Heres a trade I just completed with the Giants to what I hope turns out to be my future 1st baseman power bat.

Indians (Me) get:
1B-Angel Villalona (B potential, hope to have at MLB level in 1-2 yrs)
2B-Freddy Sanchez (nice optional leadoff hitter and utility guy to help in playoff push. Only plan on keeping the rest of the year and possibly next year)

Giants (They were looking for a 1B and 2B) get:
1B-Matt Laporta (B potential, to fill the void for Belt due to injury)
2B-Jason Donald (B potential, batting .283 for me before trade)
SP-Austin Adams (C potential who was having a great year at AA akron)

Not much of an upgrade for either team. Mainly filled some needs for both and also gave them a young pitcher to train or trade. Helped relieve SF of some money with them getting rid of Sanchez. They get a nice utility infielder in Donald and I get the same in the return, except with more experience, which was also something I was looking for with my young team.

I have a Pirates franchise as well, and I managed to get Billy Butler from the Royals to play First Base and Emilio Bonifacio from the Marlins, who I moved to shortstop, without giving up Cole, Bell, Marte, McPherson or Taillon. I think Heredia was in one of them though, but I forgot who all I included. I did both of the deals early in the season and I'm only like 7 games in. Butler is doing well for me in the 4 hole, and Bonifacio is doing decent as the leadoff and he's playing great defense. You can bunt for a hit with him 60-70% of the time you try, maybe more.

Good call on Butler- turns out he's on the DL though. Really looking at Adam Jones. He's having a monster year for the O's in my franchise and feel like he could be exactly what my team needs to make the playoffs. I'm having a hard time putting together a trade for him. Looking at a combination of:

-Starling Marte CF
-Luis Heredia RHP (Said I wouldn't trade him, but I will for AJ)
-Tony Sanchez C (Possibly another RHP or OF if they don't need him)

Would this be enough in real life, or would I need to substitute someone like Heredia for another top prospect like Taillon, and substitute Sanchez for another RHP or OF? I would prefer Marte to be the centerpiece of the trade as opposed to someone like Taillon.

Good call on Butler- turns out he's on the DL though. Really looking at Adam Jones. Awesome. Thanks to you and Totte. Can't wait to make the deal tonight. My offense has been abysmal- while my rotation has been very solid. Hopefully this can put me over the edge.

I can definitely see both Burnett and Rodney being dealt if you're out of the playoff hunt. Given their age and contracts I'd say go for it if you can find a deal that suits your needs or if you wanna do a straigh salary dump for a C prospect.
