Wouldn't he be more exposed to injuries diving after balls in the OF than stopping balls at 1B?

You replacing him from within the organisation? FA signing? Trade?

          Majors
          • 16-12 Record (Tied for 1st with Pittsburgh) 2 early Cinderella stories
          • Wandy Rodriguez is 5-1 (Leads the NL in wins) From trade bait to franchise player?
          • Love me some JA Happ. 1.60 ERA and 0.94 WHIP
          • Weiland moves up to 4th in the rotation (2.42 ERA and Harrell is struggling) Love to hate you Harrell
          • Jordan Schafer is alive! Has lifted his BA from 0.62 to .211. I was just about to send him down at the end of the week. He has extended his demotion chance another 2 weeks!
          • Catcher Chris Snyder is now starting. He's hot! Hitting 4 HR's in 6 games and BA .341.
          • Travis Buck is now starting in RF. He's giving great at bats hiting .289 and OBP of .373
          AAA candidates for promotion

          • RP Aneury Rodriguez (16.1 IP / 16 SO / 1.10 ERA)is pitching well and making the strongest bid to moved up by the end of the month
          • 3B Brett Wallace (.387/.447/.645)
          AA candidate for promotion

          • OF JB Shuck (.304/.371/.500)
          ----

          Draft and Prospects Needed

          • Closer - 24 YR Kevin Chapman (AA) isn't the answer
          • C - Jason Castro isn't impressing me
          • 1B - I think Jonathan Singleton (AA) is injury prone and will play the outfield anyway
          • CF - Need guys with more speed
          • 3B - Need a guy with pop in his bat
          Trade Bait
          • 1B - Carlos Lee
          • SS - Jed Lowrie
          • 3B - Chris Johnson
          ---

Let me know if you guys think I'm crazy, especially with the needs and trade bait
i dont think ur crazy at all....Lee's an obvious trade chip, Lowrie could be moved at the deadline IRL and Johnson aint nothin special....have u given Rhiner Cruz a chance to close? i've been lukewarm on Castro so i can see where ur coming from....unless Singleton is atrocious at 1B, i wouldn't do anything with him defensively....he's gunna come around with the bat...Schafer has the speed in CF, but he's been a waste for me....and Johnson doesnt have the necessary pop at 3B so that's not anything out of the ordinary.....all in all, i agree with your needs and trade bait

gunna give him a couple more chances to get his act together....i can tolerate an unspectacular ERA but what i WONT tolerate is being teased with inconsistency....and i would replace from within first as i have a plethora of candidates in the majors and AAA who have shown they can get it done albeit in non-save situations

Who are your top two-three options for the gig?

Brandon Lyon? Wilton Lopez? David Carpenter? Rhiner Cruz a wildcard?

Cruz would be #1 option since i had him closing in AAA since the beginning of the year so i wouldn't have to take guys out of their current role....in 16 IP, he's racked up 14 SVS with a sparkling 1.69 ERA.....Lyon's a candidate to be released so no chance......Lopez is 3-1 with a 1.37 although he's allowed 2 homers in 19.2 IP....think im gunna leave him as the defacto long guy....Fernando Rodriguez has been a pleasant surprise going 2-1 with a 1.20 in 30 IP averaging almost a SO per inning...Carpenter's my 7th inning guy 2-1 with a 2.28...in AAA, Juan Abreu, is 1-2 with a miniscule 1.01 ERA avg'ing a SO per inning setting up for Cruz....Alberto Arias is 3-2 with a 1.64....Myers has blown 5 saves for me so far, serving up 6 dingers in 26 IP!!!!.....that's right folks, SIX....oh btw... he has a 5.19 ERA

That would be why I traded for Vizcaino and moved Rodriguez to closer. Will be turning Vizcaino to closer for years to come.

Oh, he's bout ready to get sent down or traded to.

i dont blame u....i just like to promote from within first before i make trades unless a guy from another team is absolutely setting the world on fire....the only issue i have is i can't send down Myers without risking him being picked up by another team....i might have no choice but to take that chance

That's true. Do you think he's worth anything in the trade room?

to be fair, no....nobody in their right mind on a contending team gunna give anything of value for a converted closer with a 5+ERA who serves up homers like it's pancakes

Vizcaino is always my go to trade. Hes had 50 saves in his rookie year for me before! Right now in my padres franchise, rhb are hittng lees than .091against him! He has like a 2.00 era! He's my current closer and he's beast! I would definitely trade for him if I was you!

I already did trade for him. He's my current setup man for Rodriguez and will be my closer next year and for years to come

Speaking of which, when I get home (should be an hour or 2) I will be posting teams that are for sure out of it for a Center fielder
