    Okay.. narrowed it down.
What would it take to get Bogaerts from PHI (2.5 back in wildcard) or Iglesias from Boston (last in div).

    Escobar and who for either?

Traded Cain to STL for 2 minor league pitchers.

Still on the fence about trading Gordon though

WTF Bogaerts is in PHI in your game? Bogaerts is a number 58 (will be in top 40/50) prospect. He'd cost ALOT. Iglesias... wellllll, I don't like him. Probably 3 high B's or Cain

OK, no one shoot me for this, 'cause I think it's conceivable...

Do you guys think Justin Verlander could realistically be traded coming off two piss-poor seasons?

The 30 year old Verlander is entering the last year of his 3 year, 66MM contract. After his great-but-not-MVP-imo 2011, he was extremely iffy in 2012, with a 4.18 ERA and only 179 strikeouts. This year (2013), he was even worse. A 4.74 ERA has made him significantly overpaid. Now, a 4.057 DIPS shows that he isn't as bad as his ERA would suggest, but that he's still pretty bad. His BABIP (.309) should regress *slightly* but not by more than a couple points. He's struck more guys out this year but has moved down in the rotation and didn't even reach 200 innings.

The Tigers slightly won the AL Central but don't seem to have much of a chance in the playoffs against much better teams. Their pitching has been pretty terrible. I think if I could give them a big-league pitcher to help replace them (Josh Johnson, probably) and two mid B's, it would be fair and realistic.

JJ is a high A coming off a 3.85 ERA/3.031 DIPS season. He'd be a one year rental like Verlander (JJ has an option, I think) and could be their ace pretty easily.

I could also give up some prospects who are MLB ready, like Chad Jenkins (coming off a good season, and an extremely awesome 2012), instead.

Thoughts? If you guys don't like it I understand.

        Also, I'm thinking two mid B's for a 3.97 ERA/1.54 WHIP/.288 avg/getting BOMBED by righties/3.2 DIPS Aaron Crow.

        Finally, how much for a 3.42 ERA/1.28 WHIP/.255 avg/3.2 DIPS Scott Baker?

Sorry about all the questions, but it's getting closer to the off-season in my chise and it's gonna be an extremely difficult one. Gotta get creative. If you guys need any more stats, I'm at my PS3 and should be for most of the day.

Wow, those are some harsh numbers. Well I'm playing MW3 right now, but should be going to MLB pretty soon so I will be giving in depth soon. But for those numbers... Yikes! What's his W/L record for those two seasons?

I refuse to evaluate a pitcher by W/L. It's even more useless than Fielding %.

I've got my gun loaded

In all seriousness though, If you give up JJ and two high B's I can possibly see the Tigers mull over the deal, depending on who the B's are and where they play.

Crow is an A potential right? Mid B and low B for him I think.

I think Baker is a Mid B, low B guy as well, especially if he is a rental.

Well then I'd say, based on your stats, An ace (Romero,Johnson,Morrow because of 20 wins) and two of the highest B's on your team (I believe Anderson,Alford,Nicolono, etc.) IMO

                  Don't forget he's still Verlander!!!!

                    I'm thinking JJ/Cozart (Peralta's been crap)/Hutchison.

JJ/Cozart/Hutchinson for Verlander... Hutchinson must be MLB ready in your 'chise so... Give them, a little less because JV is a rental and he's 31 y/o in your 'chise. IMO. But if you think what you did is perfect, then do it!!!

                            I think you should throw in a mid-highish C for Crow and Baker: 2 mid B's and a mid-highish C.

For Verlander.. I would probably wait a few months into the season to see if he's still doing poorly and where the Tigers are at in the standings. Considering they won the division even with him doing poorly makes me think they would probably keep him to see if he turns things around before shipping him off. He's a proven elite pitcher, I don't think they would give up on him yet.

He's not exactly proven, he couldn't follow up his 2011 in the slightest.

I think if I'm offering JJ too then they'd accept it immediately.

I guess... but why would the Blue Jays do that? Trade a very good player (ace?) for a struggling/over-paid pitcher? Verlander still has a lot of upside at age 30 and with him struggling the Tigers could sign him for a decent price next off-season.
It's a do-able trade but I don't see why it would happen. I think it would be more realistic if you waited until early-mid season to make the trade instead of the Tigers giving up on a former MVP that's only 30-31 years old... just my opinion.
