No blinking at all on my samsung led tv.

To those complaining of graphics hits, try these settings.

And to anyone using a Vizio (mine is the E37OVL), are you saying that being in true "Game Mode" is enough to eliminate lag?

I've never heard of this glitch when changing the Vizio's screen option? And when I originally set my TV up, even within Game Mode, I STILL had to turn off additional post processing filters. Will I need to not only turn off and back on Game Mode, but reset these filters everytime as well?
      Correct. 10 chars.

Plugged PS3 into the DVI port and changed it to the PC setting and its NIGHT AND DAY difference

PLayed 4 games yesterday without this and got shutout 2 games and only scored 2 runs in the game i did win. Hitting felt like i had to get lucky every at bat. Played my first game with this today and scored 8 runs with 2 homeruns and 12 hits!

The graphics do take a pretty big hit but you can turn your contrast up to 100 which helps a lot. I knew we just didn't all suck at this game i mean come on most of us have been gamers all of our life's

I am super early now on every off speed pitch and can work the count with every batter. May have to bump up to hall of fame setting. Just wish the graphics didnt take the huge they do
I totally agree, I could never understand why after years of playing this game I still needed Veteran to even have a chance.

But the hit that the graphics takes makes this solution very bittersweet. The game looks so bad now that I'm not even sure its worth it to make the change.

But what about this part at the bottom of that post? Isn't The Show only supporting 720p?

remember this is only for games that support 1080p

if the game goes down to 720p or lower then PC mode is automatically disabled and you will notice by all the greyed out options being tweakable again..

My colors changed to my tv's default when I switched, but I was then able to adjust the settings well enough that the difference between regular and PC modes is negligible. PC mode is a bit less saturated for me. That's my only noticeable difference. I did have a few TV options greyed out on PC mode, but they were less significant options. It's a shame if some people's displays take a more dramatic and less adjustable hit.

I like PC Mode - however, 1080p brings out tons of jaggies, especially around the mound. If it wasn't for that, it would look pretty good! I have a Samsung.

Disregard it. I've tried both 1080p and 720p and there's no difference at all, options stay greyed out. The game must run at 720 for best performance.

First off, the size of the TV has no DIRECT correlation with the lag. Just so happens that bigger TVs have more features, which cause a lot of the lag issues. Plasma will not have issues. Newer LCD TVs that are more full featured will and LEDs will also (because they're more high end).

These higher end TVs have great refresh rates, which are great for games. Problems ocurs with motion effects mainly. It's what makes movies and sports look so smooth, but the calibration involved will mess up timing in games.

A calibration tool is tougher for MLB than Rock Band because timing is sporadically different in MLB, where one song of Rock Band will be the same pace.

To the resolution of the problem -- everyone has really taken care of that. Game Mode for most TVs should work. Worked on my 52" Samsung LCD and 55" Sony Bravia 3D TV. There is also a PC setting -- much like the setting of game mode -- and it is NOT a PC connection (e.g. VGA, DVI, etc.) If this doesn't work, create a custom setting where you turn all extra features off like one poster suggested.

If this fails, check the AV forums. Just Google your TVs model number included with the word lag -- should get you in the right place. While the posters on this site are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about baseball, I can see now they aren't too tech savvy when it comes to AV stuff. AV forums are better for this.

Apologies for being long-winded, but I had to resolve some of the false statements. Bigger LCD TVs don't all have this problem -- just happens that bigger LCD TVs typically have the features causing the problems. So while there is correlation there, it is not causation

I haven't gone through the rest of the board but almost all of this is rubbish, unfortunately.

More fully features has nothing to do with input lag, it's all about the panel. Also, plasmas could have problems because plasmas suffer input lag just like everything else. Plasma's render motion better in terms of less visible motion blur or "ghosting" but that's not what people have an issue with.

Also, "refresh rates" have nothing to do with this either. LCD/LEDs have 120hz/204hz (done in different ways) to reduce motion blur but this has nothing at all to do with input lag.

wow what an improvement changing the setting to pc mode and forcing 1080p.

thanks!!!! i did that forcing thing in 08/09 i believe but not since.

but unfortunately doesn't look as good because of the jaggies, but lowering sharpness helped a bit. in a way though, i like it because the picture seems crisper. whatever ill take it for the improved hitting.

Does anyone who is utilizing this "PC Mode" have a recent Sony Bravia? I've been going through every manual I can find, using Google, etc, and I just don't find any actual way to use a "PC Mode" through HDMI on my TV. I looked at the operating manual for my TV though and it happens to say things like "Auto Adjust not available for HDMI PC." So it HAS to be there somehow.....right? But I go through every single menu option and I just do not see any way to do it.

Hustlinowl has/had a Vizio too. He seemed quite sure in his settings and never mention this issue. Hustlin, care to chime in?
I also changed the "Smooth Motion Affect" to off, being that my TV is 120hz. But I know for a fact that its toggling Game Mode off then on. I found the answer from a poster on AVS Forum that did a whole lag test & this is what he said:

Something worth noting: If you are experiencing lag of upwards of 150 ms while gaming, (the controls will feel VERY floaty, easily noticeable if FPS's or fighting games) try turning the Settings/Game Mode: to OFF then turn Game Mode back ON. I was experiencing lag for about a week and was ready to give up on the TV... Then I decided to try this and it worked like a charm.
I have been patiently waiting for the 65 inch samsung D8000 to come out, but it looks like mid to late summer. I am watching a 37 inch olevia that is 6 years old, is 720p and has a contrast ratio of 1500:1. I think at the price for this new vizio, it might just be a good stop gap until the big...

Should you set your source to "PC" or "DVI PC"? I have my hdmi plugged into input 1 HDMI/DVI. I haven't played enough to notice a difference (they both help with lag) but I do lose sound with DVI PC mode.

                            Thanks.

I believe it is supposed to be DVI PC. I also had the issue with losing sound on that mode. Haven't found a solution to it yet though.
