    Gary Brown
    Joe Panik

    -

I am right around the .500 mark but am pretty much out of the division race since I am in 4th place 10.5 games back of the Yankees, 7 games back of the Red Sox and 2 games back of the Blue Jays. I am also 5th in the wild card race so there is little chance of a playoff berth. I also need to plan for the future which is where Brown comes in. B.J. Upton is a free agent at the end of the year and will command more money than I want to give him since the Rays have such a low payroll. Brown will also be major league ready on opening day of 2013 to take right over for a departing Upton. Burriss will immediately take over Zobrist's spot in the #2 hole but will not be re-signed at the end of the year so he is just a rental. Panik will actually be groomed to be the everyday 2B and should be ready by 2014.

As for the Giants, they are currently in 1st in their division with a 1.5 game lead over the Dodgers. They are also only two games behind the Phillies for the best record in the NL. They have a gaping hole at 2B right now and Zobrist still has two years left on his contract and is an A overall and is currently hitting .286 with 13 HR, 39 RBI and 8 SB at the moment and will help them immensely on their playoff run.

Even though the CPU offered it to me, is this a fair trade?
That's terribly unfair that's their 2 best prospects. And Burriss is a bum so be really doesn't matter

Nah if you maybe add a B it might be fair but I don't think they'd trade Beachy anyways even though he's badly overrated

I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil

Yeah Burriss is just a throw in on their part as with Zobrist they wouldn't need him anyway.

Brown is their #1 prospect for sure and Panik is currently their #4.

It definitely feels like I am getting the best of it by far, especially when it comes to long term value.

I have not accepted the trade yet and I probably won't.

that is a bit much for a good but not great player....i'd accept a 2 B's for Zobrist

I need a trade involving Dempster in my Cubs franchise. The arbitration thread has given me no luck, not even a response. I'm 5-16 and Dempster is 2-3 on the year.

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

                  Need a quick response:

It's July 31st and I need to figure out what I can do to make my 1st place Brewers team a sure fired World Series favorite (I have instant trades on).

These are the two trades I'm looking into and need not only a opinion on if they are good for my team, but also if I should tweak them at all:

Brewers trade: SS Clint Barmes (decent vet), A prospect SP, and C prospect RP

Astros trade: SS Jed Lowrie (B and good spot starter), and C prospect RP who can reach high 90s on the radar gun.

Astros are the worst team in the league and wanted a good switch hitter and defender off the bench for more quality hits.

Brewers trade: A prospect SP, B prospect RP (both MLB ready within a year)

                  Cubs trade: Matt Garza

It's impossible to trade for Lowrie without giving up an A SP but I want him pretty bad and I'm just wondering if getting another SP is worth anything.

                  My pitching rotation is:

                  Greinke
                  Gallardo
                  Marcum (Cy Young leading candidate)
                  Wolf
                  Narveson

Mostly just looking to beef up the back end of rotation and obviously Garza would do more than just that.

I don't. Dempster hasn't been throwing well for me, and looks like he needs to be on a winning team at this stage in his career. Also, Randy Wells is like 4-0 with a sub 1 ERA in AAA. I would like to give him one more shot and maybe up his trade stock by the deadline. Dempster is proven and can help a rotation, but isn't needed in mine.

Astros would have no use for Barmes so remove him...Lowrie is worth nothing more then a couple of B's if he's lighting the world on fire....i'd add another high B in the Garza trade

Cincinatti is hot and leading the league, and could use help, because Bailey and Leake are really struggling. Cleveland and Baltimore are right in the race. Pittsburgh is above .500. San Diego is above .500 and needing pitching help. Philly lost Halladay for the year, so they are probably the favorite. Dempster just beat them as well in the last game.
