It's one of the shoulder buttons (the left I think) before you select your pitch of course. Tap and release."Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"Comment

Played a game as Atlanta vs Washington tonight and lost 1-0. The game is awesome on the VITA. I might have a chance at finishing a season now that I can take it with me.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread
Had to switch to Classic pitching, as Pulse was a bit too tough on the Vita's screen for me.
I'm struggling to hit the ball, but I'm happy to put the work in.
Overall, the game plays very smooth, which is all I can ask for.Currently Playing:

I am also finding pulse pitching incredibly difficult on the Vita. With that said, this game is incredible.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread
This is a nifty little game. It's not some generic stripped down version, it's "The Show" on the road man.
Meter pitching fans dont worry it works great on the Vita. Pure Analog pitching was too tough for me on the little sticks and I didn't like Pulse Pitching. Every time I thought I nailed it I didn't, and when I thought I messed it up I threw a great pitch. Meter gives me the most control - power & accuracy along with N/S/E/W movement. For example, I can throw low & away easily on meter without even aiming the ball. When batting Zone + Button works best for me; dual analog was a bit tough.
Here are my thoughts after about 6 games (I played 2 full games and the others messing around with various settings)...
+ Graphics are fine for me. They're too bright or dark in some spots depending on weather and time of day but you can't expect perfection. It's the first iteration of a portable game so overall job well done.
+ I love the quick pace of the game, but yea it needs some cut scenes during big moments like home runs.
+ Bullpen improvements: It's about time I don't have to micro-manage my bullpen. I used to hate it when you went to bring in a reliever but he'd be too tired. Well where the heck is the bullpen coach? Stretch & Toss is a nice addition so the pen is well done.
+ Commentary is much better than expected, and the Vita has really good sound. Very nice!
+ To throw a pickoff at 1st base all you have to do is sweep your finger behind the Vita - nice.
+ Maicer Izturis is no longer hitting 460 foot bombs in Home Run Derby so I'm glad power was toned down. Now he can barely get it out of the park.
- After 22 innings the CPU is really inept. My first game (pitching on All Star level) was a shutout and my second (HOF level) was another shutout. So I thought maybe I'm a meter God so I switched to classic pitching and have allowed 1 hit in 4 innings. ???
- CPU doesn't seem to put any balls in play that are thrown outside the strike zone. You have to throw it over the plate if you want to see the new ball physics. Most anything outside is fouled, swing & miss or taken.
- Batting: There seems to be a glitch when I click down on the D-pad to call time out. It doesn't give you any time out, I want a good 3-5 seconds to think about my approach for the next pitch.
- According to the impressions most people seem to have problems batting. I've been saying this every year and I'll say it again. We need a pitch recognition system! MVP had it (Hitters Eye), 2K has it (which includes audio cues), PYS has it (Batting Point). This would've been a great option to implement & test out on the portable where it's really needed.
- Still only a 5 pitch repertoire? I'd like to see more in the future.
- There's still basically no risk when throwing inside. If you bean 3 batters you get ejected so that's something at least. Speaking of which, I beaned 20 batters (a yearly tradition) and there were no injuries. I want to see someone get hurt, and I want to see the CPU extract revenge and hit one of my batters. Now the "inside game" matters because I just put my team at risk. The animations when throwing at batters are nicely done though.Comment
