I didnt see untouchable in there, just didnt want to trade them for JUpton or Josh Johnson. I personally dont think Profar would ever move, but I could see Andrus moving. ITS VERY UNLIKELY. But it could happen and ANDRUS isnt untouchable imo.

If they're not willing to trade him for a five-tool 25-year-old, why would they trade him for a 38-year-old rental pitcher who's wanting a ton of cash after one great season?"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

You said Texas wont trade Profar, Olt, or Andrus. I said they would. I didnt mean for Dickey though, I was just saying that I could see them moving Andrus or Olt.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Well obviously, for something huge, but I don't see how just trading them in general is relevant to this."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Just chiming in, I doubt Verlander would get dealt after the two seasons you described AC. I personally don't think that two years removed from being the best pitcher in baseball, and after a couple of un-Verlander like seasons. DD being the GM that he is and the fact that he could be had for a much lower price than advanced metrics say he should be worth makes him appealing to hold on to. HOWEVER, I think the value you described was fair if he were to be traded. Personally I don't see a scenario where Verlander moves anytime soon, unless he's walking away on his own accord but if its realistic enough for you, then go for it.Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

OK I definitely gotta listen to 35...
Do you realize he's a rental? I'm not asking sarcastically, I'm just wondering because I wrote a freaking essay and you may have missed. I think they'd try and get max value."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

OK, to the OP, Dickey for an A is probably fine."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I saw that, and that's why I think they may hold on to him. I mean, in theory they could get JJ back...but his injury history makes him scary to acquire, especially considering Verlander is a horse and will make 200 innings and 32-35 starts a season every year. I just don't see them selling when his value is low, if anything they'd hold him til the deadline and see where they stood. His value could go up or they could be contending, or both.
Again, I personally don't see it...but I will openly admit that I have bias here. If everyone else thinks he can move, I can respect that and move onCheck out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

I think the only way they'd sell so low if they got a great package back, which they are.
JJ hasn't been injured once for more than a couple starts (read: 2-3) since 2011, I don't think, if he's been injured at all.
I can understand your bias, and I think I have a great hypothetical comp.
Say Jose Bautista followed his 54 HR, awesome 2010, with a 20 HR/.240 AVG season, and then in 2013 hit like .230 with 15 homers. I mean, the dude's great and had an amazing season, but there's no reason not to trade him, especially if you got a great package back."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

He hasn't reached 200 IP in either of the past two years.

Again, I'm not saying it can't or wouldn't happen, I'm just saying I wouldn't pull the trigger. Verlander's MVP upside and potential tops a couple blue chip prospects and an injury-waiting-to-happen in Johnson IMO.
EDIT: Forgot to address Bautista, while that comp is good...the only difference is that Verlander has been a consistent force in the rotation from day one in 2006 (except the one year where he lost himself, was it 07 or 08, I can't remember?) Bautista's season could have potentially been a flash in the pan since he hadn't done anything prior to that and he was aging, Verlander had been a consistent mid to high 3 ERA guy with 170+ K since he came up.Last edited by TheNumber35; 11-11-2012, 09:42 PM.Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
What do you think I could get for Wright? I'm interested in sending him to KC, since they're close to contending and Wright would be a great veteran presence for them. Any chance I could get Moustakas/Myers and someone else (maybe a young B or C arm) for David?
Wright's stats are: .315 BA, 23 HR, 97 RBI, 14 SB, 4 Errors (Golden Glove Winner)
I recently signed him to a 5 year deal (club option for 6th) worth around 16.5 million per year.Last edited by fanofikedavis; 11-11-2012, 09:45 PM.Comment

If I were in the shoes of the GM, I wouldn't pull the trigger. I've never been all that high on Johnson, especially considering his injury history. But I definitely know there are GMs who would pull it.

There IS Justin Nicolino... Went 11-7 (irrelevant) with a 4.17 ERA, he's our highest B, one step from an A (I have simmed an confirmed this), and he's been hot for most of the season (had one terrible start, has a good DIPS but I'm not at my PS3 anymore).
He's only 21."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment
