When I lose like that I normally rage quit. I don't mind losing, but when crap like that happens I just replay the game, haha. I understand anything in baseball can happen. I understand if my bullpen implodes, but this is different. This is just consecutive stupid errors.

Same goes for other sports games too. Don't mind losing in NHL(My first NHL12 game I lost, to the Sens of all teams! And I didn't really mind lol), but losing because the AI ended up doing cheap moves(like wraparounds which are 99% guaranteed glitch like goals), that's when things get badComment

Step 1: Trade for Mike Trout
Step 2: Go 7 for 7 (2 Doubles and 5 singles) with 8 SB and 2 CS in a blowout.
Step 3: Have you PS3 freeze when exiting.

Re: Those get up and yell moments...
With the Mets, I was down by 2 runs to the Cubs with Marmol on the mound. He dispatches the first two batters with ease, and then with 2 outs i did the unthinkiable:
Tejada starts it off with a opp field hit. I'm not too excited yet, happy to get a runner and delay the inevitable..
Ike Davis steps up next and smacks a basehit just out of reach of Barney, now i have 2 runners on with 2 outs, down by 2. OK, this is getting interesting. Still, i know how this story ends in video game land..
Wright is now up with the game on the line, who has finally started to hit after a awful start to the season. Marmol promptly throws 2 balls, and i realize i have a chance to end this..
I look fastball, and que up the rarely used power button and deposit a game winning, 2 out, 3 run HR into the left field seats in Citi Field to walk off in style.
Easily one of the most exiting wins i've ever had.Comment

Re: Those get up and yell moments...
I had an 18 game hitting streak with myself. During the game I was 0-4, had one last chance to extend my hitting streak. I end up lining a ball to deep short, the shortstop had to go in the hole and do a Jeter-esque jump and throw play. The ball short hopped to the first baseman and he dropped it, I was safe.

Re: Those get up and yell moments...
Had two moments yesterday. First game LAA vs Detroit i'm up 8-7 bottom 8th inning bases loaded 1 out I get the ground ball I need to shortstop flip it to 2nd basement Kendrick for one then on the throw to first it ends up in the dugout two runs score game over. Next game i'm up 3-1 on the Yankees I bring in the closer Ernesto Frieri 1st batter home run. Next 3 batters got hits I lose 3-4. I had to restrain myself from throwing and breaking another controller. I admit my mistake was not saving the game after I gave up the first home run.Comment

Re: Those get up and yell moments...
I'm a game up on TOR and three over BOS as I'm trying to close out August in my Yankees Franchise (70-47 record).
Texas comes to town for a four game set, which doesn't make my pressure to keep winning feel any easier.
I manage to take two of the first three, and am DYING to take the fourth game before hosting BOS...hoping FINALLY to create some space in the division.
Tied 3-3, Texas get second and third with one out in the bottom of the 6th. I decide to bring the infield in (hoping to keep the game tied), and Brad Hawpe lines a freaking rocket single over Robinson Cano's head to blow the game open!
Tex 6, NYY 3.
I didn't get up, and I didn't yell. But when Hawpe smoked that ball, I did say a few choice words to Kuroda and company. My choice of words: Swear ones! A lot of them...Comment

Re: Those get up and yell moments...
Couldn't decide whether to put this here for the Franchise Progress thread ... guess it will go here.
Game 102 of my Braves dynasty. I've been struggling of late. Really need a win against the Marlins.
I've got a 4-1 lead after six. I take out JJ and bring in O'Flaherty. He gives up two runs, so now it's 4-3. Go to the 8th, I bring in Venters. He gets the first two outs easy. Ramirez singles just past Freeman at first. Coughlan singles up the middle. Reyes is up. I get a 3-2 count, and he starts fouling fastballs off left and right. He finally pulls one just over Chipper's head and into the left-field corner for a two-run double. Get Up and Yell Moment #1. I walk Stanton intentionally. Venters then walks Morrison on four straight. I bring in Moylan. He walks Sanchez to force in Reyes before getting out of the inning, but I'm now down 6-4.
Moylan gives up another run in the top of the 9th. So I'm down 7-4. Marlins bring in Bell to close it out. Freeman and Diaz each fly out. Down to my final out. Bourn (whom I had given the day off) doubles as a pinch-hitter. Willie Harris walks. Jed Lowrie, my trade deadline acquisition, comes up. Works the count to 3-2. Gets a curveball from Bell and rips it deep to right field. Get Up and Yell Moment #2. I drop the controller and scream for the ball to get out of the park. It just gets over the right-field wall for a game-tying three-run homer. Chipper pops out to end the inning.
I bring in Kimbrel to pitch the 10th. I guess the adrenaline from me passed through the controller to virtual Kimbrel, because he fanned Stanton-Morrison-Sanchez in order. Pretty sure Get Up and Yell Moment #3 was on the strikeout to end the inning.
Bottom 10, McCann and Uggla each single to lead off the inning. I bring Wilson in to pinch run for McCann at second. I debate whether to have Heyward sacrifice or swing away, but decide with Heyward he needs to be swinging. He rips a groundball ... right to Sanchez, who turns a double play. Get Up and Yell Moment #4. So two out now, Wilson on third. Freeman swings at the first pitch, rips it into right-center for the game winner, 8-7. Get Up and Yell Moment #5.
I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight.Last edited by LowerWolf; 07-22-2012, 11:20 PM.Comment

And...
David Ortiz take Mariano deep top 10 to take game one of our August showdown.
I knew it the second I threw it.

Re: Those get up and yell moments...
Every time I take a lead in a game, the CPU hits as many solo home runs as they need to tie me.
So I could pitch 5 innings of no hit ball, if I take a 3-0 lead, the CPU will hit 3 solo home runs in a row off me in the next half of the inning. This happens to me EVERY game.Comment

Start reviewing your pitch history at this point, and make sure to not only mix pitches and location, but 'effort' on the pitch too.
And warming up pitchers when trouble begins is crucial. Confidence is king in this series.Comment

Re: Those get up and yell moments...
My teams ERA is probably in the 3's, but it's because the games either go....Complete(or almost complete) game shutouts(or 1 run allowed), or the other team scores 5+ runs.
Inconsistent or what. I've tried all diff sliders and can never fix this. I want normal scoring games, not shutouts one day, and 6 run games the day after(consistently happens like that, its not like it randomly happens)Comment

Are you saying that you are always throwing gems or beatdowns, literally consecutively? Screen shot?Last edited by Heroesandvillains; 07-24-2012, 05:46 PM.Comment
