Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Ahh, I remembered the trade I was gonna ask about!
I have no clue about this one; Say it's the 2012 offseason. Dexter Fowler had a good year (.290 AVG, .370 OBP, decent power, good spped) and John Lester had a good year (15+ wins, low 3's ERA, more or less the John Lester we all know), how would a deal centered around the two of them work? Even? Someone needs to give more/less?
And another one....
What's a good player under the age of, say, 28, that a mid B and two low B's could get you?
Last one, I swear:
What's Matt Belsile worth? Actually, going back to the first one, would Lester for Fowler/Belsisle be fair?
Sorry guys, I had these pent up inside me while I was away haha.Last edited by AC; 09-01-2012, 03:19 PM."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

If you were to trade for Belisle in a separate deal I'd say he's worth a low B assuming he's putting up his usual solid SU numbers. Some might argue two C's instead...
As for your mystery player of under 28 for 3 B's, what positions are you looking to fill?Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Lester for Fowler is certainly interesting and adding Belisle is a realistic twist. Can't see the Sox trading Lester without getting a SP in return and them acquiring Fowler without having an opening in CF. Sure he could go LF but I feel they'd rather go back the Manny route and put a real bat out there. Assuming Ellsbury is gone through a separate trade and Fowler could be plugged into CF, how about Lester, Saltalamacchia for Fowler, Belisle and Friedrich?

Maybe more stats for Fowler? But I would think the fowler side would need to give up more

Got a certain position in mind?

I think Belisle could be worth a mid-high C. I don't think the Sox would give up Lester for those two though, considering how shaky their rotation is.

Mystery player...
CarGo
MilkCarton
Colby Rasmus
Alex Gordon
Peter Bourjos
BJ Upton
Will Venable
Rickie Weeks
Nick Markakis
Not necessarily 3 B's for each player above but they'd let you land any of these guys
EDIT: CarGo might be more of one A and two B's instead of 3 B's. That's something his current stats would have to determineFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Ok then I agree that Lester straight up for Fowler and Belisle could happen and I view that as fair if it fills a need for both parties.

Is that out of curiosity, or do you really need to know? It's a plot point in my franchise, and I can't give it away easily. (Not the Jays) I can PM with you."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Gordon is making 12 million per year and that kind of money should have him perform like in 2011. If 2013 turns out like 2012 for him, I can see him being shopped as Cain and Myers should have settled in nicely and another one of the young Royals prospect could be knocking on the door.
Jones got his 6 year, 85 million extension with the O's but people forget that Markakis is making 15 mil/year, is underperforming and has been underperforming for a while now. I think Angelos could force Duquette's hand in a losing season where he'd wake up one morning wanting to save some of that cash owed to MarkakisFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I was just curious. If he's on a team that he's their best pitcher and outfield depth, I would be hesitant to approve because Lester means more to that team than Fowler/Belisle ever would. Talent-wise, the trade is pretty goodComment
