Anyways, I'm in mid-May and have 30 team control on. The Mariners just signed Roy Oswalt from the free agent list to which I'm of course like, no way, wouldn't happen. Oswalt wants to play half a season on a contender (cake and eat it too). The M's have 11 wins in nearly 40 games. But, I can't get them to stop signing him. Do you know of a way around this?

The only way I could see is to find is to determine the best destination for him and sign him with them. TEX is probably the best team but all of their pitchers are healthy to the point that Derek Hollnd is in AAA. HOU is out of it, and ATL looks similar to TEX. I thought that those would be the first choices for him.

The Pads are first in the west at 21-16 and a couple of their pitches are not performing that well (50-60% QS) but they are contending and could use him. They are NL and warm weather--would this be unrealistic? Otherwise, he's looking at CIN, NYM, WAS, MIN, CHI-A, DET, LAA. Ideally, he'D stay as a FA for another month at least but is there another way around it?
    What are their records?

I'm not near my PS3 so I can't give exact records.
DET near .500 as is CWS, 2 GB
      NYM, WAS, CIN 2GB
      MIN leading ALCentral around 21-17ish
LAA will be looking at a wild card fight as TEX is running away wth it.

I'd probably go with WAS or DET.

Is that the only option though, to have another team sign him now? Would signing someone else for SEA solve the problem?

Sign him with SEA, trade him. If you're using 30 team, which I'm assuming you are.

I don't want hm signing with anybody though, that's my point. I tried waiving him but of course MIL claims him...

What could I get for Edwin Encarnacion?

                .258/.329/.472, 30 HRs.

Wrong thread for both those questions.

Damon doesn't carry any more value in a trade than a D prospect. I'd outright release him if you don't want him on your team any longer

Obvious question but did you sign the players? Like AC said, you should probably take this over to the draft thread instead.

As for the options, it's just like IRL. Google contract options and you'll find an answer unless there's something in the transaction handbook in your inbox while in franchise mode

What kind of highway robbery i can get away with by trading a 2-7 Johan Santana with a league-leading 1.68 ERA 1.12 WHIP and 128 K's just a week removed from the ASB?
