Long time lurker first time poster. I'm having trouble with draft classes. I simulated multiple years just to see how the draft goes. It seems all the players in the draft are terrible. I mean first picks in the draft being D potential players. I had two full rounds before one B rated player. Is it something I did? I didn't know if it's just me getting this problem.

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
It's not just my picks. Once the draft is over you can look at the ratings for all the people drafted before you exit the screen. All the picks are usually C to D potentials. Three times in 7 drafts there was a B potential player in the first round.Comment

I'm like a heroin addict with starting/restarting franchises. You can't un-ring that bell.lol well u could always use this time to work on your hitting or whatever you're weak at....cause as of now, u prolly dont recognize 3/4's of the guy's in your minors, most of which prolly aint rated high anyway....it'd be a win-win for you if u ask me...just my 2 cents
I'm thinking my best trade bet is probably Johan Santana. I could prob move him to a desperate contender for some prospects. I have to think long-term here.Comment

Since u insist on staying with your franchise, i'd ask for 2 B pitching prospects and a B OF prospect in return for JohanSteelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
To start off the first season with the Jays, I did an overhaul signing up a bunch of the top UFAs at the start of the game. It's an easy way to build up a very solid team to insulate my youth and help compete now. I signed Rich Harden (4/2.8m per), Roy Oswalt (2/9.7m per), E Jack (4/6m per), Hong Kuo (5/1.8m per). So my pitching with the Jays was easily set and I sent Henderson Alvarez to the minors.
My rotation was: Romero, Oz, E Jack, Morrow, and Harden.
I ended up making an obscene amount of trades around the deadline as I was contending for the division title, shipping out a bunch of marginal prospects and some other guys I signed as UFAs for high end young stars like Feliz, Stras, Chapman, Freddie Freeman, Mike Minor, Rubby De La, Brian Lavarnay as well as some very talented vets on expiring (shocker) contracts like Gardner, Motte. So I had a very solid mixture of young stars AND win-now vets. I wanted to go for it all at this point with Joey Bats in his prime.
And go for it all I did, I simmed the whole season and ended up winning the Series very comfortably.
In the offseason, I signed Bourne and Cano with the budget increased. I renewed for cheap most of my young stars unless they signed long term for financially sensible deals.
In 2013 season now which I'm planning to play most games. So far, 5-0 (playing on Vet). Leading jacker is....... JP Arencibia

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
A couple weeks before the All Star break and I'm in Houston for a series. Boy are the Astros HORRIBLE. lol, their lineup is just sooo bad, especially since I acquired Carlos Lee from them. I actually got lucky and beat them in the 9th in Game 1. 0-0 in the 4th of game 2. I cant remember my record but im tied atop the Central or .5 game back. 5.5 games back in the Wild Card, as the Red Sox have been on fire. After this game ill update my chise more with stats and stuff...trying to find my flash drive as I have saved a bunch of videos and pictures, including some from Jackie Robinson Day, Mothers Day and Father Day!Comment

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
I've made a franchise executive decision and I am going to fast forward when my team is pitching. I'll do this until I land the next Tom Seaver of course. This will also allow me to free up conscience to move some of my pitchers for bigger bats.Comment

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
only batting .200
...He's young and I definately dont expect him to be THAT good, but I do expect more out of him than hes giving. He defense has been great though. TBH, I play Jason Donald a lot more at 3B, he's the everyday 3B i guess you would say, hes hitting .255 though...Kipnis has also took a big nosedive and is now sitting at .264...after this game ill update a bunch! down 3-0 in the 6th runners on 2nd and 3rd after Grady's double....(Grady has been really good for me lately)...HUGE upgrade over Brantley who I just sent down to AAA when Duncan got off the DL.Comment
