    Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

I started a franchise with the mariners, after my old one was corrupted. I simmed the first year and we were the worst team in baseball. The next year i signed nunez off the yankees as a utility man and made a trade to improve at 3rd base and stay young.

Paxton (A) and Fransisco Martinez (B) for Will Middlebrook 3B (A) off the red sox

Hes young and can crush the ball.

This year i simmed most of the season again but played about 20 games throughout the year and we made the playoffs. Just finished game 1 and we beat the rays 3-2 with Felix getting the win.

Smoak has made the all-start 2 years in a row...middlebrooks won the ALROY .299 30 homeruns and around 100RBI and Ackley has been amazing

Only disappointment so far is Montero batted around .220 both year but I'm sure hes going to be great soon and he can still crush the ball when he gets a hold of it.

Playing a Houston season, just looked at the league leaders and surprised to see Gallardo has 2 home runs. This is only in 2 games into the season. Also he is injury 1-6 days. I think it's pretty awesome to see him behind Lance Berkman. Berkman is leading the National League with 3 homers. Anyone else seen a pitcher with this much success at the plate in their season/franchise?

Also Brandon Belt has a home run before he got injured. He is now on the 15 day DL. So that leaves Aubrey Huff or Bet Pill to play first for the Giants. So who would you call up to replace Belt? Any suggestions on what lineup would you give the Giants minus Belt?

some horrible news. after my mets 'chise became corrupted after the stupid patch (PLEASE FIX IT!) i want to start a new franchise. im thinking about either the blue jays, orioles, marlins, d-backs, or rays. i want to know which one i should do while i wait for the next patch to HOPEFULLY fix this problem. so tell me which one i should do temporarily. im leaning towards the d-backs, rays, or bluejays. thanks.

              Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

I'm having a few problems in franchise mode that I hope you guys can give me some tips on.

First, can I get some tips on the rookie draft? It seems like everyone i draft is a D or C potential, unless I see one scouted, but the best I've seen in a B potential, how many A's are out there?

Second, how do I make sure players reach their potentials? Are there certain times I should promote/demote them? Is it bad to have them in the pros too early, or the minors too long? It seems like they're bad until I trade them, then they blow up. what am I doing wrong?

              I appreciate any tips.

                  Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

Here's my current stats for my Braves Franchise

Record: Record: 30-21 (1.0 game back of lead on Phillies)

                  Batting

                  Michael Bourn .232, 1 HR, 12 RBI, 15 SB
                  Martin Prado .302, 6 HR, 20 RBI
                  Brian McCann .343, 14 HR, 32 RBI
                  Dan Uggla .271, 10 HR, 29 RBI
                  Chipper Jones .278, 4 HR, 15 RBI
                  Freddie Freeman .262, 9 HR, 29 RBI
                  Jason Heyward .290, 6 HR, 17 RBI
                  Tyler Pastornicky .279, 1 HR, 14 RBI, 7 SB

                  Bench:
                  Jack Wilson .250, 0 HR, 4 RBI
                  Eric Hinske .246, 1 HR, 3 RBI
                  David Ross, .241, 1 HR, 7 RBI
                  Matt Diaz .239, 0HR, 6 RBI
                  Jose Constanza .208, 0 HR, 5 RBI, 3 SB

                  Pitching:

                  Tim Hudson 7-1, 1.69 ERA
                  Tommy Hanson 4-4, 4.06 ERA
                  Mike Minor 4-3, 4.94 ERA
                  Brandon Beachy 3-2, 4.07 ERA
                  Jair Jurrjens 1-5, 5.43 ERA

Livan Hernandez 1.65 ERA 16.1 IP
Christhian Martinez 6.10 ERA 10.1 IP (disabled List since mid April)
Peter Moylan 2.35 ERA 15.1 IP
                  Eric O'Flaherty .93 ERA 19.1 IP
Jonny Venters 0.49 ERA 18.1 IP
Craig Kimbrel 3.72 ERA 19 SV 2 BSV

As you can see my team is doing really well all around except for a few eye sores. Bourn is flat out not hitting the ball, Jurrjens is just not giving my offense quality chances to win ballgames either. My back end of the bullpen has been lights out the entire season and I expect it to do so for the remainder of it.

Brian McCann is currently leading the league in MVP Voting as well as all hitting categories. Kimbrel is leading in Saves as well. Heyward has been raking the ball in the clutch situations late in ballgames as of late and is looking to take over the 5 spot from Chipper Jones if he continues his hot streak.

Because 30 team control but only play with Houston. I just don't want the lineups to get screwed up. When Gallardo went down for a couple of days for the Brewers I knew where he belong in the rotation.

Why do you feel this way?

I used to do that, start a franchise and then changed my mind, and restart. I stoped doing that on Show 12 since i play every game. If you have only played a few games its fine, but hopefully just restart once.

It can make the game old, if you cant pick a team to stick with in franchise. If your bored its better to sim the rest of ur season, and just see what the offseason offers you. My point is stick with a team no matter what, it takes LOTS of time to restart, not worth it.

First time poster here. I started reading the forums last year. I appreciate all the work by OS members on the updated rosters and working with SCEA to get a product we can all enjoy.
Currently in a 3 player Fantasy draft franchise we are playing 162 grueling games. 1st roster update. Veteran settings, timing hitting , meter pitching and ignore budgets on. Injuries off. Trade overide off. No trade delay. Sliders for hitters +1. Took CPU fielder speed and arm -1. Thanks OS forums for enlightening me on this. I respect the realist but wanna see what I can do thru 162 games with my homies. Teams are overloaded but once trading starts it's an arms race.
Diamondbacks and Marlins rosters are locked in. Maybe bullpen moves at most. The Houston Astros are a revolving door. I only have the franchise progress for Arizona but half finished for other two teams.

The Arizona Diamond Backs selected for their thin air stadium and combination of young athletism and power. Restarted many of fantasy drafts so that they could get there man Troy Tulowitzski. This team consists of high power, high risk high reward sluggers (Stubbs , Espinosa)rotating/platooning players everyday, lockdown infield defensively , young electric pitchers that are only asked to throw their six hardest innings not trying to stretch these guys too much just get in get some k's keep score low and be 100% for next start.
Weiters and Ramos 50/50 Stubbs and Gordon lefty righty platoon Morales and Goldshmidt righty lefty platoon.

First game against the Phillies, I started off well getting 2 runs in the first inning off a HR by J.D. Martinez. Cliff Lee settled down after that, though, and struck out 10 people in 6 2/3 innings. My starter, J.A. Happ, left the 6th inning tied 3-3, but unfortunately, Del Rosario gave up a 3-run HR to Ryan Howard, which ended up basically winning the game for them. I lost 8-5.

Scott Moore continues to destroy the ball, hitting his 5th HR of the season. Coming into the game he was the only player on the team that has hit any HRs.

J.D. Martinez, who entered the game hitting .067 on the season, went 3-4 with his first HR of the season and 2 RBIs. Jason Castro also hit his 1st HR of the season in the 9th inning.
