Man, heading into earlier today I thought I was going to get it together in my Tigers franchise. I was 10-7 through the first 17 games, but my pitching and offense was coming along very nicely so I figured I'd be able to go through a nice stretch. Then I played today and hit a rough patch, dropping 4 in a row (including a heartbreaker in my last one @ NYY in the bottom of the 11th after I blew the save in the 9th). Going to have to take a break, come back and avoid the sweep against the Yanks.

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
Pretty frustrated ATM. My PS3 apparently over heated while I was sleeping lastnight and it was off. So now I am off to go buy a new ps3 but just realized my disc wont eject and I never backed up any of my files on a thumb drive or to my cloud. My last cloud save was when I was 6-2. :\ I was about 22 more games into my franchise. Really agitated right now. It was 100 to send it in but it's 200 at gamestop and comes with a free game :]. And if i sent it in apparently they couldnt salvage any of my files for me. -.- fml. Won't make the same mistake this time (3rd PS3 after this one im done.)5Comment

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
I picked him up for my Pirates franchise and he ended up having a great spring so I gave him a bench spot in the majors. Through 6 games I've started him twice as my #4 outfielder and he's batting .500 with 3 RBI's. He's not a big power guy obviously, but I bat him 9th (I always bat the pitcher 8th) and he's done a great job for me. He has great speed too .Comment

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
Just had a rather heroic moment in my 'play 1 sim 5' Yanks chise. To sum things up, setting the mood, we are 18-16 a week into May. After April, our team led the league in AVG (.303) and HR (45). Yet, we were 28th in ERA (4.74). So, after splitting 2 with the M's at Yankee Stadium, and Garcia set to pitch (0-3, team worst 7.33 ERA) something needed to be done. The M's had Felix on the mound and I decided.. why not. I called up Michael Pineda from Class-A (personally ending his 'DL' stint) and placed him against his old team. How did he respond?
9 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 8 K. (classic pitching, authentic and I's AS sliders) in a 4-2 Yankees win.
Just wanted to share that story. I'll have stats after another month so I have more user games played.Brewers | Golden Eagles | Packers | Bucks | Badgers | Fulham FC

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
Sounds like the perfect type of batter I like then! Only reason I would to not start him in the majors this year would be because I'm so full of outfielders, but I could trade markakis for a decent bullpen armI picked him up for my Pirates franchise and he ended up having a great spring so I gave him a bench spot in the majors. Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
Thanks for the info, I don't expect Freeman to hit 30+ homers, but I'm counting on at least 20, and maybe 30+ doubles. Hopefully now that it is May in my franchise he will heat up. I do tend to move him around in the lineup, could that make a difference?
I feel for ya. Are the PS3's that have overheated the older model or the slims? Thanks for mentioning backing up saves, that had completely slipped my mind, I'm to far in to lose my franchise. Hope it works out for ya.Pretty frustrated ATM. My PS3 apparently over heated while I was sleeping lastnight and it was off. Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
Sorry to post so quick again, I forgot to ask you guys thought of this trade. As I said, I am 18 - 11 as the Braves, in a 3 way tie for 1st. My pitching has been good, except for Jair Jurrjens. He is 1-4 with an ERA close to 8. Also, I just don't feel comfortable pitching with him, if that makes sense. I just can't get in a groove when I pitch with him.
Cleveland has multiple injuries, and is willing to trade me Ubaldo Jimenez for Jurrjens, Coby Rasmus(who i had aquired to replace Bourn next year, but I'm going to try and resign Bourn) and either Venters or O'Flaherty.
Jimenez is an A overall, Jurrjens is a B Overall and Potential, Rasmus is a C Overall but an A Potential, Venters is an A and O'Flaherty is a B Overall and Potential.
Jurrjens is a free agent and I don't plan to resign him. I kinda feel like I'm fleecing Cleveland. What do you guys think? I would rather trade O'Flaherty, but it's kinda a toss up as he and Venters perform the same for me.Comment

