Re: Michael Bourn on the block

We are interested in Bourn and think that we could reach a deal including Mark Reynolds and Michael Bourn with some possible additions on each side. If you are interested in acquiring a power third basemen to replace an aging Jones please contact us as soon as possible as we are actively shopping Reynolds.

The Yankees would love to acquire a player of Bourn's caliber, he can fit right into our leadoff spot and add some much needed speed and youth to the lineup.

The package we would send on a deal for Bourn will really depend on our current situation.
Could you please tell me the following:
-Our record and place in the standings
-Gardner and Swisher performance so far

When u get back to me with that info we can put together a deal.

      Sincerely,

i think we can deffiantly use a power bat over at the corner and can deffiantly benefit with that this year making a playoff push, he can take over for chipper on rest days, but outside of that hes just a good bat off the bench for this year until after Chip is gone.

Also are you aware of bourns contract? 7.63m for this year and its looking like your not wanting to go through with this with out me taking more of your higher salary players.

I would like to put together some kind of package with you surrounding these guys but it looks like money is going to be an issue

                Subject: Bourn-Reynolds trade

After a long view and different packages on trying to find possiblities to move bourn to baltimore, it looks to me like this is a tough one for me to go through with.

this is my proposal but i fill like im hitting you with a cheap shot to the gut.

                Baltimore receives:
                Michael Bourn
                Sean Gilmartin
                Anthony Varvaro

                8.42 salary

                Atlanta receives:
                Mark Reynolds
                Nick Johnson
                Adam Jones

                9.07

Its looking like the only way we can move bourn to Baltimore is for us to take (what we beleive is your best player) Adam Jones and his 4.64 contract.

I fill like this is a cheap shot to your orginazation, but it looks like i have to take Adam's contract with me for this to work.

                a counter offer is welcomed

I'm sorry but at this time we are not willing to part with Adam Jones. As for the trade what if we did this?

                      Atlanta receives:
                      Mark Reynolds
                      Nick Johnson
                      Joel Pineiro

                      Baltimore receives:
                      Michael Bourn
                      Erik Cordier (C pot SP)

We are willing to take the 2mil salary hit in order to get this deal done.

Will Middlebrooks and David Ortiz are producing very well for me and have no room for Youk and his contract on the bench. Willing to possibly package him and Buchholz up for a good starting pitcher or just him for a RF.

You're looking for some pitching? Look no further. Henderson Alvarez is a 22 yr. old MLB-ready starting pitcher. My tentative offer would be Buchholz and Youkilis for Alvarez, Joe Musgrove and Adonys Cardona. However, before I make a formal offer, how have Alvarez, Youkilis, and Buchholz been doing? And what is the record of Boston and Toronto?

                          Thanks for your time.

Alright Im back with an offer for you.

My offer is: Andrew Jones (3.0 M) and Tyler Austin (490K) straight up for Michael Bourn (7.6 M).

Considering that Bourn is in the last year of his contract and is not having a great season, I cannot offer you much. By receiving Jones you get a valuable veteran outfielder with power who can help you in your playoff push, and with Austin you get a young 3rd base prospect with a bright future who you can build around.

Im willing to take on the 4.1 M difference in salary.

This is my initial offer to you, if you have a counteroffer Ill be glad to hear it.

                                Sincerely,
