Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Doing a Nats chise and knowing I won't get further than one year(If I make it that long), I decided to just let Bryce Haprer Start in RF. I have myself at CF(all speed and defense with barely D for contact & power) so that makes Werth expendable.

I put him on the block and noticed the Yankees have Brett Gardner who is getting no time in their lineup. They have Andru Jones starting in LF and another player rated higher than Gardner in their organization. Now they do have Nick Swisher in RF but Werth would be an upgrade.

Morse is terrible in LF(slow and horribly defensively) so I am going to move him to 1st and let Gardner play LF, while giving me a much needed lead off hitter.

I am thinking about doing a straight up trade of Werth for Gardner. Is that too low of a asking price for Werth or just right?

What do you think it'd take to get Michael Taylor from Oakland?

I need a good hitting middle infielder, I cant f***ing stand Cliff Pennington. Any suggestions?

And nofatgirlz, what do you think about calling up Yordy Cabrera in my franchise? Pennington is hitting .176 right now. I started Cabrera in AA and recently moved him up to AAA, what's your opinion of me calling up Cabrera in early June? I am desperate to replace Pennington

his ETA IRL is 2014 so my opinion is u'd be rushing him way too quick.....i rather sign or trade for a guy to hold the fort down like Ian Desmond, Jason Bartlett, Reid Brignac, etc.. depending on how other teams are doing in ur franchise

Baseball America has Cabrera's ETA at late 2013, so I'd be about a year and a half early, but he is almost 22 and at the plate is a big upgrade over Pennington. Desmond is a guy I looked at trading for, but he and Pennington have almost identical ratings: C overall, D contact, F power, C speed, B potential, and Pennington has the edge in fielding with a C to Desmond's D rating.

One guy I like is Billy Hamilton of the Reds, but he is in the same situation as Cabrera, 21 years old, ETA 2014. I also like a few 2B that I could move to SS: Gordon Beckham, Danny Espinosa, and Logan Forsythe. A couple other guys I like at SS are Clint Barmes and Yunel Escobar. I am willing to give up just about anyone to upgrade at shortstop.

Not related to trades, but what batting stance do you use for Cespedes? The roster I downloaded uses Joey Votto, and Sony's roster uses Edwin Encarnacion

I'd be willing to give up a lot for Hamilton, but just like Cabrera, he isn't realisticly major league ready til at least next season.

What do you think about either Espinosa or Forsythe?
