        3) NEVER, and i mean NEVER sign a free agent just to use him as trade bait (people used to do this in my Madden leagues and it would drive me crazy).

Patton also gets shelled every time I use him. I have only used him in exhibition games. I dont have a orioles franchise.

Patton's dad used to be the boss where I worked, he was first drafted by the astros. Anyway Pattons dad took me to a Astros game once after meeting the goals he set for us. I got to meet and talk to Patton several times, before he was drafted and after. I aslo got to meet Lance Berkman and others but Berkman was the only one I really cared about meeting. It was really cool to get behind the scene access to a baseball game, but I doubt it will ever happen again. Not real life good friends with patton or any of the former astors.

I was just invited because I met the goals at work, and it was his Dad's gift to those that did to go the game and meet people. It was a day i will never forgot

Hey Guys. I just started a franchise and I did a fantasy draft. I was unable to draft Josh Beckett though and since he is my favorite pitcher I thought I would just trade for him. Anyways I want to know what you guys think about the trade I made. Just let me know whether or not you think it is fair because I don't want to be ripping the computer off and have that "cheesy" feeling when I pitch with Beckett lol. Thanks.

depends on what teams need a CF

Pennington and Donaldson feels like a high price to pay for Forsythe. Can you get a lesser prospect back in return as well?

I'd probably argue that giving up just Bumgarner who is already a MLB pitcher and 22 yo with A potential, would be almost too much for Beckett at 31.....The fact that you threw in a couple prospects (one being A potential) would really make me say you have nothing to worry about in terms of it feeling "cheesy".

If Beckett was really the guy you wanted, then it makes sense in that regard.....You gave up a lot to get the guy you really wanted. So imo you gave up more than enough to be able to feel that was "fair".

Ok thanks for the quick responses guys. I was hoping for answers like that lol. Maybe I gave up too much to get Beckett, but he is going to be my number one starter on top of being my favorite pitcher, so I felt like I should be giving up a lot to get him.

I have Russell Branyan rotting in AAA right now. He's probably had under 20 MLB at-bats this year.

I think I have to wait 60 days from signing him to trade him, but if I do, I was wondering:

Is a Yankees AAA Branyan worth even one C Prospect for a team needing some pop?

                                Or...

Would it be more realistic to just flat out release him?

Realism is key for me here, but I'd still like to know his trade value, regardless.
