Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I'm the Kansas City Royals and i'm currently 2 games out of 1st (32-30) and I have NO power in my lineup. Billy Butler and Jeff Francouer have a combined 5 home runs through 60 games...seriously. Mous and Hosmer are carrying the load with 24 between them, but I need a right handed power bat.
I signed Jorge Soler to start the season (he was a FA) EDIT: And Wil Myers isn't performing well enough to call him up yet
Is this trade fair:
Butler
Francouer
M. Mongomery (A)
for
Bautista
Romero
I don't know! I threw that trade offer at them thinking I'd have to lower my expectations, but they were in favor of it. Montgomery is one of my top pitching prospects, and Butler and Francouer are highly rated (I should note Francouer is hitting .310, just no power).
Curious if others had a hard time getting Bautista or if they've seen a difference in a team being "in the hunt" or out of it."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Really? Well I guess it's better that I am getting screwed as the Cubs instead of screwing the computer. Ok so what about this trade?
Castro and Samardzija/ Garza for Storen and J. Zimmermann?
I have also been thinking about Zimmermann and Harper for Castro, Samardzija and Brett Jackson.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
You know, until Scott's rosters come out.
Yeah, it wasn't fair, either. Has there ever been an instance of someone fairly trading for two legitimate A rated MLBers? Like, trading for.... Trying to think of two A's on the Athletics.... Cespedes and... Erm..... Wow, that kinda sucks."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Because I am always here. Lurking in the darkness, the depths of OS. Waiting, watching. And I will never leave.

Closers aren't worth much, so that's basically Castro and Samar-not even gonna/Garza for Zimmerman.
Why do you want to trade Castro?"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I want to trade Castro because he isn't producing like he has in real life (hitting about .246 late July). I love him as a player in real life just not in this game.
I ended up traded Castro, Jackson, and Garza for Harper and J. Zimmermann.
I know not realistic but I don't think its an unfair trade. Nationals give up 2 A's for 2 A's and a B.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I feel closers and relievers are undervalued especially in this game. I can't tell you how many times I have had the lead and my crappy closer has blown the save. That is why I was wanting a stud closer like Storen.

There are SO MANY WAYS to prove that closers are useless.
NFG, we knew it was only a matter of time until someone traded for Harper. Thoughts?"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Actually, any trade for Harper is pretty unfair.... ESPECIALLY when one of those players isn't producing, and the other is still in AAA.

Harper was hitting around a .230 with only 10 home runs and Zimmermann was 2-6 with a low 4.00 ERA.
Castro could play 2nd and Jackson will take over CF. Like I said not realistic (not going for complete realism) but it's not an unfair trade.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Ok let me paint a clearer picture for you guys. At the time of the trade Castro was hitting the .246. Jackson was tearing it up in AAA hitting over .320 with 16 home runs. Garza was pitching pretty well with a 3-4 record and a sub 3.00 ERA.
Harper was hitting around a .230 with only 10 home runs and Zimmermann was 2-6 with a low 4.00 ERA.

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Just shy of the All-Star break, Pirates are out of it of course and I'm looking to build for future seasons. Was thinking about taking this into the Arbitration Panel to see what the Rockies or Orioles reps think.
Looking to maybe package Erik Bedard (8-6, 106 IP, 3.22 ERA, 105 H, 102 K, 24 BB) and Casey McGehee (.286, 10 2B, 3 3B, 8 HR in 238 AB) to a contender. Would I be entirely out of line in looking for a low- to mid-B? Would a selection of C's be more fair? Thanks!Comment