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
Cory Luebke is straight dominating right now.
10-1 2.07 ERA
Last 7 starts losing pitcher
L - Felix Hernandez
L - Matt Cain
L - Matt Garza
L - Johan Santana
L - Jered Weaver
L - Stephen Strasburg
L - Clayton Kershaw
I've ran into a problem though. My game is off and can't remember the date but I can't check any box scores anymore for my MLB team. I can check the minor leagues fine but when I Sim or play and hit check box score the game freezes.Last edited by franch1se; 04-23-2012, 11:15 PM.Comment

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
Just had a really good game, 3rd game of my franchise
Boston at tigers "me"
i'll skip ahead, bottom 9, i'm down by 1.
Cabrera singles on a groundball to Pedroia, who made a diving stop but dropped it getting up.
With Prince I fell behind 0-2 and battled all the way back to take a walk "bats like that make you love this game"
With Young, I choose to sac bunt, he gets down but real hard right at the pitcher "I thought oh great" but the pitcher over ran it and everybody was safe
Avila, fell down 0-2 got it to 2-2 fouled off some pitches and hammered a ground ball right at the 2nd basemen, he turned the double play and Cabrera scored to tie it up
Vlad up, "signed to be dh" hits a line drive over the shortstops head to win.
what a ninth inning, loving this game.
currently 3-0 however 2-3 we're real tight, might bump it up to HofComment

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
Slims, man. Crappy thing is that my wife just told me we had a warranty for the last one it voided in like a month but I got agitated and pretty much broke the slim to get my disc out. Oh well, I got the two year warranty with this one.
Funny thing is I dont even use my ps3 until the show comes out so I don't know how it over heated.
Started uploading all my games to my cloud after games so I then just download it to my vita and save on thumb drive after every series. Back to 9-3. -.-5Comment

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
It's good. At work right now so I can't give exact, but around 45-20. My offense is average but my pitching has been lights out. Matt Garza has been unbelievable and could lead the AL All-Star team.
Felix Hernandez out-duels Clayton Kershaw for big 6-4 win in Seattle.
The King managed to hold the Dodgers in check for five innings, while the Mariners offense unloaded on the Cy Young Award winning Kershaw. Offense was easy to come by, as Kershaw lacked command. Yet, a 5-0 lead was quickly erased, as the Dodgers stormed back to 5-4. Seattle tacked on another run, and Brandon League shut the door for the win.
Seattle proceeded to sweep the Padres in a rather dull series, or at least it would have been if not for game three.
Henderson Alvarez, off of a decent first start, was rattled early to give San Diego a 3-0 lead. Clayton Richards was on form until the fourth, when Seattle opened up. A Corey Hart double scored Ichiro, and Adam Lind managed to single to score Hart. A series of singles lead to Chone Figgins at bat with two out and runners on third and second. A ball over the plate, and a Figgins single gave Seattle a 4-3 lead. Alvarez allowed a hit to Cameron Maybin, who stole second, and was driven in on a single to tie the game. It was only tied for a matter of time, as Justin Smoak slammed a solo homerun, giving Seattle a 5-4 lead, which was held by Brandon League and the bullpen.EPL - Arsenal
MLB - Seattle Mariners
NBA - Cleveland Cavaliers
NFL - Philadelphia Eagles
MLS - Seattle Sounders

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
Currently 11-15 with the Twins. started off slow but really starting to get hot. Kinda disappointed with Mauer only batting .284 with 3 hr and 8rbis. Morneau on the other end has been an animal. 3rd in the AL with a BA of .364 with 6hr and 15 rbis. As for pitching my rotation has been ok. My best pitcher so far has been Liriano 3-1 1.80 era. Matt Capps has been on fire 7-7 in save opportunities with an ERA of 0.00.
As for my roster, I'm looking forward to making some changes to the infield. Interested in getting me an infielder that can really flash the leather. If I can grab a defensive 3b I'll move Valencia over to SS. I'm also interested getting a decent Starting pitcher (willing to get give up any one in my rotation for a better pitcher). Hopefully I'll get a package (both an infielder and a pitcher) and make run for the play offs
P.S - even tho the Tigers will be tough to deal with.Comment
