Re: MLB 13 The Show Wishlist

Player accomplishments somewhere in the player card. Also full career season stats including what team they played for. I know I asked for this like 10 times but I figured I'll keep asking till they put it in

I've noticed that after a batter makes contact with the ball (non-homerun animation) they instantaneously drop the bat and start running. Some players hang on to the bat and toss it or drag it behind them after they start running.

Home run presentation/commentary idea, adopted and expanded from ESPN Major League Baseball [2K4]:

In that game, there were a few stadium-specific areas where Jon Miller and Joe Morgan would kind of say where the ball landed during the replay. For instance, if the ball went over the Green Monster, it would be mentioned during replay. Into McCovey Cove? It would be noted. Upper deck? Yup.

There were two things that could have helped it: 1) more areas to mention (including distance), even if it's general areas like into the bullpen or off a facade; 2) 2K4 didn't have any collision detection, so when it says it reached the upper deck, somehow the game still recognized it even though the ball went right through it.

I think this game can do a little more with it, like making a live comment about it as the runner is rounding the bases, and mentioning how far it went later in the game/inning. It doesn't even have to be about mammoth shots. Maybe Vasgersian just says something like: "About seven rows back." Anything that gives indication about the home run so it's not so generic.

Here's an example about too much home run detail commentary lol: http://tinyurl.com/9wd4mev

The video following that also gives home run landing commentary too: http://tinyurl.com/agkuq6h

Would be a cool thing to add.

Realistic Contracts it would make franchise running a small budget team so much more realistic. Can't stand nick Swisher making 1.2 million in the game when he makes nothing close to that and every team in the game bidding on and being able to afford Cano when only 23 of the 30 mlb teams can even afford to pay him in real life. Cano will not sign with the A's for 5 years and 60 million.... not realsitic at all. You guys need to make player contracts reflect real life contracts or at least be close. You guys have the length right bit not the dollars no idea why, every other sports video game does Fifa, Nba 2k, Nhl,Madden. Maybe it's your license agreement wich I've read on here. Although I don't see it since every website, Newspaper, sports channel release the length and amount of contract. Even the MLB site releases it and Baseball teams actually hold Press confrences, confrence calls and have agents, Players, GM"s and Owners telling media and public of the length and full dollar amount of players said contract even the yearly breakdown and signing bonus so it's public knowledge.
It would only require paying a guy for one day and researching the actual contract length and amount using sites like cot's and Team press releases.

Real baseball card where it shows more than the current seasons stats. Maybe you can't do a bunch of seasons but at least the last three plus every new one in franchise after 2013: similar to Madden, NHL. NBA 2K

Last wish would be for players not to retire so young or when they are still performing at an above level. I feel bad for Yankee fans, since they can't actually play a realistic franchise in MLB the Show 12 because after season one half the team retires. The wish would be for the show 13 to maybe only have 7 old palyers retire a season and have elite or very good players retire at 40.
No one is expecting every player to retire at 45 like Omar V but Jeter is not retireing after the 2012 season. A-Rod isn't walking away when he has five years and 112 million dollars to play for. Never understood in the first palce why guys under contract are retiring in MLB the show, rarely ever happens in real life when a player walks away from guranteed money if they play. Only two I can think of lately are GILL Meche and Chipper Jones. Why is Josh Hamilton and others retiring in the show becasue of a weak free agent market when they are clearly some the top overall rated talent still in the show.

I think this is more of a "chance" type of thing. I've played several franchises and Jeter rarely retires before age 41. A-Rod same thing. I've noticed it has more to do with their attributes. If they are dropping drastically, you'll notice a better chance of them retiring. If their durability is high, they will more than likely stick around. The only time I think they retire early is if they are 2 hits from 3,000 or a couple HRs away from a milestone like 300 or 500. But even then, I think a lot of players play too long on the game. I'm someone who appreciates player/team loyalty. I like seeing the Evan Longoria and David Wright extensions to play for one team their whole career. The Craig Biggio/Derek Jeter guys who are loyal to their franchise and fans and don't chase after big FA money. I think it's crazy that people complain about too many players signing with their original team on this game... because I don't think it happens NEARLY enough. It seems like EVERY player hits FA on this game. They want Pujols and Fielder type FA markets... and that doesn't happen every year. And most teams lock up those players if they can afford to.

