games with unrealistic lineups?
