Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
Kind of what I'm doing now. Platooning ibanez and jones in RF and using Wise as a pinch runner late in the game if needed. I just finished my last game of inter league play for 2012 so wise has seen a good amount of gametime the last few games. So far so good.I'd give the platoon a shot assuming:
1. Either one of them are hitting and your team is hitting poorly
2. Neither of them are hitting but the rest if your team is
Wise can cover you late in games when you need a bit more speed. Not that Swisher is an Olympic athlete or anything...PSN: ckarlic

These are AWESOME! Have you considered making a dynasty thread? Cause these look real nice. Here we go! More pictures as my royals boost their record to 2-2. In this extra inning slugfest, hosmer homered twice, wells once, and Gordon with the go ahead. Getz also hit a solo shot. A* potential danny duffy threw well. How are the pics!?

Pirates Update ~May 4th, 2012~
Split a four-game set with the Braves before taking two of three from the Cardinals to start the month of may. Beginning a three-game series with the Reds to start a homestand where I'll face the Astros and Nationals as well.
Pitching has been outstanding yet still lacking a bit on the hitting side. J-Mac has been terrific, same with Bedard, but offense lacking for J-Mac. I called up Gerrit Cole to replace Correia because Correia was 0-3 with an ERA over 5.00. More detailed stuff here.Comment

Bengerman's Phillies Franchise (Year Three!)
Standings:
Phillies (44-24)
Marlins (5.5 GB)
Nationals (7.5 GB)
Braves (7.5 GB)
Mets (19.5 GB)
Notables:
Astros (38-28)
Reds (38-28)
Giants (38-28)
Yankees (42-26)
Red Sox (35-32)
Tigers (38-28)
Royals (37-31)
Rangers (42-24)
Athletics (40-28)
Thoughts:
- Interesting to see some younger teams that have really built themselves up in the past few years. A's, Royals, Astros, and Pirates all in contention.
- I feel pretty darn confident that I have the best team in baseball. 5th in runs scored, and 1st in ERA. A darn good combination.
- There aren't any real threats in my Division outside of the Nats and maybe the Braves. The Nats have a plethora of young talent, and I'm afraid this will be my last year on top of the division.
- To further my point, Rollins, Howard, Ruiz, and Michael Young have all dealt with injuries this year.
- Tyler Greene, my prized SS prospect, is still a couple of years from being MLB ready. Seeing as I'll be lucky to have Rollins for more than the last two years of his contract, it will be interesting to keep an eye on.
- Can you say dominance? Halladay (2.06 ERA, 93/8 K/BB ratio, .92 WHIP), and Worley (1.67 ERA, 9.3 K/9, .98 WHIP). Wow.
- In 95 AB's since his return, Ryan Howard has hit 10 HRs, .339 BA, 25 RBIs. Possible MVP Candidate?
- Michael Young has been everything I could have hoped for .321 BA, 34 RBIs, 3 HRs.
- Surprise of the season? Freddy Galvis, hitting an incredible .307, with 8 HR's and 37 RBIs. Lots of pop for a little guy.
- Could this be the year I win my first World Series in MLB The Show? I hope so, but as with the past two years, I'll have injuries to worry about. Howard was out last year for the playoffs, and Rollins/Utley in my first year. Have to cross my fingers and hope that doesn't happen. All players 30+ years old have been getting a ton of extra rest.

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
Hey so I'm in first about 6 games ahead of Boston and currently on a 4 game losing streak. Jeter is hitting .201 this yr. It's pretty much killing me. I'm almost to the point of just self inflicting an injury on him. Should I just sit him for a series? I would put Gardner at the top of the lineup but he's doing good near the end batting .314. He has been great on bunting for RBI and bases. I can't do much with him when I put him in the start of the lineup.
Pretty much just wondering what I should do with jeter. Obviously too much respect to trade/bench forever but I just out of options. Thanks. Oh, and if it matters: He is making contact just not hitting gaps. Always grounders. I even wait for my pitches I get quite a bit of walks while playing. (I think i'm on june 21)5Comment

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
Thanks to outstanding pitching (so very unrealistic, lol) the Colorado Rockies are 8-7 after taking two-of-three games from the Milwaukee Brewers.
In the final game of the series, the Rockies rallied from a 1-0 9th inning deficit to win 3-1. Marco Scutaro evened the score with an RBI double, then scored on a Carlos Gonzalez groundout to 2B (Weeks had to go deep in the hole and did the jump-throw animation so I waved Scutaro around and he beat the 1B's throw home by a step). Troy Tulowitzki then blasted a solo HR to LCF. Rafael Betancourt picked up his 5th save, working a 1-2-3 bottomm of the 9th.
Rockies are last in MLB with a .208 team BA. Second-fewest runs scored and near the bottom in HRs and on-base percentage. I have drawn just over 3 walks per game, which is refreshing, and my strikeouts are middle of the pack.
