      Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

Me and a friend are 7-6 on a Detroit franchise and we switch off each player in the game. We are actually struggling sometimes because we have to depend on each other. Cameras are on close batting and pitching views to mimic real life and obviously we need to up some batting sliders and play on veteran batting HOF pitching to be able to do decently. I don't understand why more Show guys do not customize their views to mimic real life.

Yeah I did a "practice trade" where I brought Mark Reynolds in and I really enjoyed playing with him. Plus once Aramis came back it would give me a needed power right bat off the bench. I called up 3B prospect Green to platoon with Izturis for a few weeks to see how that pans out first but most likely I'll go with Reyonlds. Thanks!

              Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

Bout 20 games into my Nationals franchise, playing every game for the first time ever in the show. Currently 9-11 and trailing the NL-leading Dodgers in the 5th.

Picked up Johnny Damon and he has been one of the biggest surprises hitting leadoff for us, sitting at a solid .346 and a .374 OBP with 7 steals.

Harper started the year in the bigs and is off to a very hot start, hitting .369/.425/.615 with 4 HR and 9 RBI and also playing an awesome RF.

Morse is also hitting well with 6 HR and 11 RBI, however the old guard in DC of Ryan Zimmerman (.241/3/12) and Jayson Werth (.254 and 0 HR) have struggles out of the gate.

Rotation has been so-so and led by Jordan Zimmerman (2-0 with a 2.45 ERA). Strasburg has been knocked around and struggled with control in April (1-2, 5.61).

Marlins lead the NL east at 13-7. The Indians have been the biggest surprise story thus far, rolling to a 15-4 start. Jesus Montero is hitting a cool .497 with 5 HR and 14 RBI out in Seattle in the AL.

Will try to keep you guys updated every 10 games or so but I'm having a blast thus far.

To be honest, I was very disappointed with the presentation. I was hoping for some improvement over 09/10 and 11, but Vasgersian and Karros/Campbell never once talked about the possibility of the Yankees winning the World Series during Game 5 (I was leading the WS 3-1).

Not a single word. Not even when Rivera was on the mound in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs, nothing. Just the usual "If he gets the save, the win would go to Michael Pineda" crap.

After winning the WS, all you get is a couple of the players running to the mound and celebrating for 5 seconds, then it cuts to the player of the game.

You don't even get to see the Commissioner's Trophy or who won the World Series MVP.

Don't get me wrong, I still love the game and nearly all aspects of it, but the presentation after winning the World Series is something they really need to work on...
I have been saying this for years... It's one of the very few gripes I have with the game. Maybe next year lol

Was able to acquire SS Billy Hamilton and RF Dominic Brown in two seperated trades. Put both of them in AAA for the rest of the season, might put one or both of them on the big league club next season.

                        Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

Finally started up my Orioles franchise today. So I played the opening game against the Twins. Took a 5-3 lead into the 9th and of course Jim Johnson blows the save like in real life.

Game ended up going 18 innings until the Twins got hot and scored 3 runs in the top of 18th. Ending using all of my relievers for the game.

What a way to start a season!

                            Early Cubs Update:

After starting the season dropping 2 of 3 to the visiting Nats, the Cubbies broke out the brooms and swept the visiting Brew Crew 4-0 (7-5, 6-2, 3-1, 2-1), to improve their record to 5-2. Believe I trailed in every game of that series early, but got things going in the middle-to-late innings. This puts them in 1st place (it's early... I know. ) in the NL Central with a 1-game lead over the 4-3 St. Louis Cardinals, who they will play next at their house.

Carlos Marmol is a perfect 4-for-4 in saves opportunities, which ties him with JJ Putz for the NL lead.

Out of the 5 wins, only M. Garza is in the win column when it comes to the starters. The bullpen has been outstanding early in the season notching 4 wins (Wood, Castillo, Mateo, Camp). The Chicago offense has just not been able to manufacture any early run-support for the starting staff. No patience early in the game. lol

                            B. Lahair leads the team in homeruns with 2. Soriano leads the team in doubles with 3, while T. Campana leads the team in triples with 2. Lahair and DeJesus lead the team in RBI with 5 each.

                            Cubs are 19th in the MLB in hitting with a .230 batting average (I. Stewart: .240, S. Castro: .222, A. Soriano: .217).

The team ERA at 3.00, ties them from 9th in the MLB with the SF Giants. Garza has the lowest among the starters with a 1.38 ERA. Closer C. Marmol has not allowed a single run in his 4 appearances. The Cubs pitching staff is 5th in the MLB with 55 strikeouts. Dempster leads the team with 13, Garza is 2nd with 12, and reliever L. Castillo is 3rd with 7.

Off to play my old division foe, the St. Louis Cardinals.