But anyway, being that I'm an old school loyalty guy... I try to keep some older players on my teams so they can retire with my team. Unfortunately, I can only sign so many 1 yr contracts before I just go edit all their attributes to 0 so no one will claim them off waivers, bury them in class-a until they retire. And even then sometimes they hang on for a couple years. I brought Jack Wilson back to Pittsburgh to retire a Bucco, like he should, and he stuck around in AA for 3 years. Not even on the 40 man roster. My roster usually holds 83-85 players... but when I start playing these types of games with players... it easily can rack up to 90 players. lol

So while I hear you... you gotta understand that one can complain that they don't retire soon enough, too. When I mediocre player sticks around until 43... it just doesn't make sense. One franchise I had a guy making 11M, because of a poor contract, at age 40. I had a 22 yr old playing in front of him making 3.5M.. and was unable to sign a legitimate 3rd rotation guy because of the old dude taking his spot. Problem: the year before he had hit .213 with 12HR's. You'd think after a year like that, a dude would hang it up... but he was still gonna get 11M... so why? I wasn't mad, I wouldn't either. The year after when his contract was up.... he didn't retire. I quit without saving and went back into the offseason 3 times before he finally decided to retire. If one of your guys retires... just go back and go into the offseason again until he doesn't.

But as for me... I don't like the fact that 29 and 32 yr olds are winning Rookie of the Year because they haven't been able to break into the league because there's no room for them. 24 yr olds take jobs from 38 yr olds.. that's life. Then the 38 yr old retires. lol.

All-Star game jerseys should change to the colors of the home field team that is hosting the game. For instance, this season they wore the light and dark blue because they played in KC. Next year I think they play in Arizona so the jerseys should be black and red. IDK where it is the next year but say it's Atlanta, colors should be red and navy blue, so on and so forth. Would add a little to the immersion.

Running needs to be changed. The look like they're lunging too much and they look really hunched over.

Better baserunners shouldn't trip as much as they do.

Re: MLB 13 The Show Wishlist

-A cinematic camera, like the 2k series. Maybe when a pitcher is in a tough situation, the camera could show a shot of a close-up of the pitcher's sweaty brow with the sound of the crowd chanting the name of the pitcher (If the announcers could do it, why not the crowd?) and the same for the batter.)
-Instead of the ballpark, maybe show some sights in the city. All I see is the view of the newscasters and maybe the statue of Tony Gwynn in front of Petco.
-Add some more non-baseball-related things to Create-a-Player. Maybe some traits like in the Sims? Maybe something like routy, hot-headed, modest, team-spirited, etc.
-Add some side-events to RTTS and franchise. Congratulation emails, pep talks from the manager, more action in the dugout (dancing, high-fives, stunned "What?!?!? That was a strike?!?" actions, etc.), relationships with your teammates and coaches (better friends makes better 'ball), pregame interviews?
-An option to increase/decrease the size of the zone hitting marker, while increasing the chance of a solid hit, and make it bat shaped, kind of like Power Pros, where it was a bat-shaped marker, and there were far fewer times I've chopped the ball. That was much better than a oval-shaped blob that lies about a solid hit.
-Change the hats on players that move to different teams.
                      -More weather options.
                      -More hairstyles.

That's all I could think of. Does San Diego Studio even look at these posts here?

Arizona had the ASG 2 years ago. This year it's CITI according to wikipedia. But your point remains. Just clearing that up.

Probably not at this stage in development (2 months before release), but they have said if guys get traded or you do or fantasy draft (or any time a player leaves his actual team) his picture will revert to a CAP-like picture to keep the jersey and hat accurate.

Something I hadn't thought about until someone else mentioned it. I know everyone (including me) wants create a team and create a stadium. Something related to that is stadium renovation. The New York Mets last year and Seattle Mariners this year both brought in their fences. I think we should be able to do that (to an extent) in this game. When you add seats in the stadium, the look of the stadium should also change. In past games, you would add thousands of seats, but the stadium looks exactly the same.

Another thing with stadium creation is if you are a team like the A's or the Rays and you need a new stadium, you should be able to create a stadium in your franchise for your team. If you are someone like the Twins or the Marlins who recently got new stadiums, the MLB would reject the new stadium.

Actually I think it would be hilarious to be able to pull in the fences to the edge of the infield. It would be unrealistic but really fun.

Well I'm sure this will not be in this year show but I still want a two player RTTS. My wife and I love to play this mode together but we hate having to play 2 completely different games.
